New-Year's Resolutions

(GigaDrillBreaker)

Recommended Posts

  • Get a job. Right now, doing volunteer stuff at my martial arts club if that actually means anything.
  • Do better in college. I'm getting pretty tired of repeating every calculus course I've taken since entering the university system (this will be the 2nd one for calc 3).
  • Learn to code stuff in YGOPro (I probably might learn a few things from that programming course for engineers I have to take in a couple weeks)
  • Stop procrastinating on stuff.
  • Get better at GFXing and the metagame.

Really don't have much else; probably will add more later if I get any.

The struggle is real.  Calc 3 was a bitch so I just took a different class as a substitute which thankfully I can do in my major.

Unfortunately, civil engineering requires that I take it for my major [and Calc 4], so no getting around it, unless I switch to a different path.

If I could take it at a community college, I would do it, but the university is a bitch about certain classes because they aren't "up to standard"

(Keeping in mind that they have to keep it high enough to compete with the Asian students [from China/India mostly] coming in every year, instead of local kids.)

Calc 4?  Eck.

Typical University bullshit.  Luckily I was able to take Calc 1 and 2 (and Chem and Physics) at a community college.   I don't think I could handle it at a university.  They're usually way harder and the math department at my uni sucks.

-Pass my Driving Test. I really have bad coordination and I have a complex that makes me afraid to get penalized for my actions that I either bail from pressure or get scolded either way. I failed twice already but I have perfected Reverse K-Turn and Parallel at least.

-Stop procrastinating.

-Stop being a lazy lardass.

-Do better in college. It's my first year, already taking advanced level courses, and grades are pretty mediocre. I should be able to accomplish high GPA next semester.

-Get back to the gym and getting fit.

Okay CowCow here for some advice. As a chronic procrastinator. (In school I would convince teachers to give me extra time, because of procrastination. And then I'd procrastinate more.)

Just do it. I know, it sounds stupid. I thought the same. But my daily writing goal has taught me that, yeah, just tell yourself to do it. And make it happen. Stop yourself from making excuses, realize WHEN you're beginning to be lazy, making excuses and stop.

Become less bad at LoL and Hearthstone.

...I could probably think of actual serious stuff, but meh.

For some people LoL and Hearthstone is a religion, it's some pretty serious stuff *shot*

You know, we always talk about our resolutions, but we never talk about meeting them. This is because either A. they don't happen or B. We forget we made them but meet them anyway.

Any of you guys have stories about meeting your resolutions for New Year's?

More things I'm going to try doing this year [2015]

  • Be more active on my fanfiction (off YCM); and eventually post it here. Just need to clean up some fluff in there, considering content spans from early 2010.
  • Get my driver's license (I'm 20 and don't have a license; blame it on summer school)
  • Keep my body in shape. (I would like it if my weight stays around the same this year; right now, around 158-160 lbs [I probably gained a little bit from eating a ton of cookies I got for Xmas])
