The mythical "Outside"

Recommended Posts

So YCM. I know many of us quite like our inside and computers and blah de blah de blah.

However there is another world. One known as "Outside". So tell me YCM, what do you think of the Outside? Do you embrace it? Fear it? Are not quite sure it exists?

But really. What are outdoor activities you enjoy?

As a side topic you could also discuss the internet's seemingly negative relationship with the outdoors; and/or the idea that it's bad to not do outdoor activities.

I'm a long distance runner, so I'm usually out running at least 2 miles a day around my hometown. Its a great way to relieve stress and think of writing/RP ideas, as it turns out.

Other than that I really enjoy kayaking (i go on a 13 mile trek with my friends roughly once a year) or anything that has to do with a boat or being on/in the water. When i was younger I also used to go camping pretty regularly.

I like exploring. Whether it be mountain hikes or city crawling, I love that stuff.

I don't really do anything physical outside aside from that, though. Can't throw for shit and my stamina's so low, I can't be bothered to go running. Though I might try changing that this summer.

only the 7th time I've told myself that

I really really love walking. I naturally walk 2 miles to school and back every day, which is good enough but I walk almost everywhere anyway and I also go out walking to the national park I conveniently live a 15-minute drive from with my dad from time to time, which is even better. I also run 3-4 times a week, I'm hardly a serious runner but it's still fun and a good way to keep fairly fit. That's about it for outdoor activities but it's very time-consuming anyway.

Outside.... that word isn't very familiar to me.... jk.

When i go outside i usually like walking in town centre, maybe doing some shopping and stopping at a café. Or i really enjoy just walks in the mountains' forests (they feel so magical and relaxing), or just staying outside in the mountains with the birds chirping, the sun glowing and just reading or drinking coffee. As you can see i really enjoy going to the mountains

>outside

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

no

just, no

Well, I'm not averse to being outside particularly. Just that there's often people... I like artificial areas like roads, or malls, or whatnot, but there's always people nearby, so I don't like outside.

I spend a lot of time outdoors now I'm at Uni. My campus is in the middle of the countryside so the air is fresh and there are woodland walks and nice lakes and stuff to walk by. I go for runs occasionally but I'm incredibly unfit right now so I can't run for long. A lot of the time I go for very solitary walks on my own at 4am when I can't sleep.

Oh, and the most important thing: There is Wifi all around campus, so the internet is outside too!

I only go outside to go work and walk the dog. Dad took down most of the climber in the garden that shaded my favourite spot, so I can't even use that.

I do my exercise at work, well pushing heavy cages around and walking back and forth to put items out (probably 100+ times a shift) has to count right?

I actually work outside.  I bring in shopping carts at Walmart all day so I'm outside for 5+ hrs a day.  Is nice.

You must have a better Walmart than I did if you think the job is nice. XD

Course I live in Wisconsin and had to do it in snow/freezing rain a lot and our managers were pricks but...

On Topic more, I did enjoy getting to work outside. I think I wouldn't mind doing outdoor work, provided I could go inside every once in a while.
