Even in full power Spellbook, or in even a fast Majespecter build, this cards effect to +4 is no luxury. goodfusion Posted November 11, 2015 Report Share Posted November 11, 2015 Seems like it would be pretty good if you placed a counter for each monster destroyed, so if your opponent Raigeki'd you while you controlled 4 Spellcasters you would place 4 Spell Counters. It's a shame it doesn't work with Magical Citadel of Endymion as well. This card would benefit greatly from more Spell Counter support. Hopefully Konami will make more cards like the new Skilled Magicians for easier Spell Counter generation. For now though... Spell Power Grasp? Magical Plant Mandragola? vla1ne Posted November 12, 2015 Report Share Posted November 12, 2015 Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't apprentice magician not trigger when special summoned face-down?yes he does, but when he's summoned, he can place a spell counter on barrier, so upon summon he places one, and upon death he places one. after that, if he's been killed by battle, he can summon another monster facedown, which upon it's death will put a counter on barrier again (if they attack it anyway). the best way to do it would be to summon apprentice, kill it via battle, summon undertaker, bring back apprentice, and activate barrier to draw 3-4 cards. and even then it's relatively slow.
