Like I said. Although I do love Galaxy-Eyes, Kite is NOT Yuma's rival. Shark or Nasch is, which makes Black Ray Lancer his signature. Just watch how their last duel concludes.

I would argue that Kaito is Yuma's rival in the manga so..(and if you are including Shark and Chazz, you should also include Bahamut Shark and Light and Darkness Dragon as well, oh and Hot Red Dragon Archfiend)

Thread title should technically be named "Rival's Signature Cards" since the cards here belong to that of the main character rivals. (They aren't exactly antagonists)

If this were antagonist, then we'd have stuff like Winged Dragon of Ra, Yubel, Z-ONE's cards, Don Thousand's and not sure for ARC-V.

----

Regardless, Red Dragon Archfiend for certain, if only because of The King (Jack Atlas) and Burning Soul. Also, because upgrades and stuff.

Blue-Eyes is awesome, but yeah.

Ojama Yellow is meh.

Black Ray is neutral; 101 is better (even if its usage got shot with Castel's introduction and other better R4s).

Hell Armageddon is again neutral, and certainly not worth my time running in D/D's; it's crap.

And here I thought Yuya's rival was Shingo Sawatari, but since he doesn't have a proper ace card, screw him anyways.

I voted for Blue-Eyes White Dragon, cuz it has the best artwork imo and because of nostalgia.

You can assume Daibakaze was his ace (well, only for that episode against Yuya).

Otherwise, I suppose that Big Star (that 2500 ATK 'mon in Shingo's new Deck) is it.

Yeah, it's hard to determine a proper ace from him.

------

But in Yuya's case, it can go either way with Shark or Kaito.

Thematically, Kaito obeyed the usual ace monster thing that all rivals thus far (save for Reiji) had; 3000 ATK Dragon. Shark didn't.

Erm... I'd say shark drake or abyss splash is a lot closer to being shark's ace than black ray lancer was. It was just a "we need to give him a boss until he gets his next number" card.

Voted RDA anyway, but still, not very fair on shark :/

Either way, I'm surprised you didn't use Kaito. If you use Kaiba for DM, surely you use Kaito for ZeXal. Shark may have been an antagonist, but he always seemed like the "joey" to me, as did Chazz. Zane and Kaito seemed like the Kaibas.

I'd like to say Sharks favorite card was 32, 73 or 101. But the fact of the matter is no matter how many numbers he got he always ended up using Black Ray Lancer. Black Ray Lancer was with him from beginning to end. And Yuma ended up dueling Shark more than Kite in a way if anyone ever saw Beyblades Metal Saga they'd understand.

I never imagined chazz as a rival to Jaden tbh. I would actually give the spot to the season rivals or Zane seeing he had more trouble facing Zane, Hibiki, and Astar. And the ones that progressed his development of his character the most were Astar, Johan/Yubel, and Hibiki/Darkness...

Either way gonna have to go with RDA for sheer anime power.

Chazz was Jadens rival because just look at his stat sheet. Zane dueled Jaden once or twice, Chazz dueled Jaden like 4 or 5 times.

Just because Chazz duels Jaden more doesn't mean he is better suited for being Jadens rival, same as Shark. Zane and Kaito are more threatening than Chazz and Shark tbh.

Well yes that is true, but Kites rival is Mizar for the name of "Dragon Master" or whatever it is. If you've seen Beyblades Metal Saga, the main character is Gingka and his rival is Kyoya, but a guy named Ryuga fills the same spot as Kite and Zane being in a league of his own as undefeated by the protagonist. Kite could pretty much care less if he duels Yuma, the same with Zane. Chazz and Shark have more of a DRIVE to defeat their respective rival. Proves this by Chazz dueling Jaden 6 times to Zane's 3. And Sharks 6 to Kites 2.

Ironically, Kaito's Galaxy-Eyes was unquestionably his signature card, though I agree with Shark's being labeled as Black Ray Lancer, because prior to him acquiring other Numbers, it was his anti-Number card. Not sure why Kaito isn't considered a rival on his own, though, since he's an expy of the original rival the same way as Chazz, Zane, Jack, Shark, and Reiji are, and a more blatant one at that.

I don't think it's fair to consider Ojama Yellow as Chazz's "signature card". It's his Duel Spirit, but on its own, it does nothing, so it's not really a signature card. That'd be the same as saying Winged Kuriboh is Jaden's signature card (and you'd have a better argument for that case, too).

So if you've watched GX, you'll know that Ojama Yellow is the best signature card (and Chazz is the best rival).

What he went through to get his new deck was amazing. His development after the Jaden vs Bastion duel was one of a kind, not seen in many animes where character development is praised.

Sure, RDA is a good card (for its time) and Jack is also an amazing rival, but Chazz's story is unbeatable IMO.

Finally someone who understands. Ojama Yellow is Chazz' signature not LV10. Chazz supported his Ojamas much more than his Armed Dragons. Jaden didn't support Winged Kuriboh other than LV9. And as for Shark being Yuma's rival and not Kite, Shark was the one Yuma first dueled and Shark was the last one Yuma dueled. Shark was the one who dueled Yuma to get him back to himself. Kite only dueled Yuma twice, that's not really a foundation to build on a rivalry. A rivalry results in constant butting heads and doesn't necessarily mean having the hardest time defeating them. Reiji has defeated Yuya but as of press time I would place Sawatari as his rival instead. The only reason I don't have him labeled here is because he keeps changing his damn deck. The new signature he has I don't have enough information on it as we haven't even seen it in action.

Although Armed Dragon would have been my choice if it was on here for obvious reasons (And Konami tried to make it his thing tho apparently it didn't do enough justice or something), Red Dragon Archfiend is my choice of these. It's such a well represented rival card in terms of it being a Dragon often made from Demons (Resonators) that blows up things. How can you beat that?
