I need your help, YCM community

I don't feel like I am gaining anything from spending most of my free time either here, making a roller coaster, or using dueling network. It all feels like a drag, and its felt like this for a few months, maybe longer, to me. I don't know how to get to doing something else I would want to do, or what else I would want to do that I can. I also want to fit in with the rest of the main community (you guys) until I find another hobby.

 

Please help me fit in here, so I can keep myself together while I wait/look for a new hobby that I would be willing to do, and freedom from the boredomness that I've felt for so long.

Have you tried joining an RP?  That section has a pretty chill community (most of the time), and if a new RPer joins our ranks we tend to want to help them improve.

 

You could try picking a video game the community tends to play.  I seem to find another League of Legends player around here every week or so, and Hearthstone is popular round here for some reason too.  Both of those are free as well, so money won't be a problem.

 

Outside of those, just ask around and try to find some common interests.

The obvious easy way is to be into YGO so you can join the discussions and go from there. Believe it or not this is a Yugioh forum and msot of the main members can and will talk YGO. Or other card games.

 

Other than that, Yui's advice about RPs is pretty solid and honestly I don't really like that. I felt a lot more at ease with this site once I joined an RP and its skype chat and I don't like the prospect of that too much but that's a different discussion and I digress.

 

We have five multimedia sections and I'm sure at least some of them are relevant to your interests. And if that doesn't work there's still the general section where you can start random discussions like this exact thread and see if people care enough to respond like I am doing(well no I don't really care that much actually).

 

That you're making a thread to ask this seems kinda pathetic but at the same time, quite daring. Just mess around in the various sections and I hope you'll find your niche. Or you'll find this community isn't for you and leave, that's alright too. Not every forum's fit to house everyone. Even for me this place is just a secondary online community I use because the place I regular is pretty dead yet I'll never let go because I treasure it too much.

Well i'm a new member . . . so yea . . . just want to share my track record here.

 

① when i'm new here, i go to CC sections to post a card like many times (starting a topic etc etc etc).

② then trying somewhere, and there's Nyxcellaneous, i mostly post in games sub-sections (never start a topic here, for some reason i do know).

③ moving out into CC contest and participate in YCM weekly (hosted by Sakura) and a card for a song (by Darj).

④ then TCG/OCG sections . . .

⑤ next Club & Organization (well your community i join up).

⑥ last is DP sections and joining 2099 stuff.

 

I don't really know about RP stuff, since i'm not there (yet?), maybe because of Skype things on RP that makes you easily became a part of community, and thanks to Skype (certain someone here told me and teach me 'bout it, so thanks to Mr. I won't say your name) i know a lot of people here and manage to find what i think my 2nd "family".

 

Also i only know you for the first time from that Club you make, maybe because you rarely seen here, try to be active in certain sections and see if you manage to be a part of this/that community. And yes avoid any drama and that kind of stuff if you want to be accepted by community.

 

So my suggestions is . . . find what sections you think you're fit into and try lurking haunting there actively, and see. I hope i still can see you here, since it's sad to see someone leaving and never coming back.

Anyways:

You've popped up a few times in Games and Miscellaneous, so there's that. However, I guess you want to do more than that. As mentioned by everyone, there's RPs; I can't say much about them since I'm not good at them, nor can I invest enough time in them. Time truly is my worst enemy. But getting back, there's also different clubs (and yes; I'll participate in the one you established today/tomorrow); plus, you have a good premise for a club, already. You could have a place like Lord CowCow and his club or Draconus297 and his club. Then there's the discussions; whether it be about TCG, OCG, new Decks/Deck ideas, anime, manga, music, ect. Just find what catches your interest. I agree that it's sad to see someone leave and never come back.

I believe that a lot of the users on here are pretty nice and accepting, and that's one of the main things keeping me here (on this website). I actually spend most of my time in the Anime/Manga forums, and have been trying to spend more time in the General and Movies/Television Shows forums. If you ever want to talk, I'm around.

I am in a similar situation. I too have not been active in the Yugioh TGC for about 7 years. I tried getting back in the game last year but this new format/ mechanics made me loose interest. I meant to go back into card making but lost interest in that as well. I usually am active in the General/misc. Section and occasionally post in the video games section and am meaning to post more in the music section. I guess it helps to know the regular posters in the sections you are interested in.

If you want to be a part of the community, you need to get the hell in there. You need to do the legwork. Asking everyone to just put you into the community won't work, because then the bonds formed will be pretty damn fake anyway.

If you feel distressed, you ought to employ the means to solve that distress. Others live already considering and tending to their worries. Trouble yourself to illuminate the entirety of the world. Nobody else will do so for you because they withstand it themselves for themselves to be happy.
