Premature Burial

So, can anyone please remind me why this is banned over Reborn?

Discuss.

It's searchable/recyclable with Hidden Armory, and Brionac/Trunade (both banned now) could recycle it without destroying the Summoned monster,

Right now, it's probably Hidden Armory keeping it banned.

Is this and Action Unit the only Equip Spell Cards that can be activated without having a monster put first? I always thought that was interesting considering other Equip spells must be equipped to a monster in order to activate

Gagagarevenge and Galaxy Zero and Spellbook of Life

So only revival cards, I believe.

and Symbols of Duty

and Symbols of Heritage

and I believe that is all (plus the above mentioned cards)

and that Beastlord Volcan, and that Gravel Storm, both can have Premature Burial re-use too.

I remember the time when this was the most balanced of the 3 (Monster Reborn, Premature Burial, Call of the Haunted) because it was as slow as Monster Reborn, but more stoppable, it had a cost, and it was as restrictive on it's targets as Call of the Haunted.

Then again, Nobleman was more broken than Giant Trunade as well.... how times change huh?

It's not Hidden Armory that's keeping it banned. Searching/retrieving it with Armory is fine because it also takes up your normal summon/set. It was mainly an issue because of cards which can bounce it, particularly Brionac. Now that there are almost no good cards which can do this, Prem would be fine to come back and wouldn't cause much of a stir.

More or less, yea, Hidden Armory is part of what makes this an issue.
Yes, this has all the same gimmicks(to an extent) that Call has, except instead of being a Trap, it has a Life Point payment. Also, it's faster.

If it wasn't for Hidden Armory/stuff like Mist Valley Falcon Call is probably better than this because it's chainable, can be played in the End Phase and can be activated at any time.

Really I think this could come back over Reborn if Hidden Armory is hit, but I'd rather this be banned than Hidden Armory hit.

I repeat: why would anyone care about this cards interaction with Hidden Armory? If they use armory to get it, then they can't normal summon or set, which is a pretty big thing and actually adds more balance to it.

I'd rather summon a monster from my grave than Normal Summon or Set.

since when? because last i checked this particular format, the META if you will, has a relative scarcity of normal summons outside of fire fist. if youre gonna argue a stupid point, at least try to do it as intelligently as possible.

Right, because Verz and Prophecy don't normal summon at all... And as if both of those decks don't have better options than to waste deck slots on a relatively mediocre engine like that.

And most decks that do normal summon do something powerful/important with it, and will often be better than a special summon from their grave.

I'd rather do both, and many times, I'd actually rather do the latter. Special Summoning 1 monster from your Grave and not being able to normal summon is just an average, and sometimes even sub-par play. Not to mention Hidden Armory can be quite dead and cloggy at times and also takes up deck slots which could be used for better things. Some decks could utilize the engine decently, many more however, could not and would not.

verz would use xyz reborn over this anyways because that comboes with ophion.

prophecy dont normal summon nearly as much as you think. especially once judgment or priestess show up on the scene.

you mentioned one anti-meta deck (anti-meta=/=meta) and one deck where you are wrong about their amount of normal summons. hmmm, yes. totally convinced. youve certainly done a good job proving somethahahahahahahahahahahahaha sorry. no.

Exactly, Verz have better options, as do lots of other decks. Not many decks are going to give up slots to run Armory's, and if they do, the payoff isn't great anyway. Prophecy have their own themed Prem which they can get for free with Judgment, search it much easier than Prem, use it to fuel other cards like Fate, recycle with Tower and Alma, and use to summon Priestess. So yeh, pretty sure Prophecy wouldn't even bother with it, and if they did, big whoop, it would make hardly any difference to the way the deck functions, if any. That's the point here, Armory is no reason to keep Prem banned, it's a terrible excuse.

It only takes one.
