CuriousHeartless Posted September 22, 2016 Report Share Posted September 22, 2016 Gen 1 was a mess (game wise the Pokemon designs were okay) and Gen 2 was a step up but still not great. Ruby/Sapphire are far from perfect games but they are the first Pokemon games I'd call great. The introduction of abilities and fleshing out of berries help with that.
