Cyverse Gadget
Level 4 LIGHT Cyverse-Type Effect Monster
ATK 1400
DEF 300
You can only use the 2nd effect of this card’s name once per turn.
(1) When this card is Normal Summoned: You can target 1 Level 2 or lower monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target, but its effects are negated.
(2) If this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 “Gadget Token” (Cyverse-Type/LIGHT/Level 2/ATK 0/DEF 0)

Gadgets can synchro summon now

Short-sighted comment of the year, this does absolutely nothing for Gadgets. The only "benefit" in sharing a name is that Gold and Silver can summon it from the deck, but it needs to be Normal'd to trigger the revive. Otherwise, can't even share in the machine-type support and it revives a level that gadgets don't work with.

It's a good card, being obviously a one-card Link 3 in your hand if your grave is set up. But seriously, holy crap dude lol, it sounds like you didn't even know Red Resonator was a card.

Explain plz?

AGG has 500 ATK and this effect

Once per turn: You can declare 1 "Gadget" monster's name; until the End Phase, this card's name becomes that name.

Machine Dupe has this effect

Target 1 Machine-Type monster you control with 500 or less ATK; Special Summon up to 2 monsters from your Deck with the same name as that monster.

so you Link 3 with AGG + 2x Cyverse Gadget, then get to summon 2 tokens because when I wrote that I forgot that they put a HOPT on that effect. So yeah, it doesn't work lol

Honestly with all this stuff coming out, it feels like Konami is trying to get the game back to generic goodstuff, which I like a lot.

While not in this phrasing, I've been pointing that out.

A lot of cards reek of power creep... but they're creeping unplayed "goodstuffs". Like Slayer being a Level 5 thrasher that has a removal effect. Or draconet.

It's nice and funny at the same time.

(Almost) Literally the LV 4 version of Junk Synchron. It's good Link support for things like Bitron especially, but I can't help that Link cards now that I think about it are just Synchro support in disguise, and this just happens to be one of the best.

tbf the 2 mechanics work rather well together. Everything that you used to spam Synchros (except Level Eater) can be repurposed to spam Links instead. Now we just need Links worth spamming, and that's only a matter of time.

I'm also all in for generic good stuff. Code of the Duelist might turn out to be worth it from this casual player's standpoint wanting to get just solid toys for creative builds going.

It gives me a vibe of Duelist Genesis because that's exactly how the Synchro era began: GX had been leaving a legacy of powercreep full of archetype-specific things, so archetypical in fact that buying a random booster pack was deemed stupid. Then we got a mechanic that changed the pace of the game in a set with a lot of generic good cards.

This reminds me so much of Junk Warrior, except being a Level 4 non-Tuner, but it gives up a Token, which is a nice gesture considering how hefty could a Link 3 (or plus) be.

You mean Junk Synchron, right? Just asking for clarification.
