Snail Combos 2016

Lets discuss what combos you can do with Yu-Gi-Oh!'s Snails!

Psychic Snail can help push for lots of damage with big Psychic beatsticks such as Hyper Psychic Blaster.

You can OTK using this card by using Overdrive Teleporter's effect to summon Hushed Psychic Cleric and Psychic Commander, Synching into Hyper Psychic Blaster with Commander and Teleporter, using Cleric's effect to banish Commander, sending Cleric to the Graveyard for Transmodify and summoning Psychic Snail then summoning Commander via Cleric's effect, and finally using Snail's effect to allow both Blaster and Commander to attack twice.

 

Sure the combo might be convoluted but who cares

Wind-Up Snail is a Level 2 Aqua which is perfect for our friend Toadally Amazing, and can be summoned with Wind-Up Carrier Zenmaity if you actually play that format.

As a Level 3 Insect-Type, Spiked Snail is a great fit for any Digital Bug deck! Being a Normal Monster gives it lots of support, such as Rescue Rabbit, Unexpected Dai and White Elephant's Gift. It's status as a DARK monster (and a Snail monster, of course!) is unique among the Normal Level 3 Insect-Type, which is surprisingly pretty irrelevant but oh well.

 

Unfortunately, it isn't TCG legal.

Finally, we have Mechanical Snail. What makes this fascinating are its ATK and DEF values: 800 and 1000 make it summonable by Edea the Heavenly Squire and Eidos the Underworld Squire! As a DARK monster it can be banished by Allure of Darkness, and as a Machine you can discard it for Machina Cannon or Fortress.

Bolt Escargot can be returned to the hand with Dark Factory of Mass Production, Salvage and Recycling Batteries. That's all I can think of really.

The Normal ones certainly have gotten more support with all the Normal support Spell cards. Speaking of which, you can add Bolt Escargot with Summoner's Art (for what it's worth). And Spiked and Mechanical can be added via Painful Decision. I'm at a bind for which ine shows the most utility: Psychic Snail or Mechanical Snail. I guess it depends if you want to set up Xyzs or OTKS.

I thought we'd have more of these by now. 

 

It is pretty amazing how Bolt Escargot has so many "add 2 of this from Grave to hand" cards going for it. It'd also be Normal Summonable under Legendary Ocean but it'd be better if it was inherently Level 4 or lower.

 

Wind-Ups can bring out Treatoad and Bahamut by themselves. That's pretty amusing.

 

Lol Psychic Snail is king of Snails now. 

If they ever become meta, you know you'll have a good time with them, because they can't get salty~ *shot*

 

This thread made me go look for Turtles now.

As I recall, Psychic Snail's niche in this card game was among the last moves one would accomplish, back when Mind Master was a card. Otherwise it hardly has any impact on anything. However, using it's multi attacking ability on something like Ultimate Axon Kicker had proved to be effective, if nothing more then a silly gimmick.

Well 1 card that can combo with 4/5 of them is Inferno Reckless Summon and 3 the of ones that can be comboed with it have a lot Special Summoning support (being the Normals, of course)...

 

You know another fun pseudo-archetype? Tigers, bro, Tigers. You can even actually play a Deck around their own members better than these poor old gastropods. :P
