Dragon/Synchro/Effect

(This card's original Level is always treated as 12.)
Cannot be Synchro Summoned. Must be Special Summoned (from your Extra Deck) by sending 2 Level 5 or higher monsters you control with the same Level to the Graveyard (1 Tuner and 1 non-Tuner), and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Once per turn, when a Spell/Trap Card(s) is Set on your side of the field (except during the Damage Step): You can Special Summon 1 "Power Tool" Synchro Monster or 1 Level 7 or 8 Dragon-Type Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck. Cannot be targeted for attacks or by card effects, while you control another Synchro Monster.

So this guy is also getting a reprint in the Clash of Rebellions SE, discuss?

Good, because it's always sold out online, and pushing $18. And it's just one of those cards I want for the sake of it, so I don't want to pay that much if I'm not actually using it in a Deck.

I'm not too fond of the Summoning Condition though, because I'm not sure how many card combos really can practically produce it. I thought of Quickdraw and Salvage Warrior type things, but if you're doing that, your Extra Deck is too cramped with things you actually want to Summon throughout a Duel to fit enough Signer Dragon theme Synchros to make use of its effect. I do like it can bring out Power Tools, though, or Life Stream.

Wow... Speak of the devil... I was talking about using this card in the "Dragon's Bind" discussion.

Anyway, I'm glad for this reprint. I have a few Hieratics lying around and was considering making an Ultimaya deck with the Hieratic engine until I saw its price.

...Hieratics ARE still the easiest way to make this, right?

So the org has confirmed that the CORE SE is North America-exclusive which is a bit of a pisstake tbph.

Basically, Shueisha controls the distribution of promos in North America through Viz, its subsidiary. They refuse to cede that control, and since they have no branch in Europe (likely because it would mean researching WAY more than 2 legal systems), they're hesitant to allow promos to go to Europe quickly.

Fair, I still find it silly though.

Only the levels 8+ can summon themselves from the grave, though, which makes this impossible to pull off due to the Infernoids' level clause. You'd need to summon deka, dump a level 5+ and have another copy of it in your hand, and then have a spell/trap to set for Tzolk'in's effect. It can work, but I doubt it's worth the hassle.

Um... anything but 1-4 can summon from the grave.

Problem is that Piaty and Belphegor (w/e it is now) aren't great, and the need for S/T.

That still doesn't solve the problem of the fact that Dekatron would be 1 level higher than the revived Infernoid...

why do you have to revive what you sent? Why can't it just be fodder for something already in the grave and you planned ahead? Not that difficult.

I'm not saying do it, but the OCG has done it, so it's not that bad an idea i ntheory.

As opposed to Hieratic, noids have a ton of free ED space, so Tzolkin and a decent package can kinda just be tossed in. Otherwise, you are just weakening your deck with a gimmick-reliant ED.

If you're playing Tzolk'in, you're not playing many Rank 6 Xyz, I think. It's not like Hieratics even need Beatrice all that much, and just one M7 is enough. And Hieratics are very consistent with Tzolk'in. They don't need to sack Dekatron or Reasoning, unlike noids, and they can actually throw two Tzolk'ins on the field. Also, Hieratics have a RotA.

both of you need to hold up.

First off, Hieratic definitely do ultimata best. Why? It's the most consistent, and it's not like you don't have spare ED space, given the lack of good rank 6 monsters worth running in multiples, bar Atum.

HOWEVER, it is completely wrong to say the deck doesn't need Xyz, and I even commented on how this is a poor mindset, and it's mostly generated by Yugitubers. You most definitely want more Xyz than Tzolkin. Atum, Gauntlet Launcher, Ptolemy, Utopia Beyond, Strike Bounzer, Number 72(?), Sword Breaker, and Exa-Beetle all exist, not to mention Gaia Dragon. Don't fall into the trick that the deck doesn't need Xyz, because a lack of Xyz makes it garbage.
