Well, it seems that the salt levels have calmed down in this thread, so I might as well bring my own opinions in now. For a second, we were no better than DNF, and apparently "skipping only an MP1* can trigger a lot of people easily. If you don't know or haven't experienced the metagame yourself, you have no right to look at this card at a limited view and spew salt. Indeed it's surprising to everyone at first but once you start to place some logic it becomes clear.

When I played Amorphages on Devpro, they indeed fit the criteria for a proper control deck, but without the Extra toolbox, the monsters alone were pretty weak and were at best tribute fodder for the Pendulum scales or from floodgate monsters. I thought something like Nekroz would make Amophages a suitable pick, but then this card came out as a Ritual to complete the whole set of summoning methods. So I guess I do have the right to say I called it...even though I said nothing, but I guess it was just expected. For this card to join Amorphages, it's going to do what Majespecters tried to do, only being more direct, swift, and offensive.

Nevertheless, it's indeed bonkers, but it's a worthwhile Ritual boss monster that exceeds something like Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon. The skipping MP1 part seems pretty annoying, but that doesn't mean that we haven't experienced like it before, such as Grand Horn of Heaven. As Black said, you the player, are responsible for outs. Konami made this card not only to strengthen a proper control deck, but to also counter against currently dominant Pendulum meta. For that matter, you have other things like Twin Twister and Counter Traps at your disposal to stop this thing.

We will just have to wait for the Ritual Spell to be revealed and from there, how it would affect the meta if it were used in practicality. I can predict that the Ritual Spell will be mediocre enough to prevent anyone from getting multiples of this, and will at least support Amorphages in other ways other than Rituals such as G&E of the BA.

World had that lock because of the loop that allowed you to regenerate fodder to fuel it.

But yet, it wasn't banned (at least as far as I remember).

----

With this card, it only locks the opponent on the turn after it's summoned; no more than that, and only if you Ritual Summon.

That, and it's only MP1 that you lose. (You can still battle, and play cards later during the MP2)

But like I mentioned earlier in a status, I'll reserve final judgment until after we see what the Ritual Spell can do.

While I'm skeptical about this card locking off the ED, bar for Pendulums, but considering EmEm (or PePe) and whatever else exists nowadays, I can see why this card does what it does. (And yes, I have gotten my share of having to put up with EmEm and other heavy ED spam Decks)

I have no strong feelings either way for this card (good/bad); although it's a pain in the ass to deal with, there are also enough counters for you to block this thing with.

I find this card amazing. It's highly oppressive and should stop most Extra Deck-based decks dead on their tracks. It does remind me of "Nekroz of Unicore", but big differences I see are that this isn't backed up by the consistency and search power that Nekroz can have (or at least not yet), also its Level 8 may complicate the arrangement of its Ritual Summon unlike Unicore's Level 4; however, the feasibility of its Ritual Summon also depends on the Ritual Spell.

Admittedly, I wasn't a big fan of Unicore at some point, but not only my opinion on oppressive cards or effects a.k.a. floodgates has changed (or perhaps evolved) since then, but also I find this card more enjoyable given its theme/concept, archetype, overall flavor, artwork, also for currently lacking the silly interactions that Unicore has (e.g. using Manju/Senju or "Herald of Arc Light" as tribute for its Summon) as well as the backup of a deck like "Nekroz".

Even the evil side of me wants the Ritual Spell to include its name, so this can be searched by "Pre-Preparation of Rites".

I like how one could be a pro and equip it from the Deck to "Paladin of Felgrand" so you can activate the search effect once it is sent to the Graveyard.

Its EARTH Attribute reminded me of "Earth Chant", and "Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon" is EARTH as well; at the same time, as a Dragon-Type this card can be Summoned by "Odd-Eye Advent"... I wonder if it would be possible to build a deck focused on these 2 Rituals for an stronger oppressive effect.

Skipping MP1... OK, I can do everything besides OTK'ing the opponent (unless my deck is such). What if I don't have an out, however, and my only current way to deal with this monster is via attacking it? Supposing I don't have a monster(s) on my side of the field, it's tough to counter.

In general, almost everyone can do in MP2 what they couldn't do in MP1: Activate effects and swarm the field. Remember, Pendulum Summoned monsters are not affected.

It's annoying, I know; it'll annoy me numerous times, like Monarchs, Yosenju and the Scepter-Sovereignty pair, but NOT because it's OP. Also, regarding the Main Deck solutions, I want to say something: Merely trying to speed the deck's best moves up is not always successful. The reason? This card, like some of you said. The Side Deck can help a lot, but it can't cover EVERY aspect of problem, so even 3-4 general "supporters/back-ups" in the deck, or monsters that do well with the archetype, don't really hurt.

Returning to the card: Pre-Prep is a card I didn't know of, so it surprised me when I saw what it does. Hopefully, the Spell's name will not include the Monster's...

Can cards like Ritual Buster ( http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Ritual_Buster) and Terminal World, like Dolphin said, be a problem? Also, is the monster's ATK at 2950 possibly because they wanted to avoid it being searched by Medoly of Awakening Dragon ( http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/The_Melody_of_Awakening_Dragon ) ?

I called the name as Amorctor P____ the [adjective] Dracoverlord

Amorphactor. Love Factor Psycho.

I love it! It has a beautiful effect. Let's be honest though, the (2) effect isn't really as powerful as people are trying to make it out to be. The maindeck Amorphages do more to shut out the Extra Deck, preventing Pendulum Summons from the Extra as well. And as someone pointed out earlier, if this card really becomes a massive meta-dominating problem (which I doubt, but we'll see), just Summon Crazy Box and laugh as the Ritual's own effect is used against it.

I can't make proper judgment on this card until the ritual spell is revealed, but as of now, the main issue is going to be the same as Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon. The ritual monster in the hand without the corresponding spell is a complete brick. If you're playing this in Amorphage, which is an archetype that needs a minimum of 3 cards to even start their engine, having a 5th card in hand that will be useless until you draw a specific ritual spell (or advent, although you don't have much of a way to search it unless you're going to tech in Sky Arc) is not going to be even close to optimal. Look at how many people play Gravity Dragon, a monster that trunades your opponent with no chance of rebuttal and acts as a Flare Metal Dragon afterward. Why isn't it played? Because both the ritual spell and ritual monster brick you when drawn without the other.

Until I see that the ritual spell adds consistency in a way that doesn't turn it into a "Good and Evil in the Burning Abyss" (ritual spell played without the monster) I can't really say that this card is going to see much play if any.

Strong effect. Just not sure if it's worth the consistency drop.

or it could be because all of the DracoX have a 50 stat, and all but one of those has it as ATK. Just saying.

Pointed out Love Factor earlier, but yeah, it's an odd thing, especially with psycho.

Throughout all of this, I'm just going to do the same thing I try to do with Monarchs: Mask of Weakness (no Tributing) and Anti-Spell Fragrance (no Spells), and then just have fun with my Sneaky Pebbles.

Honestly, most newer Decks are atrocities in powercreep, but this, and Amorphage as a whole, seem pretty easily sidestepped.

d600a593-s.jpgAmorphous Persona
Field Spell Card
(1) “Amorphage” monstesr on the field gain 300 ATK and DEF.
(2) As long as this card remains face-up in the Field Zone, each time “Amorphage” monsters you control are tributed you can draw a card. This effect can be applied up to twice per turn.
(3) You can banish this card from your Graveyard; tribute Pendulum Monsters in your hand or on your field whose Levels equal 8, then Ritual Summon “Amorphactor Psycho, the Vanitas Dracoverlord”.

Shinryuu no Mezame / True Draco-Awakening
Normal Spell Card
(1) If there is a face-up “Dracoverlord” monster and a non-Pendulum “Dracoslayer” monster on the field: Shuffle as many cards on the field into the Deck as possible, then, you can Special Summon 1 “Dracoslayer” or “Dracoverlord” monster from your Deck, ignoring its Summoning conditions.

Not bad, but the ritual not only just lost any potential Pre-Preparation support, because this isn't a ritual spell, but also, you have to find a way to shove this in the grave in order to conduct the summon.

In other words, this doesn't fix the fact that Amophactor Psycho, the False Dracoverlord is a dead draw without this card, and in fact, is a dead draw even with Amorphous Persona since you need to find a way to first put it in the grave.

There we go. Amorphactor is never going to see competitive play.

not saying they're going to be competitive, but they exist

I'm sorry but is this translated wrong or something?

That's what came off of Organization, but they probably forgot that TCG changed the name.

Should search Vector or the new one when it dies, but I'll update the OP so it's less confusing

But now that it has no Ritual Spell card and relies on that Field Spell (which is probably what it says on the card, assuming I can try to read blurry furigana), you'll need that Field Spell in the Graveyard or go Advent if you have to. I'm probably going the latter option with this, since it doesn't require itself to be dead in the Graveyard to use.

Maybe they'll get a late Ritual of their own, but I'm assuming that isn't the case.

It can still be Ritual Summoned, yes, but not as efficiently as I might've originally thought.

Though it should still be efficient enough to run, even with the small setback (I can live without not locking the opponent's MP1; the ED negation is still good).
