Yeah, the fact that Enhance is a compulsory Kicker makes it slightly unwieldy, but the usual method for dodging this is to just sequence your plays differently when you don't want Enhanced effects. It's a more controllable Necromancy, in a sense.

 

Breath of the Salamander is really dope. Instakills Otohime board and is still useful early game.

 

Craig opens up new possibilities for Rune, especially considering other Spellboost creatures that make it stronger in Arena. Turn 3 Craig + Emmylou is pretty cool, and if Insight is used turn 1, Craig + Emmylou becomes possible as early as Turn 2. Hail to Rune aggro?

 

Vice Leader Gelt tends to compete with Veteran Lancer. The former wants to come out later after a Commander has been set, commonly turn 5 post-Banner. The latter is more flexible, exchanging power for usefulness at any point in the game.

 

Mastema has mushimaro-quality waifu art, as expected. Already outclasses the underwhelming Beast Dominator for overstatted 5-drop. Drawback is a near non-issue as you still have a big body to smash face with, and innate Bane ensures she takes down anything with her. Not bad on paper. Doubtful she'll be potent in Take2 since the mid-game involves more evo-trading among non-Wards.

I exclusively play control forest so that I can drop 9/9 Master of Canopies on turn 6 and watch my opponents squirm.  I autolose to DS Rune and pretty much any Olivia deck but it's worth it.

Brief reminder on new mechanics:

 

Clash: Triggers when the follower engages another follower in combat, either attacking or defending. Will not trigger when it attacks enemy leader.

 

Enhance: Usually in the form of "Enhance X". If you have X or more available PP, the card will be played for that much PP and gain additional effects. Think of it like an additional cost. For MtG players, it's like Kicker.

Sahaquiel would be great if it triggered Fanfare or didn't limit itself to Neutral. People are wondering if it will trigger Lucifer, but even if it did, it's too inconsistent to be used.

 

Albert is pretty great. Playing him turn 5 saves you the need to evolve for tempo. Playing him turn 9 can close the game. Definitely buying him for leader cuz bishie is love. Going to only buy one of his card with vials for now.

 

Sarissa is too niche.

I hear things like Sahaquiel -> Gilga followed by Gilga again on turn 8 for a quick 10-damage burst. But that feels more like something for Arena.

I would not take Sahaquiel in Arena, it's far too inconsistent.

Well, actually. You can just play Dimension Shift back to back. 2-3 times. It stacks like that. And then end with Daria. Though, her place looks to be in another deck, a new Rune deck all together, so I'm excited to see that.

 

Loving this new set, I will be joining my Dragon brethren as the pack releases, haha. 

 

Stuck climbing A2 at the moment, how are you guys?

Losing streaks to decks you can see actually getting lucky is breaking my will in A2 :c

What crafts do you play?

Thanks! To get to master I used mainly midrange shadowcraft, and aggro/mid sword when there was a lot of haven on ladder.

 

And there were a lot of times when I tilted hard after losing -500 points on one day instead of advancing. Gladly I didn't give up completely. Hope you have luck too!

Steadily started to get annoyed at this game constantly.

 

The game isn't fun when Nephthys is literally a one-card OTK, being able to drop Daria T4 and redraw and restock your entire hand while your opponent just sits there thinking of an out, and other factors that literally just make the game unfun.

 

The game was cool before Rise of Bahamut, but now with the game being as OTK-centric as it is, I've despised it more and more and more with each passing day. Not to mention that 99% of my matchups are against BrokenDaria anyway makes the game literally impossible to find even a single speck of fun anymore.

 

Climbing up through ladder is atrocious because of all those annoying Decks. All of my friends are at Masters or higher while I'm stuck at B because Daria is a broken shitpiece and it's literally impossible to win against unless you're playing Haven.

 

Why did such a great game have to be ruined so badly? How could a game go from being okay to absolutely dreadful in just a few months time?

I'm not feeling the same thing you're feeling; the only OTK I'm actually scared of is Roach, but... I'm probably not encountering the same problems just because of the deck I play. I'm a hardcore Dirt main, which means that a lot of the higher-tier threats this meta get blocked pretty hard. Aggro gets stumped by golem spam, Neph+Morde get whacked by the plenty of banishes I pack (petri/calam), Seraph gets stopped by petri, and Daria either gets her whole field Calamitous'd or can be blocked by golems.

 

But even then, when playing non-dirt decks, I don't often encounter such OTKs. Plenty of Darias and stuff to go around, but I usually got a chance to win.

Aegis is the talk of the town at the moment. People arguing whether it's too busted or too slow to be busted.

 

I feel it's Haven's one break after RoB gave them Eidolon. A few tried to RENOUNCE THEIR FALSE RELIGION but Eidolon was nothing more than the star of a meme deck.
