Kay, so I have the updates. Five of them, because I haven't updated in awhile. Most of them are requests, but some were songs I just wanted to do. <3

The next channel will either be the Request Channel (name needed!) or the Battle Channel (name needed!), so look for it. If it doesn't come within the next week, it is guaranteed to come on Saturday (provided someone reminds me).

Today, we have two Generic Radio Station songs, two Tune Nostalgia songs, and one Goldenrod Tower song.

When you guys give requests, I'd love an overdose on Megaman and Pokemon (nonbattle themes) songs. So, if you guys can do that, awesome.

I'll update in a second...

Here's some

This is a Final Fantasy XIII soundtrack i found that sounds like something off Pokemon. (No seriously. Or at least something from Nintendo). and the other one is just nice: (And oddly enough Primarch Dysley's voice actor is the same as Mewtwo's in the First Pokemon Movie) (XD. Resemblance)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkWspKrlE4g

And also 2 Modern Warfare 2 soundtracks since one of them is too short:

Also, battle channel name i would suggest "Battle of Fate" or "Battle of Destiny"

Taking a break from TSG just to explain something, Miror B., he looks like this:

Miror_B_by_emlan.png

His team is nothing but Lotads/Lombre/Ludicolo, each fight he has more of each evolution set, with his battles having 6 Ludicolos (which dance to his music).

That is all, I'm gone again.

Okay, you guys are awesome. In the last four posts alone, I have OVER 9000 requests to choose from. <3

But today, I'm saying "screw you" and not taking any requests. Only one update today, but it's a beautiful one.

Yeah, spoilers, but next channel will either be remix, request, or battle.

Most likely the first one or the last one, but I'll try to get both of those channels in the near future. Request can come later, I guess.

Argh. I was going to recommend SS Anne and Flower Garden. D:

And intelligent12 stole Pulse de Chocobo. Whatever, I'm still recommending it, so you better put it in. <3
For Generic]
Pulse de Chocobo - Final Fantasy XIII

I think what I like most about this song is that it has a lively feel to it. It doesn't feel like some composer just threw in a bunch of crescendos and different beats. To me at least, this music feels like it's being played by real people. The jazzy feeling this piece possesses is so refreshing, and the breakdown section at about 2:20 is awesome. Check it out, please.

Track 11 - Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin (Sega CD)

My brother was playing this game about a week ago, laughing at how unbelievably terrible it was. The graphics looked primitive, and the dialogue was ridiculous. But, then I listened to the music itself. I can guarantee that the gameplay does not reflect the music. At all. I fell in love with this one track in particular, its driving beat and awesome solos kept you cruising through the (pixelated and laughable) city.

For Goldenrod Tower]
Friendly Battle - Pokemon Colosseum

I see no Colosseum music on that list, which makes me sad. I thought this game was going to be ridiculous, but the music and the game itself still remain one of my favorites. In fact, every track from Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness is incredible. You should take a listen. It's a shame that this music only plays during the first battle.

Final Battle - Pokemon Colosseum

Once again, more music from Colosseum. This music plays during the final battle against the enemy Boss. It inspires you, but it also has a darker feel to it that reminds you that evil is still present. At least, that's what it feels like to me.

For Nostalgia]
The Moon - DuckTales (NES)

Before you laugh off this game, let me just say that it's actually worth a play. The Moon Theme still is one of my favorite VGMs, pushing the NES to its retro limits as you bounced on enemy heads with Scrooge McDuck's cane. <3

Staff Roll/Credits - Blaster Master (NES)

This game is awesome, but the ending is more awesome. Starting off slowly as you look out over a setting sun, the music abruptly speeds up as the credits start to roll. Still one of my favorite video games, and one of my favorite VGMs. ^^

Coincidentally, my Let's Play of that game also ended today. It was quite obvious I'd choose an ending theme, since this does signal the end of this thread. However, we do have new, competent ownership, so I'm not worried. The song speaks for itself. It's calming at some points, dramatic at others, soothing sometimes, and action-packed during others. That really sums up my feelings about this thread and my Let's Play in general. It's been a really fun ride, and I had fun working with all of you here at YCM (and those that watched my LP on YouTube =P). This thread really means a lot to me, and I'm glad I got all of the support I did. This ending theme really summarizes everything I wanted from this thread. It signals the end of a golden era, but that doesn't necessarily mean things are going downhill. You guys are awesome, and this song is dedicated to all of you. "Thank you all. We need to do something special for you, my heroes. Let's go into the castle, and bake a delicious cake." Not exactly how it was stated, but Peach's ending message in SM64DS. I love you guys for this thread, I really do. <3
It's a short piece, sadly, and it's from a game I never heard of. I'll get shot by Shradow for saying that, I know. It sounds repetitive, doesn't have much of a mood, but one good aspect is that it is orchestrated beautifully. Depending on where this song is used, it could greatly improve or destroy the game. For some reason, I am getting a classical music feeling from this song, because of the way it was composed. I can't say I love the song, but it's a good start for TWEWY.
I'm a damn sucker for piano songs. This just sounds so calming (and fairly easy to play, so I should learn it). To be quite honest, I stole this from Alfred-Kun's signature, so credit him for me putting this song in. It sounds amazing, especially when the sound effects come in at around 1:00, because the whirring sound makes it sound more like a galaxy. I wish this song could be used in a place where it'd get more attention (World S map, or overworld theme), but nevertheless I love the song.
Alfred-Kun never fails to impress me with his choice of music. You don't understand, this song is just so calming and beautiful. In his post, he pointed out that the instruments were added one at a time. While that is really cliche for video game songs, this particular song banked on that and made it sound amazing. I don't know why, but this song is just extremely hard to stop listening to. And once it gets into the dramatic tune (around 1:40), it just shows that this song can transition really well. An amazing LoZ piece, to say the very least.
Someone lied to me and told me to put Throwback Galaxy in here. But it was already there. D:< So I had to get this song randomly from my iTunes. And at least it's a Galaxy 2 song. Yeah, nothing more needs to be said about this song. If you don't want to stand up and start dancing (even if you don't know how) when you hear this song, your ears have some problem. It's not the best song of the game, but is high up there, surely. Okay, be right back. Dancing. <3
Wow. Shadow Yoshi, this was an awesome request. We all know how much I love piano music, and we all know how much I love Final Fantasy. But this... this is what modern orchestrated video game music should sound like. The top two rated comments say that this song kept them on the menu screen for an abormal about of time, but who can blame them? I'd listen to this song over and over just to get a feel of the emotion it brings. That is what I love about Final Fantasy music, you never know what to expect, except a great piece.
Oh, wow. Saint Dane, this is just awesome. It sounds so bubbly and happy. It has an 8-bit feel, which doesn't seem all too suitable in this case, but it's Zelda music. Just shut up and listen. Wow, that music just made me really happy. I don't know the context in which the music is used, but I love it. A short track, yes, but it just embeds such emotion into you. But no, I don't want to dance. I'm not a dancing person, really.

Twig... this is beautiful. I never actually payed attention to this song, but it really is a work of art. The chime sounds fits the purpose of this song a bit too well. I could honestly listen to this for ages. I could put this on full volume while I sleep. This song is just composed amazingly, and more songs need to have this kind of depth and emotion. It's amazing how easily you can pass over a gem of a song, but now... now I realize how amazing this song really is. Beautiful, no other words are needed. <3

Flandre's Theme from Touhou: Embodiment of Scarlet DevilFirst Touhou theme in this thread, requested by Saint Dane. I don't know, during the middle portion it sounds a bit... eerie. And the girl with the fire doesn't help. But overall, the song sounds really cool overall. I'm not sure in what context the song is used, but it seems to fit either an overworld theme (dungeon, or something), or a battle theme. Either way, this song hopefully reflects the rest of the music in Touhou, because it sounds downright amazing.

Lunatic Princess from Touhou: Imperishable NightMarisa requested this song, and I like it from the first second it started. A few seconds into the song, you definitely get blasted with the "lunatic" sounding beat. Again, it sounds very much like battle music, but I can't really confirm that claim. Despite that, it's orchestrated very well, it's a fast-paced song, and I'd love to import this into a Mario Kart game. I just get such a good feeling from Touhou songs, and I must admit that the composer is up there with Nobou and Kondo.

Silence and Life from Eternal SonataThis pretty much shows that once you show me a good song from a game, I'll delve into it myself and find other tracks. I found this without help from anyone, and it's just beautiful. I'm a sucker for piano music, granted, but this track just has emotion embedded inside. I know I say that about every sad, piano track, but it still holds true regardless. I can definitely see this being used in an emotional cutscene, and somewhat reminds me of Aerith's Theme from FFVII. I guess the emotion is the same.
I spent ages trying to find a Pokemon song that would fit the bill for this update. And after searching through at least sixteen pages, I found Flame Dragon's request for this song. It's an upbeat song, although Lake of Rage isn't the happiest of places. It sounds amazing, and I think this is one song where the 8-bit version has more emotion and depth than the new(er) version(s). You can just sense that the composers wanted to make a lighthearted song for the middle stage in a game, and it was created wonderfully.
Okay, excuse me for this not being a song in this thread until now. It was in the back of my mind the whole time until Jord posted it, and then I felt compelled to bring it here. There is nothing bad to say about this song, so you should just copy/pasta the link and listen to it and see if you get its feel. It has a traditional Japanese feel with its instruments, but still sounds like amazing battle music. The song is put together well, and is all-around amazing. And it is catchy, which just makes it all the more better. Great song, and required listening if you play Pokemon.
Jord is the only one I can rely on anymore to have good Pokemon songs. This one rivals S.S. Anne in terms of awesomeness, although this one is a lot more downcast and less recognized. It's not a ghost ship, just a stranded ship where you can get Ice Beam (only important part about it). The music is so fitting, and definitely carries a lot of emotion with it. I just absolutely love this song, and that is the only reason I'd go to the Abandoned Ship in my RSE playthroughs (and maybe for Ice Beam, if I need it).
Twig must have versed her a bunch of times for his ear to catch this song. It was always a song I disregarded completely, because I just wanted to beat her ass and start the end-game stuff. And who repeats the Elite Four except for grinding when you don't have an AR? But wow, I know that it is possible to play on the piano, but it sounds difficult as hell. And fun. It's rare to see piano-only music in video games, but this song milks it for all that it's worth. Amazing.
Jord requested this. Seriously, he owns this channel. Now, I own Pokemon Pinball RS. Fun game, really. Not as fun as the mainstream games, but what can you expect from spinoffs? But this music is just awesome. I don't know how much it suits a water titan like Kyogre, but I like the beat a lot. Definitely catchy, although the background beat is very, very choppy. Nonetheless, this is an awesome song, and I love it. Oh, and from what I can tell, the foreground music is piano. Oh yeah, more piano tracks. <3

Friendly Battle from Pokemon ColosseumHaha, Clair requested some really upbeat music today. The first few seconds feel really nostalgic for some reason, but I don't remember hearing that tune in past games. Despite that, this song just sounds so awesome. It's not something you hear from mainstream Pokemon games (think RBY Wild Battle theme), but regardless, it does sound like some mountaineer theme, and I can see how you'd battle someone to this music. It is a friendly battle, after all. And this theme, also the Turnback Cave theme, is amazing. A lot of people say it doesn't hold up to Lavender Town's theme, but it's not really supposed to. If you are really tired and play this song at midnight trying to catch Rotom, you can bet you'll be a bit freaked out. This theme definitely shocked me. It's not aiming to be like Lavender Town, but it has the same feel, and I feel it really capitalized in the eerie-sounding music. I fell in love. I can't really say what country it's supposed to sound like, because I'm not entirely sure. It's definitely some kind of Middle-Eastern spin, and it suits volcano music really well. While Stark Mountain was a really boring dungeon, this theme alone fixes that entirely. I could listen this for hours on repeat, just because it sounds so awesome. Love the beat, love the use and types of instruments, it's a Pokemon masterpiece.

Champion Battle from Pokemon (Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald)I've gotten this request a lot of times, and I never added it, just because I like the other Champion themes better. But now it's time that I add it, just because we don't have enough Gen III music in this station. The reason I don't like it is because the feel of it sounds a lot different from a normal Pokemon Champion Battle. It's not as fast-paced as I'd like it to be, and when it deviates from the main theme (into that low, monotone), it sounds really awkward. Nevertheless, I don't mind listening to this whenever I beat Steven's Metagross. =)

Great Iceberg Peak from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of the SkyTwig, you are definitely runner-up for being the owner of this station. I don't like PMD games that much, but I am predispositioned to love their music. And boy, do I love this music. It is orchestrated so well, and just holds emotion. The high-pitched instrument definitely gives it a sense of an iceberg, or at least someplace cold. I could honestly listen to this song for hours, and am looking for an extended version right now. This sounds like cave music, absolutely, but it also suits the way Mt. Coronet is framed in DP. It's this really sacred mountain that has many mysteries behind it, and holds legends, but also has a calm, snowy portion at the top. And this music captures all of those elements and incorporates them into one song. The shift in tempos is obvious, but well done. I never owned Mario Kart 64, sadly. I own the DS version, and I don't think that Rainbow Road track can compare to this one. Despite me not having the game, this evokes such emotion from me that I cannot even explain it. It's an upbeat song for the final track in the game, and it was orchestrated masterfully. I just want to hum the beat out loud, seeing as the song is so damn catchy. It has a bit of an 8-bit feel (although not entirely), so it can bring about some nostalgia. Okay, ZeroChill is awesome for bumping this request, since the first time it was posted was awhile back. Without the sound effects, this song wouldn't carry the emotion that it does. It seriously sounds like a carnivorous plant is out to kill you, and will do anything in its power to burn an Italian's ass. But jokes aside, the song is really well made, especially for an old boss battle (that wasn't the final boss). But again, the sound effects hold the main theme together, and I couldn't see this song without them.
Saint Dane would have kicked my ass if I didn't post one of these Clock Town songs soon. But I listened to this one again... and oh my god, a murderer appeared behind me and killed me. No, but that is the feel you get from this song. If you listen to it, it sounds upbeat and happy. But if you keep listening to it, you hear a downcast town, and it makes you feel like this is the ironic tune you'd hear in a horror movie. GUESS WHO REQUESTED THIS? Clair, yet again. Anyways, just read the title of the song before you listen to it. If that isn't the most apt title for a song name, you can shoot me straight in the chest. It sounds like it takes place it an aquatic area (beach? underwater?), and it sounds very ambient. It reminds me of Dire, Direm Docks, but not really as calming to me. Regardless, this is an amazing song, and will go in my iPod right after I'm done with this. I never knew how good DKC music was (or DK music in general) until I heard this track. <3
0-Chill, say that again. Diddy Kong... RACING? The hell are you going on about? Whatever, I'll assume this is the counterpart to Rainbow Road for Mario Kart... RACING. While it is obviously not as good of a track as Rainbow Road, I like this a lot. It sounds like racing music, for one thing. Y'know, as long as it's in a calming enviornment or something. The beat is just so damn catchy, and I just can't get it out of my head. I mean, I haven't even fully listened to the song more than once, and I already know most of the beat. But considering the context of where the song is used, it doesn't need some super-stellar orchestrated work of the gods. Despite being fairly short and repetitive, it captures the fairy fountain's look quite well, and gives a calming and high-pitched sound that suits the mood. If anything, this request by Alfred-Kun confused me as to what channel it should go in. It was in MPC, but it wasn't a copy/pasta transcription. It actually was a remix, so I posted it here. We all know the nostalgia and emotions that come about from listening to Gusty Garden. And while a remix may ruin it, whoever made this did it perfectly. Okay, so I really hate having to use songs from actual games in this channel. But Galaxy 2 (and Galaxy 1 for that matter) have an amazing arrangement of remixing old songs, and this is no exception. You should all remember this as the main battlefield theme in Super Mario 64. The saxophone is pure sex, and that is the only thing I have to say about that. This song is the dramatic, kick-ass beat that Cyrus needs. While he did get it in DP, I like this version better. What particulary catches my ear is between 1:50 and 1:54. That was masterfully produced on MPC. I am really loving this song, seriously.

Castle Pandemonium (Piano) from Final Fantasy III had to watch the original before reviewing this song, because I've never heard it before. Thanks to Tainted Black for the awesome request. I feel that the pianist is playing a bit faster than the original, but no matter. From what I can tell, it was flawlessly executed. Since I'm a piano-nut, I feel the song sounds better on the piano, but since it's in a castle setting, it doesn't sound as suitable. I want to learn the song, definitely. Seems fairly easy to learn and play, so I might make the investment. ^___^

Song of Healing (Piano) from Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.I was actually inspired to update this song from a post that told me to update Song of Storms. I liked how it sounded, but like the fact that this song carries a lot more emotion with it. As always, the piano player is generally flawless, and you can really feel the emotion spewing from the instrument. I guess that's one thing I like about the piano. While it does make everything less dramatic, it carries emotion better than other instruments. An amazing song, and an amazing piano cover. What more can you want?

Zelda's Lullaby (Piano) from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of TimeYou know this h2g2 person? Check her out, I love every single one of her piano covers. This one, particularly, sounds the best on the piano. Flawlessly executed, and makes me want to fall asleep after a warm glass of milk. I actually hum along to this song whenever I hear it, just because it holds such a meaning in my music life. If you are reading this, I suggest you check out the player, as she has other good music. Wonderful song, beautiful cover, in a nutshell.

Italy Boss Theme (Mario Paint Composer) from 8 EyesAlfred requested this. Yeah. I've never heard of the game, but still. I saw Italy, attempted to listen for an Italian tune, and I somewhat heard a classical Italian tune. Not completely, but it's video game music. What do you expect? I do expect this song to be played for some Mafia Boss during a cutscene where he is smoking a cigarette cursing out the main character. That would make my life complete. If you didn't already realize, I love this song. <3

Bob-Omb Battlefield (Guitar) from Super Mario 64Yes, I found this by myself. And yes, it's an instrumental remix that isn't piano. There is a music skip, and if you know the song well it's quite obvious (I was multitasking while listening to it and it caught my ear instantly), but the actual remix itself is beautiful. During the beginning, it takes a really light approach, and doesn't sound as dramatic. I would hate to play this song in-game, but I really love how the guitar sounds in conjugation with this song. Not video game music, per se, but I still like it a lot.

Dark World (Piano) from Zelda: A Link to the PastTainted Black really caught my ear with this song. In fact, the only reason I know this song is because of DemonTomatoDave (and his cover), so when I heard it, I instantly and naturally starting singing the lyrics. While the audio quality of the video itself could have been improved, and definitely how the right hand got softer at random points in the song, it is still an amazing cover. There are not many actual note mistakes, and definitely sounds like the cover. And now, listening to the original, it does sound pretty accurate.

Zanarkand (Violin) from Final Fantasy XI'm testing out new instruments. Hell, now I have some guitar and some violin. I might get some ocarina stuff for the last update, I'm not sure. Anyways, this is beautiful. Anything associated with Zanarkand is automatically a plus, but now that it's been turned into a violin cover, I love it even more. While it's not really the full song, you can hear she played the piano in the background (on her computer, probably) which amkes it sound like a full orchestra. I don't know much about the violin, but it sounds a-ok to me. <3

Town and Market Themes (Ocarina) from Legend of Zelda: Majora's MaskWow, a MM song on the Ocarina. For some reason, that just sounds so epic in theory. And it's masterfully displayed in the video. Upon receiving the channel, Saint Dane went a little bit out of his way to get this song for me. And knowing how much of a MM freak he is, he'll be happy I chose this. It doesn't sound as "creepy" as the original one did, since the Ocarina gives a high-pitched sound that results in a cheery mood, but I still feel it sounds like a market theme. Hey, I'll buy two arrows. What?! Only two?!

I listen to most of the requests if I have time when looking at the thread. Otherwise, I listen to them when I am getting a song for the thread.

Maybe two updates today? You'll see in like an hour. Oh, and thanks for making this so popular. <3

EDIT: You're doing a great job with so far. Keep it up.

I'm pretty sure that is the only compliment or encouraging post I've gotten in the entire thread. :P

Just wait like ten minutes and I'll update.

EDIT (2): Okay, so three updates today. One of them was a request, one of them was my choice, and one of them was my choice, but it's from Megaman, and some people requested Megaman songs. So, updating N0WZ0RZ.

EDIT (3): Done. You'd think that a Generic channel would have more songs than a specific channel. But this is YCM, nothing works the way it's supposed to. <3
