What's your diet like?  What steps do you take to improve your health?

Do you follow a plan or do you just not give a funk?  (No judging in this thread)

I've been trying to get in shape and have been trying/failing to eat more.  However, I have been successful in almost cutting soda completely out of my diet.

I eat too much fried food. And not by choice, by the fact that I'm currently living with grandparents, and being older southern people, they fry a funk ton. I really miss grilling, which mom/sis/I did all the time, even in winter.

Probably have too much sugar and dairy, though I'm trying to cut down, and I don't really drink soda anymore bar occasional sprites.

I just eat whatever, whenever, and let my metabolism take care of the rest. Whatevs. Though I do really enjoy eating fruit and drinking water, so it's not like I'm an unhealthy slob, or anything. I'm terrible at mediating how I eat junk snack foods, so I never buy them, either.

Still going 120 lbs strong.

Same as Shradow and Flame, I eat basically whatever. Definitely not getting the proper amount of nutrition, though over the past year, I've started to notice that I'll feel disgusting if I either eat too much or not have something healthy in a day. So hopefully I'll get better eating habits by the time my metabolism slows down.

But in the meantime, I have nothing to worry about. I've got a godly metabolism.

I pretty much eat whatever I have available in terms of food.

Sundays are usually McDonalds (although I usually opt for the lower calorie stuff). Saturdays are either torikatsu, garlic chicken(/teri beef) bentos from Japanese place or meat/fish jun.

Although I do have a habit of drinking way too much fruit punch; I need to cut that down a bit.

Soda-wise, I'm cutting back on those, so it helps [then again, I only drink Sprite/root beer for most part; no Pepsi/Coke/Mountain Dew, etc).

Drinking a lot more water now.

----------

I don't have a general set plan for maintaining health, but usual is about 2-3 hours of martial arts stuff on weekends; plus a good amount of walking during weekdays (going up several flights of stairs for classes).

Also helps that I don't eat a ton of instant ramen like a lot of guys I know at college do.

Metabolism is good though, so weight stays around a usual area (it fluctuates a bit though, but around 149-151 pounds [67-68 kg in metric, give/take a couple grams]).

Literally everything in this post applies to me except that I'm 140 lbs.

I love food and eat like an anaconda, but my tastes tend toward healthy (I was the kid that would trade their cookies for apples during field trips) rather than unhealthy, and I have a super fast metabolism, so I've never had to work to stay healthy. Only problem is my parents are huge carnivores and one of them loves fast food and snacks. Thankfully, their habits haven't really passed on to me, but I end up eating that stuff anyway because it's the only thing to eat. Hasn't affected my weight, but I'm worried that it might in the future, so I've been eating more and more like a normal person lately.

For drinks, I prefer juice and lemonade over anything else, though I will say that water is the most refreshing during a hot day. Powerade's good too if I've been working up a sweat.

food is a big habit of mine, i generally do at least okay with my health when im eating a meal but snacking is most definitely a downfall of mine, i find it hard not to snack on a bunch of sheet everyday. another big issue is that i find it hard to refuse junk food, like when im walking past it in a store i dont tend to dwell on it but when someone offers it to me i cant refuse it even if ive already had three whole bags of gummies and whatever else.

I'm like 160~ pounds (I think? I don't weight myself that much, but I think I'm like 11 10 or 12 something currently) at a little over 6". But I have no muscle mass, so I still view myself as being overweight.

Currently I'm eating like crap, since I'm at home and my parents buy me junk food to eat, and make me eat big portion since they think I'm underweight.

But at Uni, I generally watch my weight by eating less, having a lot of rice, fresh meat, fresh fish, a lot less junk. So I keep a healthier weight. I also cut massively down on carbonated drinks. Mostly because I just won't actually buy any.

Tbh I only eat junk food if it's actually around for me to eat.

How is everyone so light? I'm around 200 at 6' foot.

Don't worry I'm about 6 foot an 230/240 pounds :526094_key:

Anyway, generally I eat whatever I can get. Don't really have the luxury of being all that picky. Try to get three meals a day but sometimes only get one or two. Working now so probably will lose some weight.

I drink a lot of juice when we have it. I need to try and avoid drinking so much because we run out fast.

I clock at about 6 foot and weigh only 135 lbs. Yet I eat like a pig and consume too much unhealthy snacks. Yet I still retain a good figure. I guess us Asians have the best metabolic rates by just doing stationary or mild activity.

My family was never a big fan of most junky American foods, so I grew up where the food I ate was authentic food home grown or bought at asian markets, and consisted of many vegetables with th little fats, and I still eat it today. The balance here is that I don't exercise too often and eat too much sodium rich foods like chips and crackers for leisure. I could always build muscle mass and greater endurance if I tried, but I have those habits to control if I don't want to get hypertension and heart attacks in the future.

But I'm still eating my family's food cooked from their home country so I always will get some food categories marked on MyPlate. I was stunned when I first found out how much soda Americans consumed in a week and how much protein and sodium they overtake too.

Since I am underweight, I do my best to eat as much as I can, although I avoid junkfood. I am fond of pork, however some think its unhealthy, In fact it is more healthy than consuming beef. I rarely drink soda or eat sweets. I make sure to consume a decent amount of fruits and vegetables. I try to eat several almonds daily. Perhaps my diet is responsible for why I almost never get sick. I managed to gain a few pounds luckily.

I'm around 5'8ish, but my weight stays in that range I noted earlier, give or take a few pounds.

Think my heaviest was 157-158ish, though I think that was around the time parents bought a new scale (digital).

Though, if I didn't exercise and ate tons of junk food, I'd likely be a lot heavier than I am now (and I would've fallen for the Freshman 15 back then).

To be honest, I do eat quite a bit, although I suppose all that walking I have to do on a weekly basis for classes [if going up/down 3-4 flights of stairs twice per day] and exercise help to keep the pounds off.  Then again, I don't have muscle mass [well, at least not the chunky kind like a lot of guys I see at college].

Maybe because of my ethnicity, I have good metabolism for keeping pounds off.

*shrugs *

Just need to continue keeping tabs on my food intake, and make sure I get enough exercise to work off the gained calories.

I know a 13-year old who's a little shorter than you, but same weight. (Asian though)

There's also this 16/17-year old who's probably your height too (weight is definite, because he mentioned it publicly). Same ethnicity as me, however.

Also about the average size of a lot of local guys at college [yeah, chunky].

Slightly underweight, even then I don't eat as much as I should. Asides from a bowl of rice and chicken every day or so I only eat ice cream and the likes. Then there is the problem I have with Lidl's bakery section. The stuff there is delicious, I spend around £2-3 on stuff in their bakery when I'm in (roughly 4-5 jam doughnuts and some chocolate croissants, and occasionally cookies.) Then an additional £5 on two 5 packs of croissants and Kinder chocolate. So around £8 in Lidl every so often and consume the stuff on the day of purchase.
