Nobody could defeat Air Man, so Konami put him on the banlist.

 

Real talk, though: Stratos is pretty nuts. It doesn't target for its S/T destruction effect, and it's an INSTANT +1 on summon. No wonder Konami thought nobody could defeat him.

i cant understand why is this is still banned, search on summon is good, but with e-call and shadow mist around hero already have more than enough searcher

 

non targeting s/t nuke is nice, but it doesnt count itself, and hero isnt exactly a swarming archetype.....

Its likely due to the fact that has a lot going for it by itself as a searcher, S/T destroyer and being a 1800 beat stick in addition to being a key part of Air Blade deck.

 

As far as I could see for this coming back is if konami errata this where it could come back...

 

e.g.

When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can activate 1 of these effects.

● You can target Spell/Trap Cards on the field, up to the number of "HERO" monsters you control, except this card: destroy the targeted cards.

● Add 1 Level 4 or lower "HERO" monster from your Deck to your hand except "Elemental HERO Stratos".

You can only activate this effect of "Elemental HERO Stratos" once per turn.

 

But I doubt Konami would do anything close to that at this point even though the only other Wind monster HERO has is Avian.

Personally, I wouldn't mind this card going back at 1 in TCG. I understand HEROes and their Dark Law can be oppressive, but in my opinion HEROes were been left behind enough to deserve the push that Stratos can provide them. For instance, its Spell/Trap removal effect could be effective to stand against Pendulum decks. Also it would be cute to see TCG HEROes play Divine Wind/Kamikaze.

Because let's face it Mist deserves a limit.

Although to be fair, the deck did lose insta Noden and Ptolo and shock

 

Ocassional techs of the hero engine in Pedra and Magicians though

 

That sheet used to be baller, Sky Iris search, kill Plushfire, ancient fairy, make divine wind. Pendulum summon Kerin/Apex and tool out stratos

People saying mist should see limit due to how Dark Law prevents people from playing seems a little ridiculous when you consider that in addition with Anki being in HERO's if Dark Law got hit (1/0) it would make HERO's not appear as a deck to hate because one of their Masked HERO's is a one sided marcro that banish any 1 card the opponent draws by a effect.

 

Kinda like how Construct was banned due to how being a 2800 beater that instantly destroyed a Special Summon monster in battle regardless of ATK and can search a Shaddoll Fusion card leaves the field made Shaddoll a little more balanced.

 

Besides Shadow Mist is fine as it is as it can only use one of its effect per turn and not both unless you combo it out with another cards within yours and your opponents next/pervious turn.

Personally this is one of the few cards i want to come off, yet i wouldnt mind if it stays banned. The card is so good that other cards need to be hit in order for him to come back (one of them being shadow mist, but to me semi limit is fine as long as other cards like e-call are hited too). Too much search for a deck that runs like 10 monsters

I wouldn't mind having it at 1 either. They could semi-limit Shadow Mist if they want to if that's what it takes. Not like searching is a problem for the deck but more attributes to use use would be nice. 

 

I have a HERO deck that actually tries to use Avian and Clayman as an Unexpected Dai engine but it is too slot-consuming for the Main Deck compared to what standard HERO builds and what they'd be with Stratos is.

I don't believe he means with the decklists for the deck from way back when. I think he means a more modernized version.

No. AirBlades concept in of itself would never work post hand traps

 

Three stratos?! Why play meh cards like reasoning and monster gate when r4nk Sama exists!

lol so not 80%. It's about 5% in a real Sp'roid deck.

The fck u talking about Taketon is the main power play card of the whole deck and one of the new synchros is also an attribute locker. In fact the only decent play the deck can make without locking attributes is YoYo into something with a tuner. It certainly might be 80, but is sure as hell ain't 5%
