Finally, the archetype gets more Main Deck monsters; also Revolution Force turned out to be quite the versatile RUM indeed.

Mimicry is amazing, oh god. How much it enables things....

Revolution Falcon and Blaze are pretty sweet, stats aside. If they get their other RUM though, it'd be wonderful.

The RUM gets upgraded, damn. It's really good now. You can chain it on 101 or Castel, or to a revived Dante, which is pretty damn sweet.

All in all, satisfied with these. Now to wait on the other RUM and the traps...

So...the Main Deck RRs are all going to have "Lanius" in their names. But are they any good?

Mimicry Lanius...if it was Summoned that turn, you can boost all RRs by 1 Level. That's...really solid, and gives RRs access to some good Rank 5s, including that one that needs Level 5 Winged Beasts, but I forgot its name. This combos extremely well with Vanishing Lanius. It's also got decent stats of 1100/1900.

It also can search out a RR card by banishing it from the Graveyard during a turn it was sent to the Graveyard. Combos well with a lot of things. This could explain why Shun runs Unicorn Beacon. It's very nice.

Then we have Impale Lanius. It can Book of Moon a monster the turn you Summoned it, and if you attack, you can SS an RR from the Graveyard (hard OPT clause). This combos SO well with the others, and makes Blaze Falcon more likely to be Summoned with its normal Summoning condition.

Revolution Force...we don't seem to yet know anything about Raptor's Force? But anyway, looks fairly versatile in the sense that you can Rank-Up during your turn by using a RR, OR you can Rank-Up during the opponent's turn by using one of their Xyz. Unfortunately, that Xyz has to be depleted already, which makes this conditional, but certainly interesting.

As for the Xyz, Blaze Falcon is slightly nerfed from the anime effect, in that you need to have Xyz Material for it to attack directly. Revolution Falcon is interesting, but not particularly good. It seems to have another anti-SS effect that turns opponent monsters' ATK to 0 when it attacks them, and it has Rise Falcon's ability to attack all opposing monsters for a detach. But if it has a RR as Material, it can also half-Volcasaurus.

I really don't like how they're all Laniuses. They could've been other birds of prey.

That aside I'm so goddamn happy they turned out this way. The maindeck monsters are good and Blaze Falcon's practically untouched. Meanwhile, Revolution Falcon is <3. If we get the Raptor Traps printed, they're all even better. And I really hope they get a lot more than this.

Revolution Force's versatility makes me think Konami saw that people liked Quick Chaos being good utility. Now to hope Raptor's Force is buffed too.

You know all of that bashing I did towards the Raidraptors?

...I kinda take some of it back.

The deck is not gonna become amazing, but it's now got incredible amounts of viability and potential to do damage as a Rank 4 and Rank 5 Xyz Deck.

My only question is WHY DID SHUN NOT USE THESE OTHER LANIUSES BEFORE?!?

Fun things to note:
vanishing + mimicry/vanishing + RR-Nest = Search with RR-Nest, Stryx searches, then you can search the RUM/another bird with Mimicry.
V + M + Swallow's Nest = Mimicry searches RR-Nest, Nest searches whatever, Strux (henceforth owl) searches another.

The RUM is live off of basic combos, so it's not terrible.

This deck can access Zereort into FA-Crystalzero Lancer, if you so wish. More importantly, it has access to both Zerofyne and Key Beetle.

This deck can make 101/C101 without needing a RUM.

This deck will be the optimal utopia deck with time, considering it has good R4/ (Leo Arms) 5 access and ways to roll in advantage to work with Xyz Change Tactics.

It's all just a matter of more members.

Well maybe we'll see him use these when he next duels, but it is nice to see more MD monsters for RRs though. There shouldn't be an excuse for him to use just the one monster from now on.

That's true; hopefully he actually does or whatever thoughts about Shun being bland as hell will still hold.

Anyway, I am liking the RUM; opponent's turn effect will be really fun against opponents after they expend their resources (especially on 101/whatever requires to detach all their mats). The general RUM thing is still okay though (your turn's one).

Mimicry helps them make Blaze or whatever R5s they want (there are some good targets though, but meh).

Impale softens up stuff, and can help swarm a bit when it strikes. (Attack with this, SS Mimicry, boost Level to 5, Xyz in R5 of choice during MP2; assuming you actually can destroy stuff + survive). Its stats aren't too bad, and probably can take down some things when needed.

Revolution Falcon essentially says "screw you Extra Deck" and a lot of other monsters that get SSed lately; much like Rise (anime), hits all of the opponent's monsters but isn't limited to SSed things. Any confirmation on what its DEF is, though?

Blaze is still same like the anime, from what I recall.

(This is that R5 that needs Winged-Beasts)

I agree, he has the opportunity to become less bland and put some more variety in his plays.

I predict the next Shun duel as this:

Me: Come on, Shun, use Impale or Mimicry; even Force Strix would be better than just--

Shun: I spam 3 Vanishing Lanius and overlay them into Rise Falcon.

Me: ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!

That's pretty much the censored version of how I'd see it:

Me: Oh for fuck's sake

Whilst that does seem likely, I don't think that'll be the case

If I'm reading this right, Mimicry Lanius has no once per turn clause on the first effect at all. Basically you can activate it's effect 4 times and make Felgrand or 6 times and make Gustav.

This might be due to an early translation but if this goes unfixed, shit may get real.
