Elder God Noden

Recommended Posts

People have known of this card for a few weeks now.

Also, I found this hilarious video (skip to around 5:30 to watch the duel that's actually relevant to the card in the topic. Also, I'm not saying the video is here for anything other than a few laughs):

Synchro or Xyz Monster + 1 Synchro or Xyz Monster
When this card is Special Summoned: You can target 1 Level 4 or lower monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it. Its effects arenegated, also banish it when this card leaves the field.

Too broad? Is Super poly/Instant Fusion to blame? Is it perfectly acceptable ? Discuss.

Noden in particular makes Shaddolls much more consistent and provides more outs later in the game, particular in OCG/TCG games utilizing the TCG list where we can't abuse Avarice to reload the deck.

Instant Fusion in general is an excellent card in Shaddolls now, as you can forcibly fire off any Shaddoll Fusion by bringing out Midrash, or putting Noden on the board to bring back a material. In this way Instant Fusion combined with any Shaddoll and Shaddoll Fusion lets you go into any of your Shaddoll effects immediately. Even moreso once the Water Shaddoll Fusion Monster is spoiled.

I love the Super Poly play myself, although the possibilities supplied by Instant Fusion are great as well. I wouldn't describe it as busted (although we'll see), but it's a very fun card that looks like it's going to open up a bunch of interesting plays.

What hit does it deserve and why, if you don't mind me asking?

A limit at least.

It's never done anything relevant enough, but a card that's a free monster on board for 1K isn't healthy for the game, considering how overly versatile it is. Assists in many, many OTKs due to its very nature, and is just a generally bad card for a gamestate to have.

It's also just gonna get better with time, as seen with the last 3/4 fusions: Midrash, Panzer (though lesser), and Noden, with Nephilim not being a target.

Elder God Servant

Rk4

Fairy/Xyz/Effect

ATK 1900

Detach 2 Xyz Material from this card; then target 1 Level 4 monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target in face-up defence position. You cannot (bunch of restricts that don't handicap Noden in any way)

Everybody quits! :mwahahaha:

Also, I'm using this. This is definitely making an appearance.

For nowadays, it's gonna keep Extra Deck over-extension in check, which is what I think Konami wants to do. I'm in for enforcing conservative plays rather than throwing hand into the field for a huge OTK combo. It also serves the agenda of trying to even up the ground that Extra Deck focused decks have gained over the years. On that, Super Poly is fine to me. Double Quasar stealing just made it look more troublesome than it will probably have.

At the same time, I think giving them a Special Summon effect is just wrong. Or maybe it's Instant Fusion's fault here, after all being a Fusion is already warranting some investment, and shortcuts like that shouldn't be a thing. If anything, the old non-effect Fusions are perfectly fine, I'm waiting for someday that Konami wants to make a Miracle/Shadoll/Gem-Knight/Instant Fusion for those unsupported obsolete little fellas [/inb4MasterofOzisnotlittle]

>makes Elder God Noden
>people realize how broke it is
>Konami responds by limiting/semi-limiting Instant fusion instead

...or bumping the price of Instant Fusion, cuz you know, Konami.

But hitting instant fusion is overall more important than this ._.

Like Super Poly/CotH exist to abuse it beyond a single Instant, but instant is still a bad card for the game.

Also, Konami doesn't do anything with singles prices except lower them with reprints. The player base makes the price go up when a card is valued higher. So don't blame Konami for that.
