Select 2 of your removed from play monsters (1 Psychic-Type Tuner and 1 Psychic-Type non-Tuner), return them to the Graveyard, and Special Summon 1 Psychic-Type Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck in face-up Defense Position, whose Level equals the total Levels of the returned monsters.

 

 

Yes the card is real. No that isn't the art. 

 

Seriously though, this card is silly.

Its a good card but Psychics are just way too mediocre right now since they are slow and inconsistent.

 

I would not call Psychics mediocre at all. Emergency Teleport is amazing as always and they do have a lot of other searching power such as Serene Psychic Witch and Overdrive Teleporter, and a Double Summon in the form of Brain Research Lab along with many other cool cards.

 

Anyway, I use 1 of these in my Psychic-Type deck. I think the main problem is that you have to summon it in defence position and it can be dead early game, but overall it is a good card. I like using it on an HTS Psyhemuth banished by its own effect, so I can summon it again with Silent Psychic Wizard.

Similarly to Charon, it can't synchro summon, otherwise it loses its utility.

Returning an overdrive teleporter and psychic commander to summon overmind archfiend is legit.

Summoning in defense is quite annoying, but it is easy to see why. Being quick play would have been super cool.

That is honestly debatable. The fact that this card doesn't use up a normal summon is very relevant, and since when was "gimmicky" a word we used to berate cards?

No, I mean....
Psychics never really became that devoted to the whole Banish theme they wanted to go about inserting into them, and you would typically need to jump through some weird hoops to play This card.
Charon, however... Charon merely needs a Fusion of a relevant Level in the Graveyard and it becomes a matching Dragon-Type Synchro. Not to mention, Charon is also searchable.

Wish there were better targets for this than Overmind Archfiend personally; it doesn't help that Psychics are subpar as a deck.

 

This is only loosely related, but what was the point of making the Psychic Type anyway?  If I was seeing them for the first time, I'd think they just seem to be for Spellcasters what Wyrms are for Dragons.

It sounds a little bit too restrictive for the time.

 

The materials need to both be Psychic, the monster it Summons has to also be Psychic.... Cards like Advanced Heraldry Arts need a theme-specific requirement on one end, but not both. Though that on itself isn't really terrible.

 

The monster is not a Synchro Summon so it won't be coming back, and needs to be in Defense Position so it can't be all that aggressive of a play. During the time it was made I could understand how it was a balancing trait to not push as easily for OTKs with cards like this, but nowadays it sounds a little bit like overkill to have all the above.

 

It further specifies the requirements by needing a Tuner and non-Tuner, so you can't really splash this card in, say, Ritual Beasts (whether it has good targets in the Extra Deck or not, that's another matter).

 

The banish theme of Psychics is fun and is ok, but I can't help but think it needed a little bit more. Well, nowadays it definitely would need more support.
