  1. I picked 5d's as my favorite. It may in part be that it was the first series I saw subbed from start to finish but nothing afterwards beat it. I was skeptical of "card games on motorcyles" after I saw the first episode but it had amazing characters and climactic plots that really drew you in and also has my favorite moment in all of yugioh. I won't comment on DM and GX because I saw those in English up until mid GX season 3 so it wouldn't be a fair comparison. Zexal was annoying at times when it was trying and failing to have comedic filler but looking back on it Yuma's Katobingu motto was a nice lesson for the viewers. (For those who don't know he means never giving up no matter how many times you're knocked down and continuing to challenge yourself) As an aside, some subtitles "translate" this as "bring it to em" which sounds WAY better than the dub's choice of "feel the flow". I've only heard about 10 seconds of Zexal's dub and Yuma's English voice actor sounds like a 10 year old trying to sound stupid as part of an impression. Zexal also had some memorable moments and duels. My main dislike is that Yuma's tendency to be forgiving and trusting of everyone, even the villains that are straight up evil or that have abused his trust, does make me like the series less. Arc-V started off strong with an intriguing plot where it has plenty of mystery but if you go back and watch it it makes perfect sense what everyone was doing and why. The series had may strong and admirable characters like Yuto and Akaba Reji and some nice duels. Yuya didn't seem to be a bad protagonist at first with at first being the operative word. It all came crashing down in episode 110 however. Despite certain events theoretically leading to a character development moment for Yuya where he realized that sometimes you need to take things seriously and defeat your opponent instead of preaching about dueling bringing smiles all the time. The writers threw all of that away and Yuya learned nothing. Also to top it off everyone else around him magically and unconvincingly adopted his mindset as if they were brainwashed. There were still some decent duels after but that moment killed my interest in the plot. Ironically my favorite moment in this series is after that namely when Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon makes it first appearance. My final criticism is that Kurosaki's duel vs Katio should have ended differently because it showed legitimate character development and not blind preaching. Vrains is a series that I know a lot of people dislike but I however liked it. Yes the first season had issues with flashback episodes and I don't defend that. What I do defend was the interesting plot and good characters. Yusaku aka Playmaker seems like a slightly worse version of Yusei but I'll take that over some of the protagonists we got. The dueling also felt climactic and epic. One high point of the series that I do have to mention is Takeru aka Soulburner. He was a great addition from the energy of his first Reincarnation Link summon, which I'm very glad that they brought back summon chants for that moment, to showing the viewers the fact that one can go beyond the scars of their past and surpass them. Also, he's less wooden with his emotions than Yusaku. Sevens took everything that made Japanese dubs of yugioh good such as the climactic plots and characters that you could get behind and replaced it with English yugioh gx at its most inane and cringy. The viewers are given no reason to get behind Yuga's quest to promote rush duels, not even a reason that they disagree with. All you get is one line from Yuga: "I felt that dueling has become rigid". Why? No one knows and its never explained beyond that one sentence. Also, there's no plot tension because Yuga could lose 1000 times to the antagonists and nothing would change. Its already explained early on that the Rush duels can't be deleted out of the duel disks no matter what happens to Yuga. Most of the episodes involve either cringy filler or attempts to have a serious plot that are all pointless in the end. As an example of the latter an antagonist tries to steal Yuga's notebook in hopes that it contains the secret of uninstalling rush duels, gets caught, and has to win the notebook in a duel as result. She loses, is given the notebook anyway for some reason and guess what? Nothing in there made any difference so the whole episode was pointless. Also the filler is never funny. None of the characters are worth watching or caring about. However, for some ridiculous reason the 8th series seems to be sevens 2.0.

  4. Do you enjoy dueling with custom cards online but don't want the chaos of dueling book and/or you prefer automatic simulators like Edopro to manual ones? If so YGOCC wants you https://discord.gg/bPHzrys

We have our own dueling client, Koishipro, our own balance team, regular tournaments, many custom cards already, and synchronizing your cards with the latest updates is as simple as running 2 batch files so no need to manually share zip files of custom cards with each duelist

Lua scripting skills are optional but welcome

umm so it's like YGOPro but for custom cards, and it isn't "free for all" but whatever one creates has to interact with the pre-existing custom card pool, am I correct?

  5. My youtube feed is on fire with people poorly editing Cloud's and Sephiroth's faces over all manner of things with Spongebob characters being a particularly popular choice. I guess that being made into a meme isn't restricted to things the internet labels as unpopular or uncool (e.g. the Double Boost from Sonic Forces). Yes I know what all this is in reaction to but its getting old fast.

Don't be alarmed, just changed the nickname because I think the prior one is too bland

It's basically "When things blow up, AT me and I'll come swiftly and take care of that"

User B: You could've just said that instead of writing a name that looks like you overdosed and drank 7 cups of caffeine

User A: Well, tbh I am overdosed on caffeine every day...

  8. I just realized something funny: In yugioh GX's season 2 finale. Sartorius uses Arcana Force Extra the Light Ruler's Tails effect to negate the effect of Elemental HERO Grand Neos and in the anime when that effect is used the Light Ruler loses 1000 ATK and the opponent draws 1 card. When Jaden proceeds to wins the duel with the card he drew Sartorius says "I didn't predict this". Thus Sartorius, a professional fortune teller, predicted that Jaden Yuki would get a dead draw even though that basically never happens.

That's similar to Vanguard's PSYQualia. Sure you can get a vision of what'll happen at a later point in a game, but that doesn't mean it'll pan out every time (as was explained during Season 2).

I find the name of the "Black Lives Matter" movement very ironic. If the "Black Lives Matter" movement actually cared about black lives they'd oppose de-funding the police to prevent the actions of criminals against black people which make up a much larger portion of violence then Police using excessive force.

(For the record, I'm not defending George Floyd's killers. They deserve to be convicted of murder/aiding in murder and the proceeding punishment under US law.)

I mean, we can compare police to war, that again is a terrible argument when the consideration is to have better weapons than the opponent instead of the necessary equipment to de-esculate. It is, again, an argument in favor of reactionary states since the war bias is to not only be more prepared than the enemy but to also have the bigger weapon. Police, fundamentally, should not be about "warring" the situation but resolving it and presenting a form of de-esculation so that the situation is lessened.

And, again, you seem to be using hypotheticals to present an argument that radically dismisses the place and point of "defunding the police". Police are notable not about fighting for the direct laws and policies, but for the basis at which that law upholds standards. There is no proper treatment of knowing the law in which people engage in, only the rights that need to be presented so that a lawful case can be warranted. Police training does not provide the "gear" necessary to construct objective claims that forgo their own biases, as it does not provide proper knowledge toward the system they are said to protect. Rather, the safety nets are there to allow officers to forgo such knowledge and act toward their bias. The "gear" they have are weapons that provide resentment rather than resolution.

It is also evident that police are not for the safety of the individuals but the safety of the whole, which again stems to be a problem, because it means that their is bias to protecting themselves in place of threat. And we "regard" officers who do their job as heroes, when they put their life on the line in places of radical violence even when that is the base of what an officer is to do.

Now, if we're looking at it particularly from your hypothetical that still reduces the nuances to none and overlook my arguments: I am still not positing the idea of a limit on police and patrol. Rather, the amount of "specialized" officers is a higher capacity than the "patrolling" officers, while the changes in roles does not require a change in training, only a change in application of training. That is, also, another place where funds are underutilized and the "gear" is mishandled.

I really do not know what narrative you're trying to provide. It seems that you're really not looking at reality around the systems and situations enough to even have perspective on them, and these hypotheticals provide an illusion of belief for the necessity of service of governance instead of the models of governance that exist. This is all fun and games; if I really wanted to discuss this with you, I feel like you need to do a lot more to get your head out of your ass and realize what is happening here instead of just react to it. Your hypothetical position really show how much you need to dumb things down to realize what is going on and it is becoming a waste of time to repeat myself.

I see your point. And it may be near impossible to weed out every dirty cop because as it goes with police/military alike, those characteristics only start to surface when they gain higher ranks. The proof is in the pudding. But another fact that was displayed in the case of George Floyd is how a higher ranking officer is able manipulate the lower ranking officers and drag them down with him. The two officers that aided in the murder of Floyd had just received their badges. That one mistake both destroyed their careers and lives. So that goes to show that it takes more than "doing your job" to be a good cop. Kinda like how sometimes, to be a good soldier, you have to disobey orders that go against what you were taught or don't sit well with your moral code.

Many businesses and communities were destroyed. Many residents started to realized that this very destructive behavior is not productive to those businesses owners and citizens within those communities. Destroyed businesses and ransacked shopping centers does not equal to good local economy. Tax payers have to pay to fix alot of which is destroyed. Stores getting robbed blind means that the stores will have spend money to replace everything. All that destruction did no one ant good.

To be fair, I have won games with Blue-Eyes and I have won games with Kuriboh. Yet, I've never won a game with Exodia. So.... maybe the strategies that I used when I won were more viable than depending on getting Exodia to my hand over the course of a game.

I do not like the road, the game is heading towards... Konami literally painted themselves in a corner. Limiting how things are done within the game is also mind numbing and infuriatingly stupid.
