What does it mean to be an individual? What is society? And where are we going? Paweł Kuczyński, a famous cartoonist from Poland, poses these and many other questions in his work.

Double standards.

 

His fascinating illustrations have garnered significant popularity for their highly topical subject matter; it’s said that they often reflect the very essence of what’s going on around us in the modern world.

Kuczyński, moreover, has his own unique style of drawing which is quite unlike that of any other artist. He explains that he always thinks through the idea for every illustration very carefully, trying to endow each one with as much meaning as he can express.

We put together a selection of 20 of Kuczyński’s best drawings. Their combination of subtle humour and thought-provoking ideas throw up a whole number of uncomfortable questions about the nature of the world we live in.

Oh... these are mostly similes in the form of paintings.

 

A picture tells a thousand words,  but posting my sprites didn't seem to cut the mustard when my English teacher asked me to write a thousand-word paper about a topic of my choice. Looks like somebody's getting sued.  :P

These are fantastic; I love the style, and the inspiration in the pictures has a hint of surrealism without really getting too much; it dips its toe. Very creative, rather true, and very well painted. Just great.

They're pretty stupid. Looking at them, it reminds me of how much of a prick I was back in the day and how much I didn't do anything but sit on my ass just watching the world around me move. Honestly, these are cookie-cutter images with the whole self-righteous high school vibe going on that means absolute sheet once you people get into the real world. They're lame, uninspiring, and remind me of Bernie Sanders. That's also why they're sheet.
