I don't think we should unban Silencer. After all' date=' he DID ask to go, & I don't know for how long.

Some people ask to go, but some just get banned for certain reasons(Warning to 100%, Too Much Spamming, e.t.c.)

Well, I think there should be a "Banned List" to say who's banned & for how much longer or if it's forever.

Also a "Away List" to say who's away & for how much longer or if it's forever.

[b']Just go to a members profiles and see if they're away and when will they get back >.<[/b]

There are many candidates, but I know i'm not one

That was MY two cents

I honestly, I would absoutely love to see the Card Trade section re-opened. I posted in the suggestion section before, but honestly, people didn't take to it too well. Thus, I will post my argument from my older thread. Even though I'm not even supposed to be among this forums right now, I still thing that my view should be heard, for the good of the people of YCM.

Benifits from re-opening Care Trade:

1) People get cards, thus enhancing their Yugioh Experience

2) It helps them Gain Trust over the internet with their fellow Yugioh TCG players.

3) It promotes more uses for Points, ect ect.

Rules that would be established:

1) You cannot be 18 or younger to use the Card Trade section.

2) You must verify you are over 18

3) If you are younger then 18, and you really need to use the card trade section, you must have Parental/Gaurdian permission.

4) If you are caught scamming, you will be banned from YCM AND reported to the police.

I know the 18 or younger rule is harsh, but it promotes the use of getting police involved. You see, if someone comits fraud and they are over the age of 18, they get arrested. If you a younger, your parents get arrested instead, so if your parents are there, it reduces the scam ratio.

Big Deal.

The points system has long died

Hardly anyone is over 18.

2) You must verify you are over 18

Read above argument.

"Mommmmmmmmmy, can I please trade my card with some stranger who could be a pedophile over the internet? pwease =(. Love you mommy =)". Get serious no one will even ask their parents >.>

4) If you are caught scamming, you will be banned from YCM AND reported to the police.

"Mr. Policeman, someone scammed me and stole my cards." Police wouldn't really care besides most of us are from different countries >.>

No you go to Juvie and end up on MTV then get a job singing alongside with 50 Cent and Soulja Boy.

Blame Faint for me posting and notifying me of this thread. But this opinion needs to be said' date=' and spoken in General, which IMO should be true of all forums.

What I am seeing is that the Moderators see themselves as above the other members. When if anything due to their responsibility, should in fact be below. Their job is to watch members and set rules according to them. Not according to their own convenience.

As such, my suggestion/discussion is this;

- All mods should consider themselves below other members, but at the same time on the same level as them. To this effect, they are always Members first and Moderators second. And each new rule or change, is to fit them. Not the amount of stress they may encounter.

[/quote']

Eh I'm not sure if THE moderators really see themselves in a higher position than the other members and if I do, please tell me so as well as when and where I acted like this.

The satisfaction of the members has always been my priority. If they ask for stricter rules, they get them, if they tell me that I became too harsh, I think about it and tone it down, if they want new events and activities, I think about something, etc. This does by far not mean that I accept and apply everything people tell me, but I am concerned with the needs and wishes of the members (although some of the comments I got recently were rather confusing and contradictory, so I’m not sure what I should believe anymore:?). Now that I think about it, if I could arrange everything according to my own likings, I would have shut down post count in Introductions a long time ago, added new sections to General, changed the overall layout of the section into a skin with a neon wiriting over a black background, etc.:P However, I can't do that, not only because I don't have the powers (fortunately), but none of the members would enjoy this.

On a sidenote, I thought about something related... Aren't some members considering themselves as awesome and better than anyone else on the site, too? Aren't they just as ego-struck as the mods you were talking about? Just wondering.=)

I'd like to see more profile options' date=' such as profile songs, and possibly a space for profile pictures? It would be laods of fun, and make the place a bit more interesting.

[/quote']

*loving and noting*

1) Umbra is very skilled at Written Cards' date=' so I suppose he should be the Mod there.

[b']Aren't the Custom Cards mods already in charge of this? But if he wants to, he should ask.[/b]

2) Please turn off post count Introductions. It is an extremely easy way to gain post count, since people could just post "Welcome to YCM, don't spam." in every single thread.

Hell yeah!!

3) AMV Contests should be allowed. Faint and Darth pointed out that copyright got in the way, but after talking with Blood Rose, I notice that my AMV Contest really shouldn't be locked. Technically, people could get this site for making cards. In a sense, making cards via the Card Maker violates as much copyright as do AMV's.

4) Rename "Card Contests" to simply "Contests". Card, GFX, Poke-Splicing, and - if allowed - AMV Contests are all contests, so Card Contests should just be renamed to that. However, since "Card" would no longer be in the name, it should become a Section under "Other".

I personally think it should stay there, as the majority of the contests would still be based on cards, but I agree with the name issue.

5) Make seven stars available. Of course, since YCMaker is the Admin, he should have eight stars. Members with seven stars should be known as "Ultimate Members". Super Mods should also have seven stars, but normal Mods should have six stars. For normal members to gain seven stars, one must have achieved 10,000 Posts.

Good idea! That way, even the very active members with bombastic post counts would still have something to strive for.

6) Replace J-Max. He's left, and although we have plenty of Custom Card Mods, we still need a Pop Culture Mod. I don't know who is worthy of the position, since I don't visit Custom Cards that often unless it's in Contests. I'll leave it up to you Mods and all Pop Culture lurkers to decide.

Do we really need a replacement? Don't we already have enough CC mods, with Yankeefan and hioco having been added?

7) Deck Contest Sub-Section under Your Deck. Sure, only a few pop up in Your Deck, but you never know. worst-case scenario, Your Deck may become cluttered with Deck Contests, so you should make a Deck Contest Sub-Section before that happens.

If the amount of Decks contests increases, why not? I would ask JoC first, though.:P

That's all I have so far, but I think they are all good suggestions worth considering.

I believe that ~Raven~ needs help moderating the "general" section.

Everyone has lives outside of the internet' date=' and I believe that the activity of both ~Raven~ and the super moderators are not quite enough to fully moderate the "general" section.

Seeing that it's one of the most busiest sections on this site, it wouldn't hurt to at least have a discussion on who are the most fitting candidates for the job, along with interviewing and training the candidate(s).

I mean, if you're not satisfied with the effort that has been put forth, you or any other member of the staff have the right to demote the selection(s).

Otherwise, ~Raven~ is doing an excellent job moderating her section, but again, a little help wouldn't hurt.

;']

I know how much you would love to moderate General, but it's not up to me to decide.

More mods from 12am-6am is vital (yes Azuh' date=' u iz smart)

I would also like to suggest some awards (no, not the YCM awards) a bit like a milestone.

Example, if you have created 20 threads, you get the Bronze trophy for thread making. If you made 50, you get the Silver etc.

It would be a nice place for fame, a good decoration/achievement for your profile and just to feel good for yourself.

[/quote']

Trophies?! Wait... yeah!! *runs off to find Jotti*

I could find something for this, however I would advice against giving them out for simply making threads. What if a member posts the same spammy thread 20 times?

I agree with glasstin' date=' not only that but I believe HE is the best candidate out there. He is the kind of person who I would mind controlling me since he knows what he does and what he doesn't and always admits his mistakes. It's really hard to find someone like that. Also the statistics show that the General is a really close second in activity following CC section which has [b']7[/b] dedicated mods, if you count hioco (lolwut), while the General Section only has one who might not really be able to take care of all the spam and rule breaking around here. The ability of Raven's moderating skills are not doubted but her alone could get a difficult job and end in some kind of burnout or inefficiency.

Wrong, wrong, wrong! I need the decent feedback or else I don't know what I should improve on. Questioning yourself and being critical towards yourself is compulsory.

So what? I’m not that kind of weak little girl who gets a burnout about every small thing and who can’t handle pressure.:?

Also one more thing, the number of images in the sig. It wouldn't hurt if the limit was increased to like 5 or 6. The images can be small or even smileys so restricting the whole thing to just 3 images is not only unjust and dumb but pointless. If the size limit was efficiently executed then the sig can remain in a good size while giving members more flexibility. As you saw the charc. size increased by a double to 800 characters and yet the no. of huge sigs hasn't increased and if we can find a way to implement the size limit with co-operation of the members the situation can be controlled.

I agree and in addition, since images can be used to link to topics, I think it would allow us to add more things into the sigs.

Anyway the warning system isn't really good, if you see the way it works in other forums you'd see how inefficient it is. A good way to improve it is strict implementation and slackness towards certain offenses. When a member posts in the wrong section you'll have 5-7 members posting crap like "oh wrong section" and "no wai this will be locked or moved". Since the member might not know of his mistake which is natural only the first member on the thread may post such a message and report this for a mod otherwise the others should post in regard to the thread and wait till it's moved instead of spamming. Not only should this be implemented in the case of threads that are in the wrong place but also for threads that ask a question that have already been answered. I have seen a lot of questions get answered then some fools come and say stuff like "yes he's right that's the answer" or some other nonsense that is unnecessary. In such cases warnings should be given.

They are.

Permanent warnings should be given more often as long as a member can ask for them to be removed once he or she has improved or stopped doing the certain offense and a certain time limit has passed.

These are my 2 cents for now =P

oh and btw unban Silencer =3

Also, about the post above, I don’t want to see those “Fail!” comments again. There are more efficient ways to respond to statements you may not agree with.

Awww. I thought I toned it done a bit =[

MyBB does NOT support any of this, complain to YCMaker about the lack of VBulletin =\

2) Please turn off post count Introductions. It is an extremely easy way to gain post count' date=' since people could just post "Welcome to YCM, don't spam." in every single thread.

NO. Card contest are Card Contest and GFX Contests are GFX Contents. Mixing them together is like saying the showcase section and the Pop-Culture section should be merged together. Also a GFX Contests is pointless since everything will most likely by a battle between two novice members and YCM suck balls when it comes to classing and rating so it's just dumb.

5) Make seven stars available. Of course, since YCMaker is the Admin, he should have eight stars. Members with seven stars should be known as "Ultimate Members". Your core idea is nice, but Super Mods should have nine while normal mods have eight and +10,000 post members can have seven. YCMaker can have 10 or something =\ This will add more stuff for members to strive for. Obviously not me but the other members =P

Not really, we just need a new general mod =\

7) Deck Contest Sub-Section under Your Deck. Sure, only a few pop up in Your Deck, but you never know. worst-case scenario, Your Deck may become cluttered with Deck Contests, so you should make a Deck Contest Sub-Section before that happens.

JoC is best fit to decide whether it is needed or not =P

Just so you all know, there is a Store (and soon Bank) Plugin for MyBB, as well as an Awards Plugin. I hear one of MyBB's top coders is working on a new Profile alike IPB's and vB's too. MyBB is nice IF you don't have much money. I definitely believe that YCMaker has £100 for vB (or £166 if you want Blogs and Features Management too. :P).

Anyway, that's just so you know and so that we don't get the "lolmybbsuxtheydnthavetht" comments.

You're a good Mod, but you alone cannot handle this very popular section. General needs a good and active Mod to go alongside you in my opinion.

That's because the activity is at it's lowest. Also burnout is not the issue, too much work for you to handle is. You may not quit but not everything will be handled smoothly.

They likelyhood of me being selected as a Moderator is low, and even if I were I would reject (Lol, where have we heard that before? But I'm not J-Max) as it would take up some of my time that I could be using on SAW, as you just said.

Also' date=' an Idea:

Why not make a Community Project Thread?

For: Will promote Community friendships, and community spirit. Wee need that.

Against: Might arise some stupid, pointless spam projects...

Good Idea?

[/quote']

Sushi and Star suggested "Forum Events" which is similar to this idea, that would be nice.

Also, I have a suggestion: Remove the "Questions" from "Questions, Comments & Suggestions". It causes people to post there instead of "Help and Tutorials" and that causes mix-ups between the section. I plan to write rules/guidelines on Questions, Comments & Suggestions too. That section is supposed to be for Suggestions and Reviews (Which really does kill out the whole point of this thread).

Cyber's idea sounds great. I think we need that and it would maybe get the mods to really work together again' date=' which is also a problem in my opinion. What do you have in mind for a community project?

Perhaps a Card Making project, considering that's what the site was made for.

Deck, GFX (like tagwalls, YCM needs a tagwall) and (perhaps) ROM Hacking projects would also be nice.
