Tinkerer
(Not sure if this topic would go here or in another section) Hello, fine peoples! So I was riding the bus with my little brother the other day and he asked me: "what is the most powerful Yugioh card?" To be honest, I was stumped and immediately started limiting the question (ie. You mean the most powerful monster? General use card? Unlimited/unbanned card? etc.) That said, I decided that the community may have an answer. So I'm gonna ask it in 2 ways: 1. What's the most powerful card in general (banned or unbanned). 2. What do you thing is the most powerful support card that doesn't directly relate to an archetype. ihop
1. Painful Choice 2. Painful Choice
~Faytl~
These days I would say Djinn, since it's become enough of an issue everyone runs an out to it now.
Tinkerer
Yeah, I told my brother "Sixth Sense" since it is a potential +5, but I wanted to see other answers.
ihop
These days I would say Djinn, since it's become enough of an issue everyone runs an out to it now. I was fully preparing to disagree strongly with you on this but actually you're probably right. Its power obviously depends on what you're playing against (Qli hardly care, say) but against any deck it's good against the Djinn lock really is this massive threat everyone has to prepare for. I mean, the fact people are playing Exiled Force and Cameraclops in 2015 shows that, as well as the fact that people are topping major events playing decks more or less completely revolving around the Djinn. Trebuchet MS
Sheer power goes to either Sixth Sense or Pot of Greed. Painful Choice is about as powerful as the targets it can dump, and the resulting combos that ensue. It's not for every Deck, but so many things benefit that it's a powerful support. Expelsword
Sixth Sense or Painful Choice do way more than any card should.

It is for every deck. Everything played it. It's a deckthinning +0 at worst.
Ryusei the Morning Star
Going to go out on a limb and say Chaos Emp pre errata or Imperial order now
Expelsword
It is for every deck. There's so few decks that can't benefit from a couple cards in the Graveyard that's it's ridiculous - even if you discount it entirely, you're still getting SOME card from your deck. VCR_CAT
If we're talking tournament legal, and ignoring summoning conditions for the most part, I'd say Quasar is the most powerful. Including banned cards, it was definitely Chaos Emperor Dragon before his errata.
~British Soul~
I'd also have to say Painful Choice. I'm sure we could all imagine how bad the format would be with that @1 these days.

Ryusei the Morning Star
Could someone please explain to me why Painful Choice is so broken? Look at future Fusion. Now cross that with Gold Sarc and take away any negative attributes
Blake
Could someone please explain to me why Painful Choice is so broken? Well, let me use Shaddoll as an example. I choose El-Shaddoll Fusion, Shaddoll Fusion, Shaddoll Core, Beast, and Squamata, for arguments sake. Which of those do you let them have Beast? Okay, Core gets back either El-Doll or OG Fusion, based on situation. And you have a beast ready to set over something. Core? Okay, squa dumps another one. Squa? Okay, Core still hits the bin, you still have fodder. etc. That's an example of a deck that really benefits, but very many decks have means like this. Ryusei the Morning Star
Jesus Christ. Pretty sure Future Fusion (pre-rumored ruling) was Jesus Christ...Painful Choice goes way beyond that. Strongest unbanned card at the moment? OCG top 5: BLS, CED, HFD, CDI, Soul Charge TCG top 5: Rai-brokie, BLS, Soul Charge, Nekroz of Trishula (???) Djinn Releaser? something like that

Ryusei the Morning Star
Funny you mention SDB...I remember the February 2014 format where that was actually a very popular side card against Chronofact Burn. Fun times. Its not broken at all IMO. Don't see why TCG banned it outside of hating the random troll Ramble aside. Seeing that TCG is likely going to get CED and DMoC in the Battle City pack...do you guys realize how god damn strong that card is gonna be in a format with 1/3 the traps of the one it currently resides in. Would not be surprised if rebanned

Would not be surprised if rebanned Because in TCGland, people were making decks designed around it to tie until EOMP, then siding into burn to win. It's an absolutely atrocious method to win, and it shows how low people will go just to win. That said, pre-errata Chaos Emperor is still the best card in the entire game, nothing else comes even close to its game-ending power. Pay 1000 to inflict anywhere from 2000 to 7000 damage and on top of that, clear the entire board and hand. Only thing that comes relatively close is Painful Choice thanks to its absurd ability to pretty much set everything up.
Ryusei the Morning Star
On I see. Yeah it was used to deal with chronofact burn due to giving you a fresh start (so you didn't build your deck to fight Verz and run into fact) as well as nullifying chromosome. Very popular in rulers
SirReal
SDB cause issues in the competitive game due to many ways of using the tie as a way to lead to a win. One of the most prominent ways to do so was Hope For Exodia siding into SDB to tie games 2 and 3 for the win. On the casual level I really don't care whether it's banned or at 3.
