Cipher Spectrum

Trap Card

If a “Cipher” Xyz Monster you control is destroyed by battle or your opponent’s card effect while it had Xyz Material and sent to the Graveyard: Target that monster; Special Summon it from your Graveyard, and if you do, Special Summon 1 Xyz Monster from your Extra Deck with the same name as that monster.

Speedroid Bamboo Horse

lv 4 WIND

Machine/Effect

When this card is Normal Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower “Speedroid” monster from your hand. If this card is in your Graveyard, and it was not sent there this turn: You can banish this card from your Graveyard; send 1 WIND monster from your Deck to your Graveyard. You can only activate this effect of "Speedroid Bamboo Horse" once per turn.

Wind Witch – Ice Bell

lv 3 WIND

Spellcaster/Effect

If you control no monsters: You can Special Summon this card from your hand, then, Special Summon 1 “Wind Witch” monster from your Deck. The monster Special Summoned this way cannot be Tributed, and you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck the turn you activate this effect, except Level 5 or higher WIND monsters. If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can inflict 500 damage to your opponent. You can only activate each effect of "Wind Witch - Ice Bell" once per turn.

ATK/1000 DEF/1000

 

Seems horse and Ice Bell got a boost and Cipher Spectrum is interesting for getting 2 Galaxy-Eyes Ciphers out.

Ice Bell is basically Terrortop's little sister now. Interesting. If a few more Wind Witches come out, the deck is looking pretty darn good.

 

Bamboo Horse seems nice too. Being able to dump Daiko Duke or whatever revival target is pretty nice. Plus the SS effect isn't bad.

 

Spectrum is probably sheet. Why can't Kaito just play more monsters ;_;

Spectrum is pretty meh. Firstly, it only works on "Cipher" Xyz, of which there are currently 3. Cipher Dragon, Cipher Blade, and Neo Cipher. As decent as they are, you're not really likely to run multiples of them because Rank 8 has a lot of options that compete for slots, and even if you do, it doesn't justify running a conditional Trap that only works if said monster died while it had Xyz Material.

 

Ice Bell seems really cool, no pun intended. It can SS itself, then grab another Witch from the Deck, burns for 500, and still has access to WIND Synchros like Clear Wing or the archetype's Synchro(s).

Level 5+ maindeck Speedroids confirmed or just futureproofing?

 

Anyway, Horse is actually really sweet. I love that, being a Level 4 and dead in the grave (can't be reborn'd by Yoyo), it has a banish from grave effect. It also goes some of the way to giving Speedroids the Grave setup they need to stand on their own feet.

 

Ice is kinda nice, but it is generally worse than Terrortop into Taketomborg into Tuner, so I'm still kinda hesitant about it until more Wind Witches get revealed.

I like how they seem to think that Terrortop is okay so let's just make a 2nd version of Terrortop

I mean, it's a Terrortop with restrictions that prevent it from being used outside of its intended purpose. It's still potentially an instant Clear/Crystal Wing, but at least it's not also a Dante on a stick.

As for the first card, sadly a bit too reactive, however it might get alright, IF summoning galaxy eyes would get a decent cipher rank 4, which would benefit from it or summoning rank 8s would not be as painful for galaxy eyes. Bamboo is amazing, considering it can use a somewhat tuner heavy hand and setup terrortop for double yoyo or revival. As for the last card, it is even more than I wanted, a nice beginning, as for terrortop ... this card has enough restrictions, preventing it from tributing or instant extra deck material, and especially no xyzs.

Horse, I feel like they are trying too hard. It's going to get a lot of use, but I still wish they made it grant more Normal Summons; Additional Yoyo plays would have been cute.

 

Ice Bell... funking hell.... That 1st effect is crazy.

USE SAME CARDS TO SUMMON ACE MONTSER TURN ONE, SIT ON IT FOR THE REST OF THE DUEL. UPGRADE IT IF NEEDED. IF THAT FAILS, YOU LOSE. EVEN IF YOU HAVE LIFE POINTS STILL. YOU'VE LOST.

Ah mo god, Ice Bell, if they get some more Tuners, could be nuts. At least it limits you to stuff like the Stardust monsters, Clear and Crystal Wing and the Speedroid  monsters. Would hate to see a r4nk version of Terrortop. Still, being able to pull off a Hagoita  or something, or if you have the level one tuner in hand, you could actually go into Mist Wurm. 

Cipher Spectrum is bad/very niche, like so much of the archetype, really.

Bamboo horse is interesting. If only it activated on Special Summon as well. Then it could get real memey with Yo-Yo and stuff. Grave set up is nice, for any deck really.

If it activated on Special Summon it would still have 0 interactions with Yoyo.

Jack is excused because he's Jack Motherducking Atlas. And he uses other things ( Exploder Dragonwing and Red Wyvern for example ) besides Red Demon's Dragon.

Red Wyvern is a laddering cards for Red Dragon Archfiend, even yuma generally uses more different numbers (that are not utopia/utopia evolutions) than jack non-archfiend monsters.

The Special Summon of the monster from the Deck is optional. Neither Ice Bell nor that Special Summoned monster can be Tributed.

 

So you won't have to guarantee your opponent 2 draws from its hand effect if they Chain Maxx "C", and such.
