Brave Eyes turned out better than expected (especially considering he actually shuts down any monsters with 0 ATK even past the turn he is summoned.

As for Dragoncalling ... it can make the summon of odd-eyes rebellion easier, though I do not see why that would matter, though he actually reduces the costs for magicians to having magician of destruction, this and 2 level 7s ... which is actually what it always used to be ... also like in the anime it has a random dragon hate effect ... not much to say and even less to care about.

i thought this was them realizing that using odd-eyes fusion using only extra deck cards was a bad idea but then i remembered you can send rune-eyes for this

Right, considering this card is  propably the first odd-eyes fusion to actually make this spell worth maindecking in other decks (though mostly for fun), considering it can be similar annoying to the seventh one without its restrictions.

Edit: Aww forgot fusions restrictions.

Odd-Eyes Fusion

Fusion Summon 1 Dragon-Type Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or your side of the field as Fusion Materials. If your opponent controls 2 or more monsters and you control no monsters, you can also use up to 2 "Odd-Eyes" monsters in your Extra Deck as Fusion Materials. You can only activate 1 "Odd-Eyes Fusion" per turn.

 

It only lets you send "Odd-Eyes" monsters from your Extra Deck to the Graveyard.

Is Brave-eye's second effect only applicable to monsters on the field, or does it work with Hand/Grave monsters too?  If the latter, that's a nice way to kill off a handful of hand traps temporarily.

It does not state effect and mentions no location, while mentioning a global one, so it should indeed stop veiler, fader, scarecrow etc.

Dragoncalling's effect is a first in the game to apply to fusion synchro and xyz material at the same time. Also seems like it has hilarious synergy with buster blader, especially since some variants run magician

 

You beat me to both of these points xD

Dragoncalling is (not so) secretly a Buster Blader support for turning the opponent's monsters into Dragons, and I suppose as a Level7 it can potentially make Rank7s along Buster Blader.

Then its (2) is a nice precedence for card making.
