I'm starting to think you people are blowing this sliiiiightly out of proportion.

All of the countries you listed have nearly, just as or a more of a screwed up economic situation/political situation as America does. You just don't know about it because you don't live there.

Stupid bills come every now and again. Occasionally they pass. Usually they're never enforced, or if they are, it's a short matter until the courts strike them down.
It's not just this bill I'm worried about, it's the state that the entire country is in, and the fact that it doesn't seem to be getting any better.

Same here. Obama wasn't exactly wrong about the fact that the political leaders can't work together, and the public has to pay the price for their disunity

Hell, they could grab anyone here.
Then I'll sue them for touching me. But in all seriousness, this is retarded doesn't affect 90% of the world, can't be enforced, won't pass, and it further proves America is run by a bunch of incompetent fools.

If it's a bullsh*t move like a lot of people are saying, then it will probably be the political downfall of whoever passes it. Almost like how Republicans absolutely hated Social Security when it passed and vowed to get rid of it next time they got into power. 18 years later, they realized how stupid of a move it would be because of all the people who had made plans based on Social Security. Same situation. If this makes as much of a change as people are seeing, sh*t's gonna go down.

Only on YCM is Obama an evil conservative. Obama does care about the people, and he is trying to help, it's just that all the republicans are going TROLOLOLOLOLO in his face and won't let him pass anything/get anything done. Go watch american news sometime when Obama is on, and go look up the definition of conservative.

Well hopefully the Republicans will work for us and somehow stop this from passing.

The government is being ridiculously slow in their minds. What exactly is going in the U.S. that has sparked such a law to be in the embryotic stages?

The Middle East War is coming to a close, and/or people are mostly uninterested. They're trying to get something else to rally against and fight, but the Internet? lol there isn't a nuke powerful enough.

Obviously a conspiracy approaching.

But they could at least try to compromise rather than not letting him do anything, then telling everybody he's a bad president because he can't get anything done.
If you put it that way, it sounds like their just selling him off so that by 2012 the Republican branch might elaborate the hell out of the situation and overpower democracy.

We all know the Republicans are trolls, but they're not the ones that thought of this. That being said, the Democrats are just as bad at compromising.
Either way, nobody seems to give a sh*t anymore except Obama. At least that's how I feel, being neutral and all.

Obama's the one that thought of this bill.
Meh. Could benefit from it cause most media is viewed by free-loaners.

I guess I could live without the internet. I've basically dedicated my life to it before I moved and lost all my friends. Now I'm just doing stuff for my own personal entertainment and socializing less.

Smith’s Stop Online Piracy Act is aimed at foreign sites dedicated to pirated material, but Web giants such as Google and Facebook and telecommunications firms say his proposal goes too far, making them responsible for shutting down bad actors.

Please at least research this stuff.
