Is it me, or has D/D become primarily a Fusion deck at this point?  With Temujin, D'Arc and now Caesar Ragnarok, you could theoretically just use the Fusions and not need anything else among the archetype's Extra Deck monsters.

That being said, Kali Yuga is pretty cool.

You need Caesar (OG). Easily. His floating and synergy with D'arc's amazing.

Synchro side is really lacking, though.

Unless D/D/D's get more Level 8s, Kali Yuga isn't exactly going to be the easiest thing to summon; considering you'll need 2 Ragnaroks to do it. (There's Hell Armageddon, but he's not worth it)

Of course, there is Swirlal Slime (or whatever that D/D that doubled Levels is), but yeah.

But yeah, effects are more/less the same; except for the 3rd one (but that's fine). Doesn't do stupid things like its anime counterpart.

----

TBH, I don't really see Caesar's effect activating (unless opponent has a monster with +3200 ATK), but if it does; opponent is out a 'mon and this gets stronger.

Although it does remove one of your Covenants, so in the event you lack D'Arc, the damage gets reduced, so I suppose there's that use.

Nothing really changed for either of these cards in effects (save for Caesar specifically requiring D/D's or their Covenants).

They have their DEF revealed, but more/less not including it.

@heraldry: We'll probably see more Synchro D/D/D's in the coming weeks. Alexander can't be the only one in the ED for them.

Caesar also activates when he attacks now. It's why he's good.

Kali Yuga is a disappointment, if anything he is just a finisher you use if you know you can end the game with him or become desperate (with the current DD cards, thus not counting baphomet).

Caesar Ragnarok is amazing and definitely worth it at 2 or 3 in the deck, as he allows the use of the highest and lowest scale and thus allows the pendulum use of ragnarok and armageddon, thus he makes Kali Yuga PLAYABLE (yet not especially useful), to be quite honest I would rather keep the 2 recuring level 8 monsters than kali yuga (with the current support).

Hmm, I must've skipped over that part while comparing both versions of this card.

Yeah, it's much better than having the opponent attack him, and also clears the opponent's board when he strikes.

(You can always activate the Covenants again later, so not like it's going to cost you anything; except for S/T space.)

Well Caesar Ragnarok certainly got better. Kali Yuga seems a bit situational, so I'm not sure when you'd summon it as opposed to just keeping the level 8s. The ability o nuke the spell/trap zones is nice, but there must be easier ways to achieve that.

I'd prefer if Neo New Red Dragon Archfiend or Fusion Dragon was the cover card.

No way the fusion dragon would be it (since I doubt Yuri will duel anytime soon) new red dragon is possible, but then is another dragon card, and I'm already sick and tired of dragon cover (I don't have the dragon boner within me)

They are no amazing cover cards, each time I see them I have to laugh (however they are still worth their summoning conditions).
(except for yubel, which is still usable).

Very few cover cards are all that good.

Overall, I'm happy with Caesar Ragnarok. Kali Yuga is a bit tough now, but Baphomet should fix that.
