New Deal Card Submissions Thread

Right now, it's basically a Breakthrough Skill for face-up cards; original one had an Armades/AG clause on it (I forgot which one).

But as a sidenote, the cards I submitted at any point during this format's duration were designed with the current meta at the time of their original creation. What it's intended to deal with in the full card pool (including competition for the 6 slot and other things) doesn't necessarily exist in 2099 (and likely won't).

Again, these are the versions Darkness and the older review team accepted earlier on (and should likely already be in this pool and awaiting pack sorting, according to what he's telling me).

Flash Step is far above our power level. Good statline for a Lv6, it's generic and the negation effect is really absurd compared to the rest we have now. Please nerf it to something more fair, I also give it a no.

If it makes you happy: Darkrai is really cool and I like how much it resembles the Pokémon's signature ability and attack.

Anyway, as for all the other generics - I already looked over them, but I won't spam my results here until something is set up. You will probably see at some point.

That's why I asked what sort of power level are you guys aiming for, so things can be tempered to the format as necessary. (Apparently question got passed over)

(They were fine back then, but if the card pool has changed, then things might not be as nice.)

I suppose I could just change it to permanent negation, but keep it restricted to your turn only so it's not a walking BTS on a 2.5k body (similar to Metaphys Horus). Or if you guys really want it, just change it to your turn only, but that'll make it less appealing in usage. Either that, or I could just require it to be full LIGHT materials.

Come to think of it, I seem to have heard darkfireblade had a suggested nerf; what did you have in mind?

The ones in the current pool are fine as is. This is what I got from the pool and this also is what will work after discussing it earlier with darkfire:

Flash Step Pegasus
Level 6 | LIGHT | Beast | Synchro | Effect
2500/1500
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
You can only use the effect of "Flash Step Pegasus" once per turn.
(1) During your turn, if your opponent activates a card or effect: You can negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it.

Idk why the judges feel there needs more to be said, but that isn't quite my problem

To everyone in the thread, we have a spreadsheet with the approvals and disapprovals for each card and archetype along with who did so and what are the comments and suggested edits IN THE OP. It is slowly being filled out as the days go on so check back periodically to see the changes to your cards.

Archetypes probably should have a scheduled testing session with a judge for faster feedback and approval. PM one of the judges to schedule one.

NOTE: I've edited my submissions (I assume by removing "Chaotic Orbitals" and "Misynchronization" that I get my chances to create cards back...?)

EDIT- 5/7/16- Edits made to "Tradeout Drake", "Thunderous Queen Diana", and "Disgraced Wyvern"
- Removed "Chaotic Orbitals" and "Misynchronization"
+ "Tradeout Drake" now requires you to control no monsters
+"Thunderous Queen Diana" changed to "Darklight Queen Diana"
+"Disgraced Wyvern"s effect lasts until the end of your opponent's End Phase, can only be used once per turn, and you can only control one "Disgraced Wyvern"

Yes. Changes to Diana and the other I am good with, with Wyvern, is there some sort of intended synergy I am missing? The change barely affects how it will play out in practice, and hence why I might want to help out here. I may or may not give a second look though

I'm not sure what you're asking, Blackened Carnage. I just figured that the permanent change to being Wyrm-type was OP, and figured that changing them to Wyrm-type for one to two turns (max) could help alleviate it. It could let the summoning player slow the opponent down long enough to make a comeback, if they have plays based around their monster's types. Plus, a generic 2300/2300 DARK monster doesn't seem like a terrible card to make, in my eyes.

EDIT- Changed Darklight Queen Diana's effect to make the reveal a cost, and the send a part of the effect afterward

One more try, this generic card should be quite useful against powerful dragons and the field dominance of these monsters.

I consider the effects of this card very creative and well balanced in general (although the Fusion Summon function slightly differently).

The Ultimate Dragonslayer, Scalebane
Level 9/EARTH/Warrior/Effect/Fusion
3000/2500
This monster can only be Special Summoned by Fusion Summon (from your Extra Deck) by tributing 1 Warrior-Type monster you control, and banish 2 Dragon-Type monsters from your opponent's Graveyard (you do not use Polymerization), and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. When this card is Summoned: Destroy all Level 7 or lower Dragon-Type monsters on the field. While this card remaining face-up on the field, only Level 8 or higher Dragon-Type monsters can be Summoned (other monsters can be Summoned normally), and decrease the ATK and DEF of all Dragon-Type monsters on the field by 1000 points. This card cannot be destroyed by battle by Dragon-Type monsters, and cannot be targeted by Dragon-Type monster's effects. This card effects cannot be negated.

Automatically rejected. We don't know if dragons are actually going to be a problem until the format shapes up. Since I made sure that our main Dragon arch is fairly balanced, there is no need for this. Our main Warrior arch is pretty good too and could probably hold its own against dragons by way of its own power. Post this when we have a consensus that something slipped us by, or else don't submit it at all.

In a way you're right, is supposed that the Dragons are balanced in a context, but the idea of this card is just to being a "game-breaker" precisely aimed for Extra Deck for an event of "counter Dragons"; to be something conditioned to your opponent's Dragons is a matter of strategy its inclusion or not in the Extra Deck (you can be successful or not in use depending on the use Dragons by your opponent). I quote a card of similar effect that worked well even if being a "game-breaker": "Dragon Capture Jar"; their only purpose was to stop the dragons because is supposed that the concept of virtually any dragon is to be powerful in the Yu-Gi-Oh (for this reason you not found in quantity Dragons below the level 6 for example - It has a great attack and support power up the majority of the average other monsters).

Either I must respect a decision contrary, although I believe it could be an interesting option for many players and a more current way to stop dragons in the game (more directly).

It gives too much leeway for anything that can remotely run warriors to out the dragon player handily. The dragon player will just have to hope that they don't run into this card ever or never create dragons archs bigger than 6 in the main deck without compensating for this card. It's bad for the creative environment.
