What kind of stuff is actually talked about in the mod forum?

I'm guessing problem members and brainstorming site improvements are a given, but is there anything else?

Do you only talk about certain members there if they're a problem or potential mod material?

Troublemaking members, site improvements, discussion for new mods, discussion for old mods, discussion for unbans, arguments between mods, discussions of new rules.

why would you all even consider me to mod CC?

i mean, i heard from monkey what he was thinking, and it kinda flattered me, but it really doesn't make a ton of sense. i'm kiiiinda unbalanced, insecure, prone to bad decision making, the list goes on and on.

meanwhile, i haven't done anything of note, most of my activity is limited to the status bar, i hardly ever post in RC when i do post normally... so it just kinda confuses me on why i would even be considered. .-.

when i found out this existed, i had to ask

How many times has banning me been discussed?

Never, to the best of my memory.

Why is Night allowed to swear, when clearly it's against the privileges of many young offended members of the site?

Why is coolspy not a mod yet?

Can I get banned for asking about falling pasta?

Is Night as rude to me as he is to you guys in the mod forum?

1) This has actually been discussed before. He's NOT "allowed" to do it, and is called out for it when it gets excessive.

2) Because he doesn't have any of the qualities I'd look for in a mod, and in fact has several of the qualities that'd immediately disqualify him as such.

3) I'm not sure...

4) Night isn't really very rude to us most of the time.

How does ascension feel? Is the mod forums really a fluffy cloud heaven?

The mod forum is actually extremely boring. Most of the topics are basically just notes to other staff members, like someone's leaving for a few weeks, or bouncing site improvement ideas off each other. We really only discuss mod candidates when there's a spot open. Same with "troublemakers".

I think you were even up for consideration because someone said you were interested. I vaguely recall one of the other staff noting that they thought you were previously opposed to being a mod.

do any of you still make cards?

A good portion of us don't, not sure about the CC mods.

Are there any real troublemakers on here anymore? besides neochu

When you bounce ideas off each other, do you mean events or like actual physical changes?

Everyone is a troublemaker, just need proof. *^*

Both

Yeah, I still make cards.

Haven't done recent stuff lately [aside from the AC-13 card] because of summer school and responsibilities on another game that I'm also in charge of keeping an eye on.

At least I've kept quiet. I plan on keeping it that way.

Question: Given Striker became a moderator, everything is possible, right?

Striker should be able to keep CC in line, alongside the other three of us.

Black and Hina said that you wanted to be mod and had shining recommendations for you.

evilfusion, is there anything about me then?

Nope.

Seriously, specific members are rarely ever discussed. Part of the reason is because the staff as a whole has no reason to discuss every potential problem involving members. Typically, people who break rules get warned, and persistent rulebreaking usually gets a short-term ban, and particularly flagrant offenses can get a permaban. Those sort of things can be handled by the section mods without asking the approval of other staff members.

Also, members for the most part stick to one or two sections, so even if there's an issue warranting a lot of discussion or opinions, half the staff will literally have no idea who the member is, and therefore be completely indifferent to the outcome.

Do you guys ever talk about old staff? Kinda like a "what to do" or "what not to do" thing?

Have you guys made a card to summon YCMaker?

Old staff do occasionally get a mention during discussions, though not really in a "don't be like X" or "be sure to do what X did" sort of way. It's usually as a passing reference when talking about approaches or mindsets.

For example, I've referenced Crab a few times as someone who had a very condescending way of interacting with members, and even though Crab was usually very logical and often correct in terms of argument, the approach was terrible (but it was funny).

That's exactly what made the approach terrible. You can't tell him/her anything, overly logical and pretty much right. Oddly enough I liked Crab more than some other mods, like Bloodrun. Condescending, but without the humor.

Enlighten us though, what does the average mod forum topic look like? 12 pages of discussion or like 10 of discussion and then porn stashes?

Edit: ooh, and, who do you think had big impacts on the forum? this is a general question @all staff, answer if you will.

Can I ask what the mindset on the 3 latest CC promotions were and the reasoning for all of their elections? General question for anyone who wants to pick it up.

I won't speak for the other mods, and I won't go into great detail on the discussions themselves (which by their nature, should be kept as private as possible), but my mindset was to look for candidates who had a fairly solid idea of what the section needed in terms of improvements, and knew how to approach moderation as a whole.

Sakura and Saber fit my requirements the best, with Striker fitting as a possible supporting mod, but priority at that moment had been to decide on which candidates should definitely be promoted. After that, discussion went on as to whether a third mod should be added, which is why Striker's promotion happened later than the other two.

The mod forum in essence is supposed to server as a sort of hub for general discussion but more importantly to get information quickly to the group.

So for example, prior to making this thread I made sure to gauge what the rest of the guys thought about the idea, from that thread I got about four immediate responses green-lighting it and then proceeded to post.

So to answer your question it's a mix of both, some quick updates and some long on-going discussions. A little-known fact though is that there's actually a subsection for all of the porn (can't mix business with pleasure.)
