ATK 1700 DEF 200

You can only use the (1) effect of “Fire Cracker” once per turn. (1) During either player’s turn: You can discard this card; inflict 1000 damge to your opponent, also skip your next Draw Phase. (2) Each time your opponent takes effect damage, place 1 counter on this card. (3) During the End Phase: Remove all counters from this card, and if you do, inflict 300 damage to your opponent for each removed.

O_O

That...name. It reminds me of Synchro Cracker. And Synchros are white-bordered cards.

I know it's NOT intended to be interpreted that way, but it's just kind of funny.

Okay, so it's got a 1700 body, FIRE with 200 DEF...but you wouldn't use this with Rekindling even if Rekindling wasn't...wait, is Rekindling banned, or just limited? Never mind.

Okay, discard and burn for 1000, but skip Draw Phase. It gets counters when burn damage occurs, and during the End Phase, clear the counters, burn for 300 apiece.

Um...Dark Room of Nightmare says hi, but that's all I can think of.

Watch Konami down the road make a Rekindling that adds from the Graveyard to the hand instead of reviving.

Otherwise this is kind of.... really lame. The "skip Draw Phase" turns a decent burn into a bigger minus than it needed to be. The last effect takes a lot to add up.

I think the idea is that there will be no next turn

This card really says something about Konami's design principles when you think about it. We've reached the point where a 2700 archetypal Cydra is a-okay but -1 burn cards still can't do more than a set 1000 with a drawback?

The on-field synergy with Dark Room of Nightmare is fine and can add up pretty quickly if you get multiples of this or multiples of Dark Room out but the discard effect is incredibly mediocre.

the discard effect sets it up in grave to chain CotH and get a counter off its own effect

there needs to be an OPT on the End Phase effect

remove counter -> burn -> place counter -> remove counter -> burn etc

It's implied. (Although these limitations are now reflected in PSCT. But not yet on OCG cards.) Otherwise, you can never move on from the End Phase either.

I don't really think Konami will rule it that it can loop with copies of itself in some sort of infinite loop. That'd make it a 3 card Exodia with 2 copies of an easily searchable monster and having the third card be potentially a lot of cards (Call of the Haunted. Oasis of Dragon Souls, Powerful Rebirth, the limited copy of Rekindling, the limited copy of Soul Charge, and who knows what else).

I guess I could see a "we'll be kicking each other's End Phase effect once each" play, but that's like the OG Fire deck back in the day that used Backfire and Solar Flame Dragon barriers.
