Zazubat
What are examples of skill cards and what makes them skill cards? I always found Infernity to be pretty skill based. Sure, they do have Archfiend and Launcher which are pretty crazy, but most of the cards are very skill based from the looks of it.

Lonk
I always found Infernity to be pretty skill based. Sure, they do have Archfiend and Launcher which are pretty crazy, but most of the cards are very skill based from the looks of it. Well, they would be skill-based if they didn't revolve around spamming Archfiend to get his eff off. OT: Ironically, Archfiends have become somewhat of a skill-based Deck since timing is everything in the Deck. Trick is consistency, but Genesis and Empress, the bosses of the deck, along with commander, require a crapton of skill to use to their maximum effectiveness. Also, Chain Dog. mido9
Things that give you lots of decisions but only usually 1 optimal decision. Like with how wind ups you had a trillion billion plays you could do with wind up magician and shark against any field. Or infernity.
Sora1499
Duality is decently skillful because A. No SS clause means you have to stop and think "Can I make a play now, or should I wait one more turn to duality? And if that play fails, can I recover?" B. The pick 3 allows a player to either go for the card to match the situation or for the long run.
L0SS
Duality is decently skillful because A. The pick 3 allows a player to either go for the card to match the situation or for the long run. I agree with that. Duality is an advocate of decision-making, meaning that you have to think both about the short-term and the long-term. It can also open up a few different ways to tackle a situation. I think flexibility is the key to any skilful card.
Mr. guy
I think fabled unicore is a skillful card. It makes you ask tough questions about which cards you should set or play, and forces your opponent to be careful about their hand size at all times. Aerion Brightflame
Obligatory Solemn mention. Since, it's normally the card that distinguishes between a good player and a bad player, as well as requiring a decent amount of thought and consideration to them. I'd want to say Galaxy's, simply because the amount of planning you have to do because there's real way to recover lost advantage easily.
Sleepy
Surprisingly, I think Lance I wouldn't really call skillfull. It has many choices and is a very good and versatile card, but when the time comes when you have to do something, it is pretty obvious that you have to do something, and because of this card's broad use, it's really easy to decide to use it much of the time. I mean it's not exactly dumb either, but I don't think it really makes you sit down and think that much.
Blake
Dark World Dealings, Infestation Pandemic, etc. are deck specific cards that gauge the skill of the player.
Thomas★Zero
Forbidden Lance possibly since its either used as protection or to surpass your opponents powerful monsters.
The Warden
I always found skill to be pretty lacking in the current meta. But I find my definition of a skill card is one that is not always stellar, but can create some pretty amazing plays when used right. The one defining trait is that it can't be used mindlessly, it has to be played with care to receive a reward, not like some other cards I could name. I wouldn't call the Solemn Dup skill cards though. Sure, they have some niche and might require thought sometimes, but given the many circumstances I've been in they're pretty much no-brainer winmoars. Toffee. Cute Rotten Yoshika
Every time someone Sets at least 2 cards, I GUARANTEE YOU, at least 1 of them is either Bottomless OR Warning. Predictability, or overly paranoid. Both are correct. not in hero beat, by a long shot. especially when the deck has ~30 backrow cards (including normal spells set as bluffs) and bth+warning is 3 of them. anyways, good skill cards are the solemn duo (less so when used when youre already ahead but thats honestly the case with any card. it takes more skill to get ahead than to maintain advantage), cardcar d, duality, breakthrough skill, some others i cant recall off the top of my head. Lonk
Dark World Dealings, Infestation Pandemic, etc. are deck specific cards that gauge the skill of the player. Unfortunately, the amount of DW decks that are being played makes DWD's general use outside of FTKs almost non-existent.
