Rank 1 LIGHT Spellcaster-Type Xyz Effect Monster
ATK 0
DEF 0
Materials: 2 Level 1 Monsters
Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; you cannot Special Summon monsters for the rest of this turn, also your opponent randomly chooses 1 card in your Extra Deck, and if it is a "Number" monster with "Number 1" through "Number 99" in its name, Special Summon it from your Extra Deck, by using this face-up card you control as the Xyz Material. (This Special Summon is treated as an Xyz Summon. Xyz Materials attached to this card also become Xyz Materials on the Summoned monster.) During the End Phase, banish the face-up monster Special Summoned by this effect.

Three material is the nail in the coffin for it. You could have made a case for Blue Eyes to get easy DMD, but random makes even that a terrible combo

Going to go out on a limb and say the only home this card has is in dedicated decks

That all being said, this set looks like Garbo

No, trust me, if there's something LV1 decks DON'T have a problem doing it's getting Materials on the board.

Also, the set is a COLLECTOR'S Pack. Its thesis statement is spelled out right away. It may not be as meta-defining as Duelists/Dragons of Legend (bar Cyber Angel Heralds maybe), but it's done a better job of giving people things they'd want to COLLECT than last year's did.

What did last year's had to offer, again?

That's not all that broken. If it's a two tribute that needs to be normal summon

And they'll change it to destruction likely

What about the 4000 beater that inflicts 4000 damage for no raisin, or the one that halves your LP out of nowhere?

If they maintain that you need the Ain Traps to Special Summon these guys and you otherwise have to Tribute Summon them, then there might be a case for them, but some of them are too ridiculous for a Metaion Summoning requirement.

Also this game's consumer base has 3 major groups: competitive, casual and collector; it'd be great if each of these groups always remembers that the others exist.

They exist, but sales is a thing too. DOL 1 sold out, DOL2 flopped, notice that one tried to cater to all three groups and one didn't. This is honestly even more casual than DOL2. I doubt it will sell well

@Timelords: Fair, no room anyway. It's likely being saved for some kinda Villian pack

It would have been a cute power play for R1 if it said:

"Reveal all cards in your Extra Deck. Your opponent randomly selects 1 "Number" monster from among your Extra Deck,"

Then, despite the drawbacks, it would actually have potential as a finisher.

Also wish it killed the number, so that you could go into big ass spooder. funk banish,
