so just thinking through

NS Jiaotu

pitch 2, get Bian and Chiwen

Use Brilliant Fusion, pitch Trick Clown and g-k

SS Seraphinite and Clown

Bian + Clown = Librarian

Jiaotu + Bian = Denglong

draw 1 and search the trap/a YZ

NS w/e Yang Zing via Seraphinite

Denglong + Seraphinite = Ultimaya

Denglong shits a tuenr onto the board, or a non-tuner to match any tuner you NSd

Tuner + YZ (+Librarian?) for value, such as trishula

Set trap and get Crystal Wing.

It seems convoluted, but it's up to testing to find out. Speaking of which, have you tested this out already, or should I go test this?

it's a 2 card + 2 fodder combo, it's not that convoluted

this card's effects and defense are unconfirmed, there's nowhere to test it =x

Also DEF looks to be 2300, 2500, or 2800. 2300 is the least likely, with 2500 being most, but 2800 being a baxia nod... Which I guess 23 could also be.

What do you mean by baxia nod? (I never got to play the deck.)

Actually gave some more thought to brifu thing.

Hand: Jiaotu, 2 Jiaotu fodder, Brilliant Fusion

  1. Jiaotu, drop 2 fodders, get Chiwen and Bi'an (+0, 3 monsters on board)
  2. Brifu, dropping G-K + Trick Clown, FS Seraphinite. (+0, +1 if you count BriFu being baxia fodder?, 4 monsters on board)
  3. Trick Clown SSs (-1000 LP, +1, 5 monsters on board)
  4. 2+3/1+4 = Hyper Librarian (-1, 4 monsters on board)
  5. 1+4/2+3= Denglong (-1, 3 monsters on board)
  6. CL2 resolves, Denglong searches Suanni, Chiwen, or a S/T, depending on which you need. (+1)
  7. CL1 resolves, Librarian draws 1. (+1)
  8. NS Suanni/Chiwen, via Seraphinite. (+0, 4 monsters on board)
  9. Denglong + Seraphinite = Ultimaya (-1, 3 monsters on board)
  10. Denglong SSs Chiwen/Suanni. (+1, 4 monsters on board)
  11. Chiwen + Suanni = Accel Synchron (-1, 3 monsters on boards)
  12. Librarian draws 1. (+1)
  13. Accel + Librarian = Stardust Warrior (-1, 2 monsters on board)
  14. Set an S/T. (+0)
  15. Ultimaya SSs Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon (+1, 3 monsters on board)

Results: Crystal Wing, Ultimaya, Stardust Warrior, BriFu (dead), set S/T, 2 cards in hand.

Total net gain: +1-2.

If you draw/searched Path, you get even more value. Counter Trap isn't amazing in this scenario, given your lack of a YZ on board. You can also make a LIGHT Chaofeng with Seraphinite + L4 Denglong, and still go into Ultimaya/Wing thanks to Librarian. This also means that the Counter Trap is live, but doesn't seem worth it to pop Chaofeng.

CotH/Oasis seem dumb if you have them in conjuncture with the counter trap.

The other big issue is the ED devotion required for this. Seraphinite, Ultimaya, Stardust Warrior/Chaofeng (run latter anyway), Crystal Wing (run anyway), Librarian (not needed but value in this scenario), and Accel Synchron.

4-5 slots beyond Crystal Wing and Chaofeng.

EDIT: This is based on the assumption that it SSs from deck, not adds from deck to hand, for the last effect.

The best jiaotu combos will usually involve you getting free scales and pendulum summoning in the same turn, and they should also involve not playing cards like Stardust Warrior and Brilliant Fusion.

for example:

Jiaotu -> Zefraxi + Zefraniu

Jiaotu + Zefraxi -> Denglong

Denglong search Zefraxi

Denglong send Bixi copy level 2

Denglong + Zefraniu -> Baxia

Denglong summon Zefraniu

Baxia target Zefraniu target Jiaotu

Zefraniu search Oracle

Oracle search Zefraniu

1-7 scales p summon 2 Zefraniu 1 Zefraxi

Your board is 1-7, 2 Zefraniu 1 Zefraxi 1 Jiaotu 1 Baxia

You sacrifice getting the counter traps for scales, but if you open scales you can search the counter traps. This at first glance also lets you end with 38 and Void Ogre, or double 38 if you play Luster in your deck.

Alternatively this card potentially opens up new possibilities for Dark Synchro

Open Gofu + Armageddon Knight

Special Gofu summon Armageddon Knight send Level Eater

Level Eater on Gofu

Level Eater + Gofu -> Denglong

Denglong search

Level Eater on Denglong

Denglong send Chiwen copy level 1

Level Eater + Denglong = Formula

Formula draws 1, Denglong summons Zefraniu

Formula + Zefraniu -> Baxia

Level Eater on Baxia

Baxia target Level Eater target Chiwen

Chiwen + Level Eater -> Formula

Formula draws 1

Level Eater on Baxia

Baxia + Formula -> Baxia

Repeat this step for more Formula

Baxia can also revive Armageddon Knight for another combo piece, plus it can pop itself to bring up Chiwen with whatever you popped. Probably not as good as double Sohaya combos but it's something.

I want to make something even stupider that somehow involves Parental Seahorse.

It must be done.

The only card that can realistically summon Parental Seahorse is still Yazi, which you either have to blow up yourself or your opponent has to have a card that Yazi can take down with itself.

I understand that, but for either of those two scenarios not to be live it's either turn 1 or you don't need seahorse shenanigans.

----------------------------

Speaking of which, I did manage to think up a couple of fairly convoluted combo paths.  Keep in mind that this requires some sub-optimal maindeck choices, and it really just a cute option if nothing else.

Setup:

Cost: Jiaotu + 2 fodder; one fodder must be Chiwen, or Chiwen must have a way into the grave at some point (eg. via foolish)

  1. Jiaotu > Ditch(Chiwen + ???) > Niu + ???
  2. Jiaotu + Niu = Baxia
  3. Baxia + ??? > Jiaotu + Taotie > Yazi
  4. Yazi > Seahorse + Chiwen
  5. Seahorse x2 > lvl 1 Token + lvl 1 Token + lvl 5 Seahorse

Path 1:

  1. Chiwen + Token > ???(lvl 2 synchro)
  2. Seahorse x1 > Denglong + lvl 1 Token
  3. Denglong > Search ???(monster)
  4. Denglong > Ditch(Bixi) > Denglong(lvl 2)
  5. Denglong + Baxia + ??? > Quasar/Sifr OR [if you made Formula instead of a non-Tuner] King Calamity/Nova
  6. Denglong > Jiaotu
  7. Jiaotu + Token > Tatsunoko
  8. Tatsu + ???(from hand) > ???(lvl 9-4, depending on what Denglong searched)

Results: Quasar/Sifr/Calamity/Nova + A Synchro; -3 to hand advantage

Path 2:

  1. Chiwen + Token > Formula + Draw
  2. Seahorse x1 > Denglong + Token
  3. Denglong > Search Path [or whatever else]
  4. Denglong + Token > Stardust Charge + Draw
  5. Denglong > Jiaotu
  6. Jiaotu + Charge > Cyrstal Wing
  7. Formula + Baxia > Stardust Warrior
  8. [if you searched Path] Path > Target(Jiaotu + ??? + ???) > Draw 2

Results: Crystal Wing + Stardust Warrior; +1 to hand advantage [+0 if you did not search Path]

In the latter combo route it eliminates the need for BriFu and Ultimaya dedication, in exchange for running the sole unoptimal option of Seahorse.  I think there are definitely more routes for this (one that summons librarian early would be absolutely fantastic), but these are the two best(?) I've come up with so far.  Not great, but cute.

Stardust Warrior is horrible against so many decks. there's no point in comboing into him and he's not worth an extra deck slot.

I mean...it effectively deals with Pendulum Summons, and other inherent threats.  Just it's sheer presence forces the opponent to think of a way around it, and we have Crystal Wing to help protect it.

Now if the situation doesn't call for it, then there are other options to go into for a level 10 synchro, like Leo or Stardust Chronicle.  Hell, considering that combo yields a 5-6 card hand you can even go into a 4000-4800 Ascension Sky Dragon.

  • 2 weeks later...

The sad part about that combo is that Level Eater Spam.combo the deck is still better because it makes a stronger field more consistently.

Also it doesn't force you to run T.G. loop tools, which while freaking brilliant, are ultimately just for shiggles.
