Then they wouldn't, duh.

 

Alternatively, they make it like the Vision HEROs in that D-HEROs can fit the bill but aren't necessary.

 

That seems a bit much just to justify that change to this card's text.  I'm talking about future-proofing, and Konami hasn't given me the impression that they think that long-term.

 

If it were me, I'd just slip Dragoon's name in there and call it a day.

Except then it can't summon the Vision HEROs, who were also Edo's cards, so that's no less problematic.

Since when was it a requirement for Vision HERO cards to be Summonable by Destiny HERO cards?  Yes, they're ran by the same "character" (more accurately, parallel universe versions of the same character), and yes they're both HERO archetypes, but that doesn't mean that one has to be beholden to the other.

 

If you insist that it has to be that way, DARK Warrior-Type Fusion is a decent compromise for all parties involved.

Wow, this is like...awful. Konami literally butchered D-HEROS into....shitty battle phase stuff?

 

Konami didn't literally butcher anything here; these are the anime versions, and Konami will probably buff them in their IRL release.  They'll have to if they want the Destiny Soldiers pack to sell (assuming these are in there, of course).

Very true. That said, these have gotten away with the Time Manipulation theme of D-HEROs which defined them in GX, but I imagine that's to make them less gimmicky.

I don't believe in Konami's foresight, and if they happen to make a Destiny HERO Fusion in the future (distant or otherwise) that doesn't only list D-HEROs for whatever reason, this card with that text wouldn't be able to Summon it.

To be fair, I kinda don't see Konami making D-HERO Omni HEROs tbph.

dystopia and D-fusion are the two best ones really, dogma makes dystopia incredible, and while fusion is not really great as is, there's only two ways i can really think of to improve it further:

 

  • send monsters to the grave (including at least one D-HERO) and summon a fusion monster whose conditions are fulfilled.
  • make it summon one 'destiny' and/or 'HERO' fusion monster instead of a destiny HERO 

 

that way it works for any future support and has synergy with other hero decks and the second one would work with shaddoll for lulz.
