TEAM BEAR PREVAILS (1st time :D)

Thx Snatchers, apparently this thing works x)

Omg he was so garbage. That wasn't even a ladder-ready team (which I can give you, if you want). It's definitely not supposed to work, the low ladder just...flounders when it comes to logical reasoning.

Next time, though, you should have just used Mold Breaker, cause that would have ruined his sturdies. Then use Beartic to kill Rayquaza

If you want to battle me sometime, that'd be cool

won against Mr. Spaz in a good game

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/tiershift-405081823

Spaz M'boy, relied too much on the Focus Sash set up, with an Electric Type in your face and a priority Mon in the back.

Malamar was an odd choice to send in on Scizor XD Seemed you didn't have much Fire on your team and that was an issue.

But damn, Bear is scary.

And such we have our final three.

http://challonge.com/wfu9ot12

Next match is Reptilious vs MiracleGhost47, loser gets 3rd place, winner goes on to the finals!

Maybe we WILL be able to finish this before my birthday :o

I used to be the same, until they installed the "ignore opponent" and "ignore spectators" options.

To make sure you see this :)

Did I really make YCMons instead of writing? Yes, of course.

If something should be changed, mention it.

I didn't write IVs or EVs. They should be importable.

Congrats!

The double dragon tail miss was painful.

Then double para too sheesh.

Turned it around in the end...with some hax. XD

So MiracleGhost is now 3rd place. Stalfos and Reptilious must battle for first. Remember if Rep beats Stalfos then he has to challenge him once more. Due to double elimination.

You can decide on your own if you want to do both in a row, and if you want to allow team changes.

Also since Stalfos is gone for a while sadly we will likely have to wait a fair bit.

However I do know what I want to do for next tournament. Since we did an odd tier we'll do a normal one. One we haven't done yet surprisingly. PU.

Did I just see someone Belly Drum on something with attack boosts and priority?

TWICE

THREE TIMES (granted at least this time he had priority but it was KELDEO AQUA JET)

Perish trap Azu what

AND THEN TO TOP IT OFF SOAK QUAGSIRE...ON SOMETHING WITH PROTEAN

And on to the next with Hone Claws 1 Physical Attack Diancie. Why did it do so well and why did you Ice Beam?

This was a trip

I was Shadow Ball/Thunderbolt/Ice Beam/Nasty Plot. Ice Beam was the best option.

Just ended my current run in a battling league I'm in with a few other guys. First time doing one of them, and I placed fifth overall out of twelve guys (before the final tourney) and made it to the semis. Not bad, but I wanna try to do better next time. With that in mind I wanna get my idea for a team together now, before the next draft in a month. This was what I had this league:

Keldeo, Mega Charizard X, Klefki, Nidoqueen, Ambipom, Victini, Conkeldurr, Gourgeist-Super (swapped in for Trevenant halfway through), Armaldo, Galvantula, and Milotic.

I want to do better this time, and I've got a few ideas, not a complete one for the full 11, though. Keep in mind, a traditional draft system isn't used, we use a bid system where we start with 100 points and bid for Pokemon (8 minimum for OU mons, 6 for UU, 4 for RU, 2 for NU, and you can also bid a minimum 25 for an Uber-tier non-Legndary like Mega Salamence or Greninja if you draft it within the first two rounds), so being sniped is less of an issue, but you can end up with a Pokemon you didn't necessarily want because you were trying to force people to use up points (how I ended up with Victini, actually, though that panned out fine).

Any suggestions you guys have would be amazing. Here's what I'm thinking of getting so far (I need to have exactly 11). Backup options are also appreciated, in case bidding doesn't pan out. Stuff across several tiers is good too, as it helps save points. Theoretically I could have a team of all OU mons, but it isn't likely to happen.

Gliscor- Great defensive mon that has the ability to work as a wallbeaker as well as supporting with Stealth Rocks and the ever-valuable Knock Off. It's also my favorite Pokemon, so that's nice. Backup- Bronzong

Slowbro- Pairs great with Gliscor as it resists everything Gliscor is weak to, as well as Gliscor covering his Electric weakness. Additionally has easy recovery in the form of Regenerator and Slack Off. These guys form the defensive core. Backup- Empoleon, Milotic

Kyurem-Black- Gets great attacking power and also resists types Gliscor and Slowbro are weak to (Water and Electric, respectively). Backup- Mega Charizard X

Mega Gardevoir- Offensive Fairy types are pretty damn invaluable, given some of the stuff the other league members like using, particularly our founder's favorite use of Mega Sableye. Access to Psychock meaning it can hit both specially and phsyically makes Gardevoir very useful. It's weakness to Steel types is also assisted by Slowbro, though the mutual weakness to Ghost type hurts a bit. Backups- Mega Altaria, Mega Diancie

Tentacruel- Acts as hazard removal in the form of Rapid Spin while also offering Toxic Spikes control just by switching in and by setting them, while being very specially defensive as well. Poison typing also makes it capable of absorbing Poison-type attacks aimed at Gardevoir. Backups- Latios, Latias

Gourgeist-Super- Offers invaluable status in Burn as well as being a Spinblocker. Can also sow Leech Seed among the enemy team. Backups- Dusknoir, Eviolite Dusclops, Cofagrigus

Any ideas you guys could throw in the pot would be awesome, and critique on my current selections is appreciated as well.

DRAFT I FORGOT ABOUT THAT.

Reminds me that after next tournament I'm debating doing a draft league.

So idk if I should give suggestions ;)

But I'd say.....maybe Registeel for lower tier. Steel would be nice.

Thundurus could work well

Pls don't use registeel, it's sheet

Almost all Shell Smashers are good, even Omastar. Gourgeist isn't bad, but I prefer Trevanant for the Harvest shenanigans. Eviolite Clefairy is also technically bulkier (but lower hp) than Clefable, I think, so if you want an S-Rank on your team for low bid (whatever that means), go for it.

Mega Kangaskhan is the best non-legend uber, imo. It's just too strong.

Accelgor is a good low-tier lead, with high speed, spikes, and Final Gambit. Magneton is pretty close to Magnezone if you're specs, but remember to only use it as a steelkiller

Also, don't funk with Sawk. Sturdy makes an amazing Talonflame lure. Gastrodon is also hella bulky.

Ditto is fun to meme with, too, and can sometimes mean an ez KO on frail opponents with a scarf.

Evio Ferroseed could work as a steel type since it has recovery.

Most of this is terrible advice for a draft.

Accelgor, and some of the shell smashers, maybe Ditto, are likely the only ones worthwhile here.

Most drafts don't allow Uber but idk about this one.

What's a draft

Isn't Talonflame good or smth

I was just giving advice for low tier alternatives to OU mons

A draft is...Well you and your "league" enter a draft where they go through picking Pokemon (I think 16? somewhere around that) that they can use sometimes it's done by tier, sometimes by points. And you can't pick a Pokemon someone else has.

So there aren't specific Mons that you have to worry about, just whatever is on the opponents team

Which is why advice can only go so far. Cause it depends on what others pick as well.

Also everyone knows what you have so they can build around certain mons easier.

If you think we can pull that off, given how many players dropped from tournaments. Multiple players dropping from a League would likely kill it..

I recall that Rai did a League thing once that died off for this reason. As much fun as a League thing would be, one must consider that YCM - be it for irl issues or otherwise - generally has the attention span of a newborn goldfish. Something that requires a longer commitment like this may not be the best idea.

That said, if we go through with it anyway I'm all over that.

If we manage to get enough players interested, we could try it in sort of a tag team style - that means every team has 2 players, they draft together and build teams together (and practice too probably) - and every team has 2 matches against another team each week or every two weeks or whatever interval, That way, we'd have the ensurance that if someone is out, we can a) search for a replacement and b) have the remaining guy in the team play both matches in the meantime.

That would require more organization and an even number of players, though.

That's why I'll run it and use my host-fu to destroy those who ruin my idea :T

Also to be fair there's usually just one person who drop out of tournaments on average. I'm sure I can only get people who will keep going.

My ability is not Defeatist.

I think tag team would be even worse because it means having to have two people work together which would basically have the same issues but doubled.

I can make this work. I just need to have a rule set and go around getting only those who will actually stick around.

So Stalfos is somewhat back so hopefully the tournament can have its finale soon X3

Also I just learned Rotom-Fan is now PU. Which makes sense cause it kinda...was never used even in NU. But it makes me sad cause now there isn't a Rotom form in each major tier (besides Ubers and LC)
