Felix Culpa
What to pick as a starter - Piplup, Turtwig or Chimchar? Umm, wow.. Those are fourth generation Pokémon.. The starters for Black and White are Tepig Oshawott and Snivy.
.Nu-13
I know, genius <_<While I'm waiting for B&W, I re-started Platinum, but I'm not sure what starter to choose And while we're at it, what to choose in B&W?
Tentacruel
Get Turtwig for Platinum, since he's under-rated. For Black and White, I'm not sure what to get. I'll probably do one more run through on my import before the English game comes out. So far, my favorite starter is Snivy/Smugleaf, but I'll probably try the other ones at some point. Well, I wouldn't say Turtwig is underrated. He's actually pretty awesome when it comes to the entire region. Pretty strong double-type evos. Pretty strong double-type evos.I love him, but a lot of people say he sucks due to the low speed and 4x weakness to ice. IMO, ice isn't that common of a type in-game, so who cares? Dark
4th gen starter, personally, Piplup is your best bet. I mean, just think about how defensive that thing is. You probably won't own a Steel-type in your playthrough. I have to disagree, LeoMence. I kind of liked the storyline in Gen IV. 'Twas infinitely better than the storylines in Gens I and II, and more developed (but not more interesting) than Gen III. Eh, I beg to differ. I never nickname my own Pokémon because nicknames annoy me. I agree, but I nickname a few. Like, two.

Yeah, and I mean, it's not like I'm totally against people using nicknames. But I mean, I don't do it. And I, too, enjoyed the Generation IV storyline, but Generation V seems to be more developed from what I've read.
Tentacruel
I loved the Gen V storyline and I couldn't understand what anyone was saying. :o I could just kinda tell what it was about, and it looks pretty well-put-together.

Felix Culpa
Well Team Plasma (this is awkward. That's the name of the evil team in my ROM hack!) are trying to free Pokémon from the enslavement that Trainers put them through. ANIMAL RIGHTS! bury the year
http://bmgf.bulbagarden.net/blog.php?bt=119284 Someone found a leaked list that matches up with what Serebii just released. It supposedly came from IGN, so I'm gonna hazard a guess and say that these are the official names. *commence shitstorm*

It supposedly came from IGN, so I'm gonna hazard a guess and say that these are the official names. *commence shitstorm* Lists like that were posted on Smogon and disproven. That looks like the same list. People are suspicious 'cause of a few fan names in there.
Phantom Roxas
http://ds.ign.com/articles/114/1143911p1.html That's the list on IGN I saw. What I don't like is that a lot of the names seem to just be homophones. I also feel bad for Deskaan getting the name "Cofagrigus." Since a lot of the names on that other list sucked, I'm glad it's fake.

bury the year
People are suspicious 'cause of a few fan names in there. ITT, fan names == false. A large enough number of monkeys can write Shakespeare. And let me restate my original post. The fact that Serebii.com, a widely-accepted source of reliable Pokemon information on the web, confirmed a sampling of the names on the list after it was posted makes it just a tad more possible. However, if IGN's release on the confirmed names came before the list, then my entire counterargument is wrong. Sue me. :| @above: Axew sounds like "achoo" to me. Reminds me more of Kumasyun. Phantom Roxas
Except Serebii sites IGN as the source, and IGN shows screenshots, but the list on Smogon was indeed first. I just don't like how a lot of the names are homophones. Imagine if you say a Pokémon's name that sounds like something else. It's just confusing. Besides, Kibago being "Axew" is going to start stupid "gesundheit" jokes, and I just feel bad for Desukaan for being called "Cojabronirigus". bury the year
Homophones as in English with Japanese names, or homophones as in English to another outside word? EDIT: Oh. Didn't read close enough. And it's not that bad to me.
