Level 11 DARK Warrior-Type Special Summon Tuner Effect Monster
ATK 2000
DEF 2000
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must first be Special Summoned by Tributing 1 Level 11 “Cardian” monster you control other than “Cardian – Yanagi ni Ono no Michikaze”.
(1) If this card is Special Summoned: Draw 1 card, then reveal it to your opponent. If that card is a “Cardian” monster, you can Special Summon it. Otherwise, send that card to the Graveyard.
(2) If this card is used as a Material Monster for a Synchro Summon, you can treat all the monsters being used as Materials for that Synchro Summon as Level 2 monsters.

No it isn't actually; it's the same in terms of what it wants to do, but it has some significant differences in its requirements and effect.

I have a feeling that they will print that Lucky Draw card, and basically have it work as such:

"Draw up to 5 cards, until you draw a card that is not a "Cardian". Special Summon as many "Cardian" monsters from your hand as possible, ignoring their Summoning conditions. Banish all cards in your hand afterwards."

Well, it's pretty much the same from the anime isn't it? There isn't much bad to be said about it really.

I'll highlight the difference:

-It's now a semi-nomi instead of Wulf

-Removed the need for the Tributed monter to have not been summoned by a Cardian, and instead swaps it for "cannot Tribute another copy of itself"

-The draw has become a mandatory trigger on any SS, rather than part of a self-summon effect

-Can Special Summon whatever it draws

-Only treats the Synchro Materials as LV2, not every monster you control

So, as said previously, the overall idea is the same but almost all of the specifics are different.

I'm slightly concerned about that first clause. If I recall correctly, there are several Cardian pairs, and half of them will have that "must first be Special Summoned" clause. If that's true, then you won't always be able to SS what you draw, which bothers me. If you can't SS it, do you have to discard it?

The Special Summon is optional anyway, so no.

So here's a thought...

Are they releasing Cardian monsters, like, 1 at a time, so that by the time there is a decent enough number of them that you make a Deck with them, that the game will have reached a point where Upstart Goblin.dek(It basically is; shoosh) won't be that much of a threat?

i wish this doesnt have any summon restriction...tbh i dont think they're even necessary,  it's not like this has good stat or anything, its only 2000/2000, not an ideal material for synch/xyz and its effect isnt that good either, we have NS-able lv 9 and 10 so i dont think NS-able lv 11 would make any difference..

this could be cool as a generic monster, and could work with some gimmicky things like calculator or solidarity too bad they have to make this only playable in cardians...

I mean, isn't it for flavor purposes?

well yeah but i dont think making it generic (at least NSable) will hurt the flavor since its mainly will only be played in its own deck anyway, making it semi-nomi just hurt the playability

I think you missed the part where this thing's existence basically guarantees Cardian - Yanagi gets printed, which IS a LV11 NS-able monster (and with 100 ATK/DEF to boot).

well yeah but this have much more interesting stat

i kind of hoped that they will make matsu ni tsuru NSable (Lv 1, 2000 atk which is pretty cool) but i guess its pretty unlikely
