LordCowCowCowCowCowCowCowCow
Okay I had no idea how to title so here's a eye-catching title. Essentially I was wondering. Many people, myself included, often romanticize and crave epic fantasy adventures (or sci-fi/etc). There are often claims of "I would love to be in this or that world/scenario". However...do we truly want that? What would you do in such a situation? Where you're away from what you know, and usually in dangerous situations. Would you be able to handle such a thing? Many of us would love to think we could, but there's so many things that aren't taken into account, or brushed over. Even not taking into account physical limitations. So I'm not sure where I'm going with this, exactly, but hopefully my ramblings gave enough for some kind of discussion.
Sethera
You already know my thoughts on this. But yeah, it depends upon the kind of world for me. Physically, I'm decent, though I'd probably have to do a lot of conditioning to be in fighting shape. Also I'd probably freak for a bit and then mope about it when I'm not busy exploring and having fun.
(GigaDrillBreaker)
No. funk that. I like having a couch, phone, peanut butter toast, and internet. I am enjoying all four simultaneously. Would I survive? Well, three years of fencing couldn't hurt my chances, I suppose. sheet-tier lungs, on the other hand...
mitchermitcher
I want to say that yes, I am willing to face the risks that come with the fantastic, that yes I'm willing to put myself in danger for the adventure, that I'm willing to die for a chance to be involved in a scenario that exciting(although from the point of view of an involved character, it probably isn't quite as so), but I don't know if that's how I really feel about it, should a chance like that actually come by. It's a great topic that I want to explore but at the same time I feel that trying to answer that question is just something that I can't do the way I am right now. I'm not sure I really want to. Attempting to answer that question is what I feel to be part of my raison d'etre. Maybe I'm being too dramatic but that's really all I can say about this topic currently. And physically, I guess I can run fast and that's about it? My randomly occurring migraines probably balances that out though, so physically I'm nowhere near fit enough to survive. LordCowCowCowCowCowCowCowCow
Personally I kinda have to agree with Mitcher. In that this is a topic I don't want to think too deeply on most of the time. Which is why I posted it. Weird, right? But really I'd prefer having the hope I'd do well. However I'm aware that I have so many failings when it comes to this. It'd be a struggle on many levels. But I will say, I would be willing to try, and I would be okay with dying for a cause I find just enough. But that's about it. I truly am not fit for adventure of any sorts, but part of me still wishes I could try. Guess the heart is a weird beast in that way.

Cosmo.
If there's magic involved and i can learn it, then maybe... If not, my physical capabilities are lesser than that of a steamed cauliflower. But i did about 2 years of fencing and still doing it, so that might help. Also, i'll always stay as far away as possible from the dangers/monsters. I'll be the healer/mage in short words. And overall, it all depends on the world, because fantasy worlds vary a lot. LordCowCowCowCowCowCowCowCow
What I've learned most from this is that YCM has a lot of fencers.
Dova
My fantasy-esque world? Well, how I imagine it, I would survive there, but my actual self? Doubt it.
epicmemesbro
Several years ago I was stranded in the wilderness. Luckily I more or less knew my location and it took about an hour before I made it back to civilization. That was enough real life adventure for me. :v although I personally would enjoy being in lands reminiscent of the middle ages mixed with ancient Rome, Egypt, and the ottoman empire. I guess somewhat elder scrollish but a little less magical. Some creatures of those eras like goblins, Cyclopses and dragons would be nice. I can handle a dog trying to attack me, Idk if I'll do well facing a giant. But if I am a decent level with some enchanted weaps and equipment I'll do well. Danger isn't my middle name but I do like exploring.
Tinkerer
I... I'm kinda the opposite. I don't really crave adventure, but if I were thrust into one, I could possibly handle it. I dunno... I crave lack of monotony, but up the scale to adventure? Meh...
