Level 4 LIGHT Cyberse Ritual Effect Monster

 

You can Ritual Summon this card with "Cynet Ritual".

 

-You can only use each of this card name's (1) and (2) effects once per turn.

 

(1) If this card attacks a monster, at the start of the Damage Step: You can return that monster to the hand.

 

(2) You can Tribute this card: Special Summon 1 Level 5 or higher Cyberse monster from your hand or Deck, but it cannot activate its effects this turn.

 

 

Spoiler, its awful. Theoretically it gets better over time as more and more 5+ Cyverse are made, but that needlefiber clause wont age well

Right now I'm very disappointed that Degrenade Buster is a semi-nomi. The only Level 5 or higher Cyberse monster that triggers an effect upon being sent to the grave is White Hat, which, when it's used as a Link material, reduces ATK of opponent's monsters by 1000. That's, handy, but not handy enough to minus into this.

 

Right now it's very bad. It could get better if Cyberse get their own Machina Fortress-style monster, or anything with beneficial/delayed grave effects.

 

But man, if Degrenade Buster wasn't a semi-nomi, this would actually be pretty nice.

Well it's at least nice to have a low Level Ritual, to make your Ritual Spell a lot more alive, though it does very little, and while yeah, getting a higher Level monster can be nice, it sucks that it can't activate its effects. Perhaps we'll get something more powerful to take advantage of this.

Well then, let us compare this to Cyberse Magician:

i.) This card has 3 levels less, so it effectively requires 1 material, instead of 2.

ii.) This card actually has a semi-decent catastor-type of effect, rather than a random, specific +1000 ATK effect.

iii.) This card can actually tutor out high level cyberse monsters, instead of having a crappy, situational searching effect noone would ever be stuppid enough to trigger.

iv.) This card has 1900 ATK rather than 2500 ATK, which does not matter given that this one can actually shield itself from battle.

 

The only really disappointing aspects are that this card does not protect itself if attacked and (unlike all other paladins) cannot tutor out the Dragon it refers to.

This card may not be incredibly amazing, however it is a Cyberse Witch target and unlike Cyberse Magician does not require as much effort, while doing more.

Anyone please enlighten me, why would you ever summon Cyberse Magician over this card, unless you do not care about any kind of effectivity whatsoever ?

because cyberse magician is the ultimate cyberse in terms of attack and defense.

 

but really, while yes, this card is (from what i can see and think of) clearly better than magician, running 1 magician alongside 2-3 of these would still be smart, since they deal with different things.

Honestly I'm really happy with this.

 

The previously revealed Cyberse Witch is very strong, and as I had said, her biggest problem was that Magician didn't do anything. While this doesn't do much, being able to accomplish a small amount is better than accomplishing nothing.

 

Being level 4, it is easy to ritual summon (especially when this and the ritual spell are searched by witch for essentially free) and though the last effect seems over-restrictive, it can only improve with tem as more options are released. As-is, Dual Assembwurm seems like the best option, both as removal and as just a way to put more bodies on board. Not to mention that having a built-in way to put this ritual monster in grave improves the utility of the ritual spell.
