Be it a one time deal or what you always name a certain Pokemon.Also if there's any Pokemon in a particular run that stood out to you for some reason go for it. Myself there's a few major ones.Arthur the Bulbasaur. Cause in my X Nuzlocke he did such an amazing job.Princess the Rhyhorn. The star Pokemon of one of my OCs, a Rhyhorn with a big pink bow that carries her trainer around.And the one name I am most happy with. Constable the Stoutland. I've used Jean (as in, Jean Grey of the X-Men) and Sarah (Kerrigan, StarCraft). I named a Beldum (that I later evolved into Metagross) Deep Blue- reference to the computer that beat a grandmaster at chess. Every name I've ever given a Pokémon has been a reference of some sort, be it pop culture, mythology, or something more personal. I have a list of every team member I've ever had, how I obtained them, and the personalities I assigned them- I could technically make a fic of any of my Pokémon playthroughs. Espeon are generally named after myself, with the -kun suffix (for obvious reasons) I know one of my Latias is named Sapphy (Sapphira) from you know what; two of them are named after me/namesake and another named Hinata.Currently have an Emboar named Shizune (I was going to name it Tonton/Tsunade because things, but decided against it). For legendaries, usually stuff related to their names in other languages.I seem to remember that during 7th run of White 2, I named the Lake Trio with romanized Chinese names based on their element. --------------Although the problem is that because the games are coordinated, certain names (when romanized) get censored, because part of their name means something vulgar in another language. I.E. I had a Virizion named Chikako [should translate to grass child or something in Japanese], but since part of it contained some swear word in Italian or something, didn't go through. Same with a Sawsbuck named Shikaku (after this guy); stupid Gen 6 filters got rid of the name. Certain names, I'd LIKE to give my Pokes, but the filter sucks.
