Mutant Monster RAEG-HAPYP
I know Horus isn't top-tier or anything like that but can a Horus deck actually work? Asking because I have a Horus deck on Devpro. Discuss.

~Faytl~
It would be hilarious to see Horus Decree come back, especially now Jinzo Jacker exists. Thing is it still dies to monster effects, which are very prevalent right now.
玄魔の王
At first I was sad this wasn't Metaphys Horus. Then I realised why. Effect is awesome, but balanced by how hard he is to get out.

I wouldn't call it hard, but it is severely inconvenient.
Azuh
The LV series was so butchered from the beginning. Its evolved counterparts shouldve been in the Extra Deck and not the Deck

evilfusion
I wouldn't say all the LV monsters were butchered from the beginning, but a lot of them are painfully specific or hard to upgrade, making them almost unusable. The Armed Dragons are the best, most user-friendly of the LVs. Armed Dragon LV3 just had to be alive during the Standby Phase (Masked Dragon/etc helped a lot), Armed 5 had to kill stuff in battle. Armed LV10 was meh, needing to Tribute an Armed LV7, and couldn't be SSed from the Deck like the others. But then we look at things like the Ultimate Insects, which strangely went from 1 to 7, and only applied their effects if Summoned by the previous LV, so they were nearly useless except as glorified beatsticks unless properly upgraded. At least Armed LV5 was a solid stand-alone card if you weren't running LV7/10. Horus was actually REALLY good, but LV4 was meh, and 6-8 were awesome and disruptive. I don't even know what the hell they were thinking with the Allure Queens.

Silent Swordsman would be really cool if its effect didn't screw it up from lvling.

I don't remember anything about Lucius other than it being bad, though.

I don't remember anything about Lucius other than it being bad, though. My point exactly. Lv 4 would have been decent as it has a Ha DES effect, but it's only a 1k body and takes destroying a monster by battle to lv up. Lv 6 was, again, destroyed by it's mediocre attack stat, same effect, lvl 6, only 1700 atk. Make matters worse it actually had to negate something to lv up this time. Lv 8 would've been fine, except it HAD to be summoned by Lv 6 or it was just a 2800 stick.
Sleepy
If I recall, their restrictions were a mess throughout the years. Level-Up! was a pretty half-assed LV support card since Horus LV6 was unaffected by it (bieng in the very art of the card), the Ultimate Insects not getting their effects unlocked from it... Level Modulation demonstrated that "ignoring the Summoning conditions" didn't actually mean ignoring the Summoning conditions. Even after having explained how nomis worked, it still has to be recognized that it is an over-complicating technicality for a game to add which was destined to pretty much create arguments over it at matches. I don't think they being Extra Deck cards was actually necessary. They were solid enough beaters for their time, and having a single copy of the highest stage in the deck was sometimes worth it. The game is much more inflated now so of course people want instant LV7+ evolutions from the Extra Deck to be a +0... and support like "Graveyard in the 4th Dimension" is pretty much unacceptable (well, not like it ever really was all that incredibly effective, but it at least saved you from running copies of the bulky stages.... in casuals, only when it was a new mechanic....) Marco Polo
Thinking about it, horus counters all things meta. Necloth, qliph, shaddoll, etc.

(GigaDrillBreaker)
As for Horus.... Stormforth into LV6 -> Evolve to 8 -> ????? -> profit This totally awesome. I kinda want to toss this in an an anti-meta engine. Horus8 works with trade-in, which ought to help with consistency, or something, and the fire attribute gives synergy with blaster. I very well make Horus.dek later today...
