GarlandChaos
I'm pretty sure everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY who plays competitively today has had their ass kicked by this thing at least once. Why? Because of this thing's effects. Pretty much all of them. It cannot be Special Summoned, yeah, but why add in the "If this card is Normal Summoned/Set..." effect if it NEEDS to be Normal Summoned/Set in the first place? To make matters worse, it's unfazed by Spells/Traps and the effects of monsters with a lower level/rank than it, which is basically almost every other monster in the game that's worth a damn except Trains. The ATK and DEF loss upon Special Summon effect is another nail in the coffin, stopping monsters who just BARELY have more ATK than it from killing it. The last effect also needs mentioning, the monster removal one. Why? It doesn't target. And it isn't destruction. ...yeah. This funking thing. Discuss. The Warden
This is pretty much the example of what a boss monster is, but maybe not what a boss monster should be. They're meant to be powerful and most likely win games, but shouldn't be utterly immovable once it's on the field. This thing epitomizes winmoar since the deck can win without it, it's just that this will pretty much seal the deal and call it GG, because aside from some continuous monster effects or some high level removal, this guy ain't going anywhere. The major problem really being that it's a Pendulum archetype, and because of that, getting rid of this thing will NOT equal the effort of getting it out, since its tribute fodder are constantly recurring. If Qli weren't Pendulums, this thing would actually be pretty fine having all those effects, since then it would require more investment to get out. So, yeah, the real problem with this thing is that because Qli abuse the Pendulum mechanic so maliciously, the effort of getting this thing out will always be a lot less than the effort of getting rid of it. (GigaDrillBreaker)
This card is freaking cool. The fact it is damn easy to search and summon isn't.
Rodrigo
Qliphorts are what Meklords should have been. Especially on strength.
Trebuchet MS
Very difficult to answer - with exception to Kaijus. lel. Competes with Skybase for my preference, due to general lack of control over what I can remove with Towers' effect. It's also not what I'd want to be doing against Shaddolls. Degritone
Utopia Lightning this thing in the face every time it's made. Granted, I play a rank 4 spam deck, but whatever.

BlackBeartic
Utopia the Lightning is an OCG exclusive, so its existence is irrelevant for TCG competitive play.Yeah TCG has it real rough. Since Lightning doesn't exist yet for them. I love this card's artwork and even the basis behind it's lore and stuff. Sadly I hate it gameplay wise for pretty much all the reasons above. It does too much for very little effort.
UltimateIRS
It's also not what I'd want to be doing against Shaddolls. It doesn't trigger Shaddolls. Because reasons.
heraldry_lord
It doesn't trigger Shaddolls. Because reasons. Share the Pain is the strongest form of removal in this game, as far as I'm concerned. What better way is there to get rid of your opponent's stuff than by literally making your opponent do it themselves?
Spinny
BA aren't really affected by the last effect, but they lose to the rest of it lol.
Hello my name is Enguin
Lava Golem deals with so much stuff these days.
goodfusion
Lava Golem deals with so much stuff these days. Or you could use the Kaijus, and while they only deals with 1 monster, you can still Normal Summon the turn you summon it, as well as being able to get a free monster if you have 2 in hand. (GigaDrillBreaker)
BA aren't really affected by the last effect, but they lose to the rest of it lol.I honestly can't think of a worthwhile towers out for BA. On the other hand, between Galaxy Cyclone and Fire Lake, BA are really good at sniping Qli's scales, so even summoning this against them is a chore. ~British Soul~
The other thing about Lightning, is that when it does come out, it'd only be legal in NA so Europe would still have a tough time. Although talking about Qlis in general, since it came up at locals today, we were talking about Chimeratech not being able to use the Pendulums as fusion materials as they don't hit the grave. This is the only card in Qlis that can be used for Chimeratch.
Lonk
Deskbot Jet can crash into Towers. And they say Jet fuel can't melt steel beams. Joking aside, I feel that Kaijus are the way they are because of Towers' existence.
·Toot
Question about this thing. If Skill Drain was face-up before this was summoned, his effects are negated right? His effect says it's unaffected by effects that are activated. Skill Drain is continuous. Outcome?
The Warden
Yep, it's the same as Jinzo. He's negated if Skill Drain was on the field first. Also, Tower's activated effect immunity only applies to monster effects. So if Skill Drain is activated after he was summoned, he's immune to it.
