The Nyx Avatar
omfg it's the Solemn Notice thread all over again people. If you wanna talk about what makes a control deck, what's healthy for a format, the do's and don'ts, go for it, but don't funking do it here. That's why we have this magic little section called Banlists and Theory. You can discuss theory THERE so it doesn't make 6 page discussions that don't even have much to do with the funking card. I'm just gonna repeat what I said on the Notice Thread: If you wanna slow down the format, that's fine. I WANT it slower. But you can't keep making these Hoover Dam floodgate cards. You gotta do it in increments. Slamming the brakes only causes them to lock up as they overcome the coefficient of friction. The way anti-lock brakes work is they rapidly engage and disengage the brakes to keep them from actually overcoming friction. It is applied in increments. Is this a bad move? No. The card is very annoying no doubt, but it's general trend is totally acceptable. Is the card itself a bad move? YES. It's specifically attached to a deck type that is ALMOST COMPLETELY the opposite of what the trend tries to accomplish. It becomes Denko. Rather than helping out every deck equally, it only solidifies game in one or two decks. That's what happens when you throw EVERYTHING on one card.\ Now PLEASE stop general theory discussion. There is no reason to fan the flames on a thread that should be it's own topic in another section.Speaking of Solemn Notice: That's one of the cards you can use on this one. epicmemesbro
I personally am ok with the negation of Synchro and xyz effects since I am looking for cards that limit opponents usage of them. I personally would rather have pendulum effects negated rather than fusion ones, it may seem OP to some, but that is because I think many people have grown far too dependant on these new summoning mechanics. Spinny
Ahhh guys I spent ages trying to find this:http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Pendulum_StormIdk if its a promo or something but it should be pretty good against this deck I think. Ryusei the Morning Star
I'm genuinely afraid it just won't do enough. Konami was doing a good thing by building in anti-ED into the new types like Nekroz and Dolls, if only the decks themselves were a little less powerful. This might sell it for morphs, but the rest of the decks pepe is shitting on are still up sheet's creek

King K. Azo
Well, might as well throw out the SHS point of view, since I'm the SHS guy. He's a pain because Kyuubi and Susanowo can't kill it, and the pendulum Jade (can't remember the much better Japanese name) can't beat over him without equips. But if I get Benkei out, I'm just smack him with my big stick next turn and move on.

Ryusei the Morning Star
Backrow will mean nothing if you don't go first.care to back up that statement or are you just talking out of your ass? I wonder why people don't just side out all their backrow if they win and know the opp wants to go first then....and this isn't even about funking solemn notice. This card seems good on paper, but much like that lv6 ritual dragon, we're missing half the puzzle and can't make any real judgment till we get it

Ryusei the Morning Star
REDMD seems really good in morphs now. Provided you summon this properly, you should be able to have a Unicore on demand basically that floats no less
Blake
This exists. It is an out to Amorphactor. It doesn't get you your MP1 back, but it removes the thing that keeps you from answering scales as efficiently. After the scales are goe (V/Lector), you can easily regain advantage. The amorphages are expensive as funk, and it's hard to keep tempo while also feeding them. They're strong floodgates, but they're very costly, and it makes them have issues. I mean, hell, they got an anti-burn floodgate in Hyper, so it's not like they're getting consistency. Twin Twister exists. MST exists. Archfiend Eccentrick exists. Castel exists. You will have answers. They have to run backrow to keep up with your answers, and every backrow is something that is NOT floodgate fodder. Think about that. Amorphage is, while a nasty idea in theory, a control deck that is in no way out of line at this point. It's not "you can't play YGO", it's "outplay my YGO before I beat your face in." The overreaction is real, as is telling people not to discuss control and the like in the most relevant place it could be at this point in time, and while I don't condone what has happened, you all need to step back and look at it. Not all floodgates are bad. A floodgate is bad when it's too cheap and does too much for too little drawback. Hell, the best Amorphage floodgate is Iritum, and that requires running an asynergetic Level 8. These aren't too little drawback. So just think about it. It's a control deck. It may not be the one YGO deserves, but it is, at least as an idea, the one it needs.

The Nyx Avatar
Backrow will mean nothing if you don't go first.Raigeki, Dark Hole (yes; some people use it), Compulsory Evacuation Device (in case you don't want to trigger its Grave-effect), the previously mentioned Archfiend Eccentrick, and more. Then, Summon your Extra Deck monsters (unless the card you used/Set was Compulsory Evacuation Device). All in Main Phase 2.
epicmemesbro
The skipping of the main phase is too overpowered however. I've noticed that card effects that skip main phases tend to be banned shortly after a card's inception.

VCR_CAT
The skipping of the main phase is too overpowered I disagree. Skipping a turn is overpowered; but skipping the MP isn't that bad. It slows you down a turn, yeah, but it won't be broken. At worst it'll be annoying, but it won't shut you down.

Bearing in mind it's attack is short of 3k so crab n acid golem still can mow it down.EDIT: crab can't but you get what I mean.

Ryusei the Morning Star
Yata is a draw skip though. It's a matter of time before someone extrapolates Kook's comparison of MP1 and BP to the DP That aside, would scapegoat work for the cost that black mentioned? It is technically a +3 to sustain the tribute costs

Yemachu
Now if we can bring this out and an "Earthbound Immortal Chacu Challhua" in face-up Defense Position, we can skip the biggest part of the opponent's turn; bar a few quirky cards, they will be limited to quick-effects... only issue will be to consistantly do something like that. If not its own Ritual Spell Card, "Odd-Eyes Advent" can take care of Ritual Summoning this card multiple times per duel. The pendulum monsters used for "Odd-Eyes Advent" can also serve as Tribute for "Chacu Callhua"; which leaves the issue of getting all pieces in your hand.
