(I wanted to word this so that if you have nothing that this card is linked to, you can negate 4 cards total. I really didn't know how to word it though.)

New mechanic introduced a few months back. It is in line with the latest anime series and its introduction changed a bit of how the game is played. The link above should have details on how they work and their attributes that make them different from other card types.

The Wikia link should explain what a Link Monster is, why it doesn't have DEF and instead a Link Number/Rating and those markers on its frame. Additionally, it also explains how you summon them and how the Link Numbers matter in summon. It should not be that difficult to understand.
