Voting against yourself isn't against the rules and is actually commendably noble, but it also defeats the purpose of anyone voting for you if you yourself believe your opponent deserves to win more than you do.

Ooooooooooooorrr, you're being respectful to your opponent. It's essentially "The Gentleman Vote" as a tip of the hat to your opponent, or saying "good luck," as it were.

Though the 3-way battles make it a bit more annoying as you need each of the 3 members to vote for a different member to make the gentleman work, which doesn't help in such cases as my match where I put my vote to Toyo, Toyo put hers to Zazu and Zazu was nowhere to be seen.

It's probably due to Zazu not coming around in Polls that he didn't contribute.

Looking at the brackets, there shouldn't be any more triple fights for the rest of the round.

I apparently put Maki twice on the list, so we really have 52 players in this match. (As such, one of the double matches from batch 2 should've been saved until later)

----

Some matches are turning into runaways for certain members.

----

As for Striker and the loser's bracket, that'll help; though you'll have to wait until Monday since batch 4 needs to go up tonight.

As Giga mentioned, this works on a nomination basis.

No one put you up for consideration; that's how you get into these tournaments.

Perhaps you would've been nominated had the cap been extended to 64 or something, but I can't really say now.

Your best bet is to wait for YMB 7 to come up at a later time.

I should start it either tomorrow or Wednesday, but yes R2 will be coming up.

Let's see what fate has in store for all of us.

Next round will only have 1 3P match (because my match ended up in a draw, which I should be grateful for [and I am]); but things should be easier to coordinate at this point.

I need to update the main post, then gather all of the winner names and randomize the brackets.

-----

As mentioned, I use RANDOM.org to determine the pairings; so if popular members once again have to kill each other, there is nothing I can do about it.

kill each other

Well that sounds excessive...

Anyway, the system should THEORETICALLY find the overall best-liked member (unless people enact kill lists, which sounds like a horrible plan given the nature of this) so in the grand scheme of things, matchups matter very little, if at all.

In any case, I am hyped to get shunted out of this.

This isn't the GPT, so we shouldn't have kill lists (although some might already have them due to stuff).

As for that quote, that basically means "if members have to face each other next round, and they're member favorites", then I can't do much about it. Members aren't literally going to shred each other to pieces.

We'll see how fate pairs you, Giga; although depending on how the pairings go, either you get your wish or you stay in contention for another round or something.

I mean, the point I am making is that if you are considered less popular than literally any member in this tournament, the system SHOULD prevent you from ever getting ahead of them, thus meaning that matchups are irrelevant. Stressing over ending up against somebody as iconic as .Rai is kinda silly considering that, eventually, you will be beaten by said person anyway.

Shit, that sounded hopeless.

[glow=red]Luckily, I don't care about the results.[/glow]

Well if the round robin I did last time showed me anything, it's that popularity isn't a list, it's more like a web chart (or whatever you call it). So different people can win different matchups that a list would say they would lose, depending on the person they're going up against.

For example, I made top 8 of the YCMB V, but in pools I lost a matchup to Trap Kirito.

It can change from person to person based on how close you are to them and things like that. Not every member is going to really know every member or have the same opinion of each of them, so things can change from matchup to matchup.

But yeah, popularity isn't a one-dimensional variable that scales up and down.  It's based entirely off of human interaction which isn't exactly a simple thing.

Its also about Forum Presence. I am just glad that people have now overlooked my troubled past and accepted me a member again. Thank you for getting me to Round 2
