Crystrons

Since nobody commented on that yet:

The non-Tuners are evidently based on the Four Gods from Chinese Mythology.

Prasirator is the Black Tortoise of the north, Rosenix is the Vermillion Bird of the south, Smoger is the White Tiger of the west and Thystvern is the Azure Dragon of the east.

The Synchros are basically the Tuners wearing the non-Tuners as battle armor/combining with them:

Quondam is Quon + Smoger, Ametrix is Citri + Thystvern and Phoenixion is a fusion between the 2 Tuners + Rosenix. Which hints at another Synchro to be released next set featuring a combination between the Tuners and Prasirator.

Also, don't be surprised if they release another non-Tuner and a Synchro representing the Yellow Dragon/Qilin of the center in Raging Tempest.

Any activated effect that can be used during your opponent's turn is quick.

Ok. It was a bit confusing considering the Synchro Tuner specified that it was a quick effect but the tuners did not.

I like how these guys interact with Superheavy Samurai Musashi. Summon it during your opponent's turn, grab back any machine then be able to use it during your turn.

Ancient Gear Box tho... Why'd you have to specify EARTH Monsters? Crystrons could've really made nice use of it especially in conjunction with Quon...

I can see this archetype as a nice glue for several machine archetypes and give them a new direction to go in, similar to Atlanteans > Sea Serpents.

Bear in mind those are unofficial early translations, so they're more likely to contain mistakes.

Um, could you elaborate as to how/why? I'm genuinely confused.

Destroy it for one of the non-tuners and summon a water monster from your grave and a tuner from your deck, funnily enough enough to summon phoenixion if you have one of the synchros in your grave. Edit: Do not forget about smoke grenade of the thief (got the idea from ygohack137, sounds like a nice way to start the game.

T.G. hybrids sound like fun, warwolf and striker can extend combos and add destruction targets which float. Speedroid hybrids could also be cute.

I was just thinking about Speedroids.

Anyway, I'm really confused as to why these aren't Pendulums. Does that mean that they're stopping the series continued by Metalfoes? And if they were, would that mean that they are stopping the Dracoemperors? I was really looking forward to making Enterblathnir Speedroids with the WIND Dracoemperor and Cloudcastle. :/

EDIT:

I doubt there'll be any successful pure builds of thid archetype. Though, how would this work with Speedroid?

It would work because Machine-Type Synchro archetype. Speedroids are very versatile.

Top allows to field more resources and that is this archtype's biggest flaw, however T.G. looks to be superior, especially because it makes more cute 2-card plays like op turn blackrose via warwolf.

After testing I can conclude:

1.) the archtype is definitely fun to play.

2.) not having the spells/traps yet means you do not want to see smoger (obviously).

3.) the accel synchro plays are more consistent than expected.

4.) T.G. is a very helpful tech, though warwolf is far more useful than striker, so I run 2 striker and 3 warwolf.

5.) You quickly run out of extra deck synchros.

6.) Twin Twisters is amazing, considering 2 have phantom knight grave effects (also rather obvious).

7.) The archtype is more playable than expected and somewhat faster (though not much).

8.) A phoenixion for monsters (with archtype restriction) (at least for the field) or at least a raigeki effect on it is really needed.

Could I get a Deck list of your build? I want to test it out.

2x Rosenix                                                                     2x instant Fusion                                              1x Moray of Greed (play 2 instead of upstart if you feel you draw the tuners too often)

3x Trystvern                                                                   1x Soul Charge                                                 1x Upstart Goblin

3x Smoger (right now almost unusable)                        3x Twin Twisters                                                3x Solemn Strike

3x Prasirator                                                                  1x Foolish Burial                                                1x Solemn Warning

2x Quon                                                                         1x Burial from a Different Dimension                 1x Dimension Barrier

2x Citri                                                                            3x DD Trench

2x Warwolf                                                                     3x Smoke Grenade

1x Striker                                                                        1x Raigeki

The extra deck should be trivial (1x brd, 3 ametrix, 2 phoenixion, 2 quondam, 1 norden, 1 moonlight, 1 omega, 1 stardust charge, 1 catastor, 1 armory arm, 1 chanbara (though the last 4 are fillers so feel free to replace them with whatever you want)).

Propably not an ideal list, however it works for me.

It's alright; should things go wrong, I could tinker it or make another build altogether.

is this the new "if it discards it's good in fableds" meme?

Yes.

Nah, but really though, if there was a more effective engine that'd take advantage of destruction (bonus if it also makes use of Synchros), I'd like to try that. YZs just happen to be on the brain b/c of that new counter trap.
