Guest PikaPerson01
"GAHHH!!! UDE RUINED THEIR NAMES!!!!! BROOKLYN RAGE!!!!" On-topic:The Raging Battle Boosters, which add 100 cards to the game, take elements from the new animated series Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s that will appeal to beginners and anime fans and combines them with some of the best elements of the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG to provide a great game experience for players of all levels. The Raging Battle Boosters include cards used by Yusei, Jack and Aki as well as key monsters from the “Earthbound Immortal” series that boost existing Decks and themes. Ten of the 100 cards are worldwide “premieres” that have never been released before, even in Japan where most Yu-Gi-Oh! cards debut. Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
lolwut. Not even 4kids bothered censoring the Egyptian Gods. I ridicule the necessity of the censorship rather than the censorship itself.
CrabHelmet
They probably changed the name because this series of Gods is pretty much completely evil, whereas the Egyptian Gods are good (or at least not evil, and certainly good enough to merge into a creator god of light or something). Call a good character "God"? Eh, that's not too bad. Call a villain "God"? Cue complaints. But "Immortals" changes their meaning significantly, from "Divine" to "not gonna die soon". >_>
Toffee.
i lol@how an "immortal" dies from a lack of a field spellNot even 4kids bothered censoring the Egyptian Gods. I think I posted this somewahte on GameFAQs at some point: Little 5 year olds(who play/collect/watch the show) dont know who/what Egyption Gods are. Thats why they didnt edit them. bury the year
Now they're gonna dumb down "Ccarayhua" because kids can't pronounce it.
GenzoTheHarpist
This change doesn't bug me, Immortals are cooler than Gods.
Flame Dragon
I kind of assumed they would change the name. Immortal doesn't have the same ring as God, but it could be worse I guess.
Phantom Roxas
I was actually just wondering a couple hours ago what they would change the title too. I was actually thinking among the lines of "Lord of Earth - Ccapac Apu", but Earthbound Immortal is actually a tolerable change.
The Dark One
I'd rather they were called by "God" but Immortal doesn't sound half bad. It's not like the switch from Lightlord to Lightsworn (Which I heartily approved, Lightlords sounded wierd, especially considering that the majority of them are female.), but it's not one of those ridiculous edits that leaves everybody cringing. CrabHelmet
My question: Why not "Earthbound Deities"? It keeps the meaning the same, but gets around the moral guardians. Eh, it's better than Morphtronics.

EliminateHRN
I don't care much. I think Immortals sounds better than Gods. But when I heard of Earthbound Gods, I knew, if they were ever released, they would change the name. But I don't care about the name change. CrabHelmet
That's true' date=' remember Vennominaga?[/quote'] Didn't one of the GX villains use Vennominaga? That establishes a precedent for "Deity" being acceptable for evil cards. ..of course, Marik and some Doma guy used Egyptian God Cards, but shut up, I'm trying to make a point here. Tronta
wicked gods anyone?
CrabHelmet
wicked gods anyone? They never had "God" in the name, although they could be collectively called "Devil Gods", particularly since they were designed as counterparts to the Egyptian God Cards. They were originally called "The Devil's ________", which was changed to "The Wicked ________".
Tronta
ehhh technically, though the wikia still calls them the wicked god cards.im sure theres an evil god card somewhere, though just not a big shiny one.like a little vanilla from gen 1 or something. zera the mant is supposed to be an evil deity, as per his limited story.as well as reshef the dark being.... Mysty
It appears Aslla Piscu and Ccapac Apu have been confirmed for Raging Battle, but not Ccarayhua. Anyway, Earthbound Immortal still sounds okay to me.
