It used to be unlimited until Konami saw how crazily powered it is and limited it. (EDIT: Then it got banned until 2004-10. Thanks British Soul.) It does really useful things, like stealing your opponent`s dead EoTB/other-monster-card or bringing back that 1 monster your opponent just destroyed you now need to Xyz or Synchro Summon. But still, it isn`t totally OP`d, one of the reasons being because you can`t use it on ALL the monsters. Some monsters you need cards like Monster Reincarnation to bring back to the hand because that`s the only place you can Summon them from. I like it because it's the only viable card which allows you to access your opponents graveyard and use your opponents fallen monsters against them. Also, the Japanese art is much better. In this day and age...it's not a fair card. I'm not positive why it's not banned when Call of the Haunted is at 3, but like BLS and Dark Hole, they evidently aren't causing enough fuss. Taking an opponents monster isn't as common as reviving your own, but being able to take an opponents monster is the main thing that makes Reborn good for the game. evilfusion Posted March 31, 2013 Report Share Posted March 31, 2013 Problem with the OP is that Reborn IS broken. It has no cost. It can Special Summon from either player's Graveyard. It's a Spell Card, so it's fast and has limited vulnerability, the Summoned monster can attack, use its effects, be Tributed/Synched/Xyz, there's no drawback to the card whatsoever. The only monsters that can't be revived are the ones that can't be revived by anything. That's a balance on those cards, not on Reborn. If they banned this, people would probably be happier, not unhappier. Reborn is too powerful and good at what it does. Call of the Haunted is much fairer, slower, and has drawbacks and it's allowed at 3 now. It fits into almost any Deck without question, and is not needed for the Decks to thrive. People usually rage when a key card in their Deck is hit, like Tour Guide, Rabbit, Inzektor Hornet, etc. The current format seems to be focused on swarming with monsters ludicrously fast, and Reborn helps this immensely, especially with Solemn Warning bumped down to 1 now. Yeah, it could make you draw 2 and add up to three Left Leg, Right Leg, Left Arm, Right Arm and Exodia the Forbidden One from your deck, grave, RFG or card binder to your hand.
