Let's try a no-legendary team (and yes, I actually have one)

 

  • Espeon (see Club Espeon stuff and others; also because Eeveelution. Also one of the Pokes that are associated with me [although not as much as the usual])
  • Lucario (first Pokemon that I ever got to Mega Evolve, and because it's cool.)
  • Garchomp (see dragons)
  • Arcanine (because majestic as hell and actually pretty decent.)
  • Jolteon (second favorite Eeveelution, and still a decent Electric sweeper)
  • Milotic (I think this is here because I need a Water Pokemon, and because of Zex)

 

Naming-wise

  • Espeon (my real name with the Japanese honorific for boys, because mine is a guy)
  • Lucario (Ruka*; derived from my username on a Pokemon game)
  • Garchomp (Chibi)
  • Arcanine (Shujinkó / Shuichi)
  • Jolteon (I forgot what I named mine)
  • Milotic (Zextra; probably obvious)

(There are others that I like, but these are top 6. Think a lot of the Pokémon I like are fully evolved)

I'm not too picky on the Pokemon themselves (except Absol, honestly my favorite non-Dragon, who I've caught in every game in which catching it is possible), but I'm particular on my Types.

 

Dragon, obviously. The list of Dragon-Types I don't like is countable on one hand: Dragonite (YOU RUINED YOUR LINE, ARE YOU HAPPY), Dialga (Great typing, horrible design, Hell is that movepool), Druddigion (honestly, why does this exist, I cannot find anything likable about it). Weirdly, all their names start with D.

 

Steel. In general, I love the Pokemon with this typing, including every Gen 3 Steel-Type: Aggron line, Mawile, Jirachi, Metagross line . . . YES.

 

Fire. I'm a pyromaniac, what can I say? It honestly irritates me that most Fire-Types just . . . suck in terms of stats, movepool, or both.

 

Dark. There are just very few members of the Type I can't abide by (Crawdaunt, Sableye, Honchkrow line, and the utter disappointment that is Liepard), and the Type itself appeals to me with their designs, their often surprisingly good names, and the interesting moves they get.

 

Psychic. Again, there's just something about the Type: especially considering every playthrough of a Pokemon game I've ever done has had a Psychic member. It's even helped me come to appreciate Types I otherwise can't stand, like Rock (Lunatone) and Ice (Jynx).

My team would only consist of the most badass of the badasses

 

  • Hydreigon - Obviously, the coolest dragon-type there is.  A hydra with a lust for destruction!  
  • Heracross - My favorite bug and fighting type respectively.  Favorite gen 2 poke.
  • Gliscor - Bat scorpion?  Yes pls!  Favorite gen 5 
  • Tyrantrum - The only thing more badass than a hydra is a T-rex
  • Greninja - Frog ninja that is better than Toxicroak!  Why are like half the frog inspired pokemon ninjas?
  • Sableye - my little gremlin!  Favorite gen 3 pokemon.  So simple in design and really cute!  Also would probs be my mega too.

Kumo the Castform, because a happy lil cloud is just what we all need.

 

IQ the Beeheyem, because I love that funking coat and hat.

 

Nazca the Sigilyph, because I needs me some of that.

 

Gaul the (shiny) Golurk, because a triple A robot is my deal.

 

Weekend the (shiny Dandy Cut) Furfrou, in honor of Weekend.

 

Kimi the (Mega) Mawile because I ♡ den mouthes.

 

If I could put a legendary in there, it would be Wane the Darkrai, because darkrai is the most memorable pokemon I've got from a pokemon ranger game. Also the movie gives me feelings.

Shiny Bisharp (Izanagi) - My first shiny I got from breeding. My trump card every battle, he is my loyal knight.

Shiny Zoroark (Poison) - My second shiny I got. My waifu of the team, with the Illusion trick being useful to me.

Conkeldurr (Hugo) - Pairs with Zoroark. One of my fave fighting types I had since Gen V, and is a great handyman.

 

The main Pokes I would want. Thinking of a lot more, but these are the most important to me.

Mawile (Lilith)

Glaceon (Elsa)

Rhydon (Princess)

Ampharos (Aries)

Vivilon (Dormir)

 

One of these would be Mega, but it depends. Likely Mawile, but potentially Amphoros if not wanting to Uber it up.

 

I'd totally have a Masquerain (Flutter) and Minun (Tron) in the box though, and many others, but yeah. I think this is about right.

 

Edit: Replaced Scyther for Vivilon for multiple reasons.
