"Posting Mannerisms"

So... Out of curiosity, does anyone else do things that are oddly specific when they post?
I sometimes post with large purple text, use "n' junk" as a description for a large quantity, and use "meme arrows", among other things.

Obviously mannerisms only really apply to speech/etc, but you get the idea.

There are three modes for me.

this is the mode i use the most often in personal communication, as it's easy and quick.  no capitalization, but correct punctuation is a necessity.  my chat logs are usually riddled with smiley faces ^ -^

When talking officially, or posting on the forum outside of misc., I tend to use this style.  I feel like I come off as a bit too serious, but, well, I'm okay with that.

aND THIS IS THE STYLE I USE WHEN I FIND OUT THAT A NEW POKEMON GAME IS RELEASED OMG

So, yeah, I do have different posting mannerisms, depending on the place and what's appropriate.  It's an interesting thing seeing how other people handle it.

I USED TO TALK LIKE THIS LIKE A LOT.

Don't forget the occasional Wiseman quips that would never be acknowledged outside of green text.

I also used the word "like" a lot in forum posts within the past couple years which boggles me since how could that not be completely obnoxious.

But most importantly, I tend to start a new line for every sentence or two that I type. I dunno why, it's just something I've always done and will probably continue doing, to be honest.

I'm not entirely sure if my posting mannerisms differ much from my speaking mannerisms. My word choice is often a crucial element in my...no seriously, I actually talk like this!

Granted, it's without the fumbling that my mouth is prone to doing when I try to articulate...

Okay, being AWARE of how bizarre my word choice is can be really distracting.

I do tend to start a lot of statements with some useless word or preface, such as "Okay", "Granted", "Typically". In a sense, I think I do that to prevent stating an opinion as a fact, or to otherwise eliminate emotional bias from coming into play.

I am now bolding my "useless word/preface" in the above post. Just as an idea of how often and subconsciously I do this.

I post differently depending on the section, I've found.

In Showcase I just say whatever the fuck I want, fuck grammar, fuck people's feelings, fuck convention. It's my section, with my kido's, all about shit that I like to produce. So there's a sense of belonging I suppose and with that there's freedom that comes with it because I know those guys wouldn't judge me for the shit that I say or do.

With General I tend to be more understanding of the people around me, out of respect more than anything. I'm also far more distant I guess, I try not to be too personal.

With Literature it's kinda odd actually because, I'm joking no one fucking goes there.

In Other TCG Decks, I post full on reviews to decks that peak my interest for the particular reason that people need to get on my level. I want to help people get better so that Modern is more of a format that people know how to play and can strive in.

Showcase is shit. Everyone in there is shit. Especially Mademir. Only 3 members post art, and I will never be one of them. But I love everyone there <3, so I am shit, too.

Really depends on section.

Introductions, I usually go a semi-formal route; make sure newbies know to read the rules, open the door to my message box if they need help and other stuff.

Custom Cards, essentially enforcer when I do my mod duties (tell people to obey AC if they're breaking it, lock necrobumped threads and some things); properly review crap in CC and compare them to whatever card I can recall from Konami.

TCG, basically try to post like I have an idea of what the hell goes on; and not look like an idiot.

Polls (especially with the GPT), basically write definitions and I suppose, debate my stance over what I vote for, and why the other ones weren't getting.

A lot of times, cold descriptions come out.

---

But I tend to use the word "stuff" often; as well as use "[x], so...."

Yeah, I have a few quirks.
