Red Resonator

[Hello my name is Enguin]

 

When this card is Normal Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower monster from your hand. When this card is Special Summoned: You can target 1 face-up monster on the field; gain LP equal to its ATK. You can only use this effect of "Red Resonator" once per turn

 

I, for some reason, thought this card was decent to bad when I first saw it, but now having used it in various decks I think it's my favourite tuner in the game. Triggering things like Shadow Mist and Pendulum Sorcerer are nice interactions, while the synergy with Arma dump Mali is wonderful. That and the fact Synkron Resonator can be used to ladder and then recycle this back, and Resonator Call being a beautiful card. The heal effect is a nice added bonus, especially since you can pendulum it.

 

Makes all the level 3-5 synchros far more convenient too but obviously 6s are somewhat more prevalent because 2+4. Discuss anyway, I've been talking but saying nothing.

Probably one of the only good Resonator monsters. Okay, maybe not exactly. But one of the only ones that can properly set up Synchro plays.

I like that idea somebody had of this into Cyber Petit Angel for a search and then make Herald of Arc.

Makes me wish there were better vanilla synchros in the game for this, or at least better engines.

Stadust charge warrior is something worth to go into with this too, at least in a first turn play

I wish this was a dark monster instead of fire though

I mean, like I said, it does the opposite of what the game wants Tuners to be.

 

The game tries to make Tuners power cards in order to sell them, while leaving other stuff to be enablers. Glow-Up, Spore, etc.

 

This encourages having a deck of power cards with THIS as an enabler.

These are all cards that want you to make value out of them, and they're only a few of a massive pool. Even Angel Trumpeter falls in that category.

 

Red Resonator is more a card that wants to enable yo uto make more value, and take advantage of the fact that being a tuner is already a good "effect".

It does its' job very well, while you do have to build around it a bit, it benefits from both normal and special summons, and it has no real restrictions outside of the hard OPT on the gaining effect.

Also I've been wanting to build a deck that can ultilize this and make good synchros.
